Much love!
Internationally we say African not colored that's bad name for us

You can start by reacting to the Geography Now, South Africa as a start. We do have franchises from the USA such as McDonald's, KFC, Burger King, Pizza Hut, Popeyes, etc. but to be frank I prefer our own fast food outlets such as Nandos, Chicken Licken, Steers, Wimpy, etc. 😂.
Yes I miss our own, cause it’s amazing😢 however their US franchises in South Africa are the best in the world. It’s not the same in the States😂
Wimpy is American too, just now owned by a ZA company 😢
@@KagisoMutlaneng Wimpy has not been American since 1977 (last Wimpy in the USA closed shop in 1977) so for all intents and purposes it is South African with Headquarters in Johannesburg 😂
@@KagisoMutlaneng Canadian I think but you know we made it way better. 🥹
@@mhlave2440 lol love this 😂😂🤣🤣🤣
South Africans love their roots and culture 🇿🇦😍
I am a South African from the Xhosa tribe and originally from Eastern Cape Qumbu, currently living and working in Johannesburg.
The penguins are in Boulders beach, Simon's Town near Cape Town.
Yes we do have seals as well, I have seen them in Cape Town on a school excursion at Seal island located 5.7 kilometers off the northern beaches of False Bay
Hi Wanga! Thank you for sharing this with us. Much love!
I am a South African from the Tsonga tribe and originally from Limpopo in Tzaneen , Tzaneen is very beautiful and agricultural Town, we have Mangos, Leitches, Oranges, tomatoes, etc 🇿🇦
You forgot avocados, paw-paws, bananas, tomatoes, nuts, and all kinds of traditional veggies like beans, morogo, pumpkins, mushrooms, herbs I mean traditional version of all the veggies in Limpopo. Also European veggies we do farm. In addition- animals- the big 5 including small and big mammals. SA is amazing. Ohh, cultural mountains and springs where the community prays before they set their foot on them. Places considered sacred. The greenery, lush greens and trees that are so old and you feel they speak to you, you sense what they say. The beauty of nature which we try hard to preserve. We are strict with our sacred places. Then go to KZN Durban- another beauty- mountains and the sea. The Cape too. Mpumalanga- where our sun rises- you will be amazed. 😘😘
I am from Soweto in Johannesburg (Gauteng Province), I am Zulu speaking.
It's very heartwarming to see African Americans learning about African countries and the people.
I don't think you should beat yourselves up about whether it's a tribe or clan, you will learn as you go, you have started and that is what counts.
I soooooo which there was voice note option so that we can assist you with pronunciations, though you are not bad at all with them.

South Africa is a nation with many tribes and even more clans
It will depend where in Africa you are from but in SA it is not offensive to sa "a tribe". We also say tribe.
I am from Gauteng, Joburg to be specific.
We call our country "Mzansi" (nickname meaning south).
Our Big 5 animals are"The lion, Buffalo, Rhino, Elephant, Leopard"
There is a place where Indian Ocean meets the Atlantic Ocean, it's called the Cape Point.

Hey friends🙂 I'm from a city called Pietermaritzburg in KwaZulu-Natal, it's about a 45 minute drive inland from Durban which I think you guys would be more familiar with.
I'm South African Indian and fun fact, South Africa actually has the largest population of Indians outside of India!
South Africa has its issues but I promise you it's the coolest country! The people are incredible, I love my people fr and the country itself is gorgeous. Hope you guys get to experience it soon!
Hi, Nikolai....I guess Pietermaritzburg must now be a city, as you say, but when I was a small boy my parents would get in their VW in the very early morning, leave Durban on their way to Jo-burg and stop off for breakfast at PM - this excited me as we'd have waffles - in a corner cafe (though the word 'cafe' wasn't known then). The town was sleepy, very quiet and green and leafy, kind of from another era, like Kloof nearby.
Certainly there was a large population of Indians in Durban, and their market was a place where everyone shopped. It was very lively and resonated with its unique culture.
Mind you, I'm talking about 60 plus years ago! Times have no doubt changed since then. Keep well. Robert, UK.
@@2eleven48 60 plus years ago? Whoa you'd be surprised if you were to see it, plan on visiting soon?
@@itslolove2606....I'm 74 now, and it's way too past my energies to ever think of getting on a plane and visiting my young life again. So sweet of you to reply. Keep well. Robert, UK.
@@2eleven48 hello Mr Robert!! Thank you for sharing your story with us, it's really wonderful to hear about how things were and how different it is now. I hope you're well sir🙂
@@theonlynikolai ...How kind of you to reply. Well, you know, at 74, as I am, you're not so fit and able as you used to be, but you get along. It's jolly cold here at the moment - minus 2 - so I keep myself warm indoors! I imagine it must be the opposite for you. I remember how hot it was in Durban in December when you jumped around on the beach, the sand burning your feet. Keep ever well, and Happy New Year! Robert, UK.
I'm from South Africa, I'm from Gqeberha I'm Xhosa✌️ nice one I love the reaction you guys make it interesting ❤️
Im South African from the Xhosa tribe were Nelson Mandela eminates from in the Easern Cape which is like the birthhub of Xhosa people live in the suburb called Sunnyridge, its 10 minutes away from the sea and we get blessed by seeing whales migrating all the time its magestic and also react to our music you'll absolutely fall in love.
Ha Zukile!! kutheni uxhoka bhut' omdala?!?!
uRolihlala um'Thembu, or are you saying iNkosi uMandla Ah! Zwelivelile, waseMvezo, iNkosi yasemaXhoseni? 😭
iKumkani uBuyelekaya Ah! Zwelibanzi, iKumkani yamaXhosa? 😭
Please guys, let us not spread misinformation "just because", especially when The Demouchets are using their platform to educate themselves, other Americans, and even us in Africa.
Other parts are spot on, the coast on the Eastern Cape is paradise on Earth!
@@KagisoMutlaneng Amaxhosa bhut wam are no longer just a tribe but a Kingdom which is formed by the coalition of many tribes, like for example ndingu Dlamini and if sihamaba ngalentetho yakho than nam andingo mxhosa?
@@zukilentunja2720 amaXhosa were never a tribe, but always a Kingdom bhut' wam. abaThembu have given tribute, but have never been a vassal state from what I have been taught.
I'll quote colonial contemporaries, who didn't even like Africans (especially amaXhosa due to direct contact and the Wars), who recorded various terms before the standardization and accepted use of other terms:
"Even Hintsa's Gcaleka, the mother kingdom of the Xhosa, in their remote
trans-Kei home, sent warriors to aid Sandile and harboured cattle for the
Gqunukhwebe." - Maitland - Gladstone (letter dated 15-5-1846) in W.M. MacMillan, Bantu, Boer, and Briton
(Oxford, 1963), p. 290. My emphasis. Caffre, or Kaffir, was a colonial tenn for the Xhosa.
This was a letter written in the 1840's and the British still referred to amaXhosa, and emaXhoseni, as polities and Kingdoms (and they knew amaGcaleka were the main House, which they referred as "mother Kingdom").
@@zukilentunja2720 Here is another one, more recent though, again:
"Dr. John Philip, the celebrated British missionary, predicted that the Xhosa would eventually become "a nation of degraded servants on their own soil."" - "THEY ARE DEPRIVING US OF OUR CHIEFTAINSHIP".
THE DECLINE AND FALL OF THE TRADITIONAL XHOSA
ARISTOCRACY (1846-1857)
John Phillip is the same missionary Philippolis is named after, who was Superintendent of the London Missionary Society in 1823. Again they never made the mistake of calling amaXhosa a polity, a nation/kingdom, amaGcaleka an aristocracy of said nation/kingdom.
@@zukilentunja2720 You would know who "Xhosa" referred to, and his descendants, which was the "isiXhosa" variant of ǁkhōsab. The idea that this identity being a kingdom is a recent occurrence is disingenuous, as from even the time of uPhalo, this never referred to abaThembu, amaHlubi, amaNgwane (under uMatiwane) or amaMpondo (uFaku).
"Maqoma urged all the Xhosa chiefs AND the Thembu who had been annexed by the Colony in 1848, to seek the advice of Mlanjeni" - R. Godlonton and E. Irving, op cit., pp. 14-15.
Xhosa as an all encompassing tribe of "clans they couldn't be bothered categorizing" is Apartheid policy, not from ancestral Gcaleka or Rharhabe.
Thank you for the reaction. I live in Dithakong village, Mahikeng(Capital of the North West province) that borders Botswana, which means among the 11 langueges(12 if you include sign language) I speak Setswana. I am a first year LLB student here in University of North West. Calling us a tribe is not disrespectful as far as I know, maybe other people have their own personal problems with being called that, however, what is disrespectful in being called a tribe?
Tswana is a nation
In other Countries it is (because there were wars in the past between the tribes), they prefer not to be asked and not talk about what tribes they come from. I forgot the country but I will research.
Much love and congratulations on your studies!
