I like parts of the conversion but cant help but feel it is far too dense and busy to be overall appealing. The combination of Staff and Orb arms, claw arms, whips over the top, and the back cap from the cryptech makes it cluttered.
I'd go with slightly long pins where you can, having a good 5-10mm of engagement really provides strength to the joint. Such a small nub is providing locating rather than structural support.
