Another walk in Stockholm city. I started at Sergelgatan and made my way to Kungsträdgården. Really busy today in town!
Sergelgatan is a pedestrian street between Sergels torg and Hötorget on Norrmalm in stockholm city. Sergelgatan, 1965 The open place where the pedestrian street connects to Sergels torg, in front of the south high-rise, is called Soltorget.

Stockholm is the capital of Sweden. It has the most populous urban area in Sweden as well as in Scandinavia. 1 million people live in the municipality, approximately 1.6 million in the urban area, and 2.4 million in the metropolitan area. The city stretches across fourteen islands where Lake Mälaren flows into the Baltic Sea. Outside the city to the east, and along the coast, is the island chain of the Stockholm archipelago. The area has been settled since the Stone Age, in the 6th millennium BC, and was founded as a city in 1252 by Swedish statesman Birger Jarl. It is also the county seat of Stockholm County.

@@letswalkaroundstockholm Yes, but before the 1960s, much of it was still as charming as Gamla Stan is today. (Some parts of Klara kvarteren were destroyed already in the 1950s though.)

@@letswalkaroundstockholm This part of Stockholm was a lovely part of the city before it was demonished in 1960s. Kungsträdgården was saved by the citizens. Search for Almstriden 1971. Know your history, otherwise you´re lost.
