Can you ever imagine how would western media report if China is as unsafe as US like daily mass shooting, homelessness problems, riots, racism issue and many other things? People think it is normal because they have freedom to do that but if it happens in China they'd report 24x7 about how bad Communist Country China is. They dig any simple reason to trash China because they can't find reasonable news to trash China. But many people are so ignorant that they trust them. SerpentZa and Laowei86 are the good example. I was laughing when they don't have any propaganda to trash China that they even target Liziqi who was making her rural life video. It shows how frustrated they are 🤣😂
I'm British and retired in Zhuhai, near Macau. I haven't found another foreigner here who does not support the Chinse people and their government. Sure the CPC runs things differently to the governments of the US and UK, but the people I see on the streets every day look quite healthy and happy. As Oli mentioned safety is something I never really think about, and I know I'm safer on the street here than Asian people on the streets of the US and UK.
Something that came up in the video is random strangers saying hello with a friendly wave, happens to me frequently, and very pleasant it is too.
Barrett, you are absolutely right. I have been travel more than 40 countries over the years, no question at all that China is one of the cleanest and friendliness countries in the wolrd. Good job!

I live in Hong Kong and I cannot tell you how much I envy you for being able to live in China. This is so especially when I had experienced the turmoil last year when thousands of mobs took to the streets to cry out that they were living in a “hell”. Unfortunately, that was the case after they blocked every main roads and rails, crashed the shops that held different views from theirs, and beated people who dared to express different views. A man was beaten to death and another man was burned alive in the street.
Yes there do the same thing in Thailand now and Myanmar same people do this with the Cia. I watch.. Land destroyer. on RUclips. He very good same thing as HK go in Thailand now

I have seen a pro China RUclipsr who's video got over 200t views and over8k comments mostly positive feedback with only a couple hundred thumbups, the youtuber said himself that he's number of subscribers and likes will suddenly decrease by several thousand in a day, alot people actually tested it by writing down the number of likes at the time in the comment section, and after a couple days the official number of likes actually dropped, also he was not allowed to put RUclips ads in hes videos after that, lol

Even ignoring the sarcasm in his “reporting” I was actually mesmerised by the clean streets and lack of graffiti and general disorder. This is nicer than many UK cities and this was supposed to be the poorest region in China.
It's not nearly as clean as you think but yes, most Chinese cities will have very strict cleaning standards for wherever the premier 'showcase' downtown CBD and tourist zones are. It's almost entirely for a 'video view' and if you were to actually take samples, like actual health and safety inspections you'd be shocked how much grime, bacteria and toxic mess is all over the Chinese samples compared to the UK ones. But yes, this is why the Barretts and most Shill Panderbears constantly take you to either a new park, a new district, a 'showcase shopping center area' because yes indeed those will be kept visually clean.
Keep in mind, there are 100 places he's walking past that if he wanted to - he could stop and show you how filthy they were.

The city that I live in with over 7 million people is kept clean from the city centers of which there are several, right out to the outskirts of the city. So I don't know what cities you have been to or when you have been there.

I've been to about 50 Mainland Chinese cities over the last two decades and many of them several times.
Some of them carry out higher standards, again, its almost all 'appearance' and not actual cleanliness that matters. Some city like a (random example) a Huangshan City is aware it's going to be a tourist base camp and constant video post so they will keep it surprisingly visually clean.
Then again, you just stand in that cleanest part, memorize it, soak it up then fly to a typical German City.. now get out, stand there and soak it in.
It's a rather stunning difference.
And its not just superficial, the German city has proper health and safety people taking samples, has real quality disinfectants and street cleaning machines, they really are effectively cleaning off the bins, the bus stop seats with real cleaning products.
No comparison.

A business man from here was building trampoline parks in China about 10 years ago and I said to him it must be fierce hard to do business there with All the red tape etc etc. He said not at all it was far harder in our own area with the local authority and their rules and regulations and their charges for this and that all designed to keep their own Inefficient and overstaffed and over paid system going.

Brilliant video, thank you. May I point out my reservations about China? I am stunned by the scale of built up areas, the massive buildings, vast pavements, busy motor traffic albeit with an adequate system of roads & motorways, the cleanliness & hygiene, &, in bigger & richer cities, the crowds of people. My ideal of living out a good life is to be based on a hilltop in a quiet Mediterranean island with a view of the sea.
