According to my audiophile friend, A07 Pro does sound with a little more mid-range clarity & emphasis. If you'd like the sound signature with a little more bass & treble presence, A08 Pro may be a better fit to your liking.
As for 5 swappable OP amp chips, roughly speaking:
    1. the front right one is for input buffering and amplification,
    2. the front left one is for bass & treble tone controls,
    3. the middle left one is for single-ended to differential conversion of the left channel,
    4. the middle right one is for single-ended to differential conversion of the right channel, (We'd better use the same model of OP amps for left and right channels at the same time I guess.)
    5. and the rear one is for aux output buffering.
Further fine-tuning its sound signature to your liking may be possible since you get FIVE swappable OP amps instead of TWO. Now it's your turn to play around with the OP amp rolling stuff if you'd like, have fun & happy rolling ;)

@@ynstyne You can buy OP amps from Digikey or Mouser, for example.
There're lots of discussions on sound signature difference of various OP amps. Pull the trigger based on your own research & preference to give it a try. Many people prefer Muses 02, to name one.
There are five NE5532 OP amps socketed inside when you buy a brand new Aiyima A07 Pro as far as I know. Those five are the same, and most OP amps are compatible regarding what you concerned.

A Difference between the Aiyima and Fosi that can be very important to some: The Aiyima has a Bluetooth/Aux Switch on the front. The Fosi has no physical switch, it defaults to Bluetooth when anyone connects and the Bluetooth is searching for a signal at all times when its on. If you live in a dorm, apartment, condo, ANYONE can Hijack your audio, and depending on your settings, it can happen at a much louder volume. I do not like anyone in the vicinity having this control, there is no way to disable the Bluetooth. I see that you can un-pair a hi-jack by pressing and holding the volume knob...but that only works after the hi-jack has happened. There is a new Fosi V3 coming out with no Bluetooth...that is the one for me.

I've been building speakers over 20 years and used many of the original A07 since it came out in 2020. I have a pair of 6 Inch 2 way speakers in my shop that use an 8 ohm SB acoustics woofer and are a nominal 6 ohm load. Switching to a 48 volt power supply on the A07 with these speakers is night and day, not a subtle effect at all.
You'll still notice it with 4 ohm speakers, but if you really want to hear a difference in the bass and are running 6 to 8 ohm speakers, I highly suggest you try a 48 volt power supply to really hear the magic these amps can produce. I have never experienced any problems with the amp getting hot either.

@@tobiasschnitzer1449 Hi Tobias, I thought I replied to your question a few days ago but apparently it didn't stick. I prefer fanless meanwell ps with power factor correction, but you can just try out a cheap brick to observe the differences for yourself. Loud is not my thing, this is about an amplifier's ability to instantaneously deliver power through a given resistance.
The reason car audio uses 4ohm drivers (and in the age of digital amps 2 or even 1ohm) is because a 12volt system is limited in the amount of power it can deliver through an 8ohm load.
Without getting into damping factor and a bunch of electrical engineering lingo, let's just say that the voltage is the electrical equivalent of pressure, and the higher it is, the more easily it can drive through a higher resistance load. This is especially noticeable in bass transients and gives life to the music no matter what level you are listening at. Particularly if you are using speakers with highish resistance and low sensitivity.
Volts x amps = watts, and a voltage controlled system runs cooler than a current controlled system. If you up the volts you can go with less amperage and maintain the same wattage. The 3255 chip specs show a max voltage of 53.5 and stereo wattage of 315, but the amp design for the A07 indicates 48v and at least 7.5amps, giving 360 watts. However, I think 5 or 6 amps is more than you'll ever need unless you're one of "those" listeners, which I am not unless inebriated lol Enjoy the experiments!

I bought in 21 and figured why not for the garage. I hadn't started watching this channel yet. So I picked up an Aiyima A07 Pro based off of this video and holy crap! Two amps under $100 and they couldn't be more different. I'm driving some Infinity bookshelf speakers that were surrounds before and I'm amazed. I just got the fosi bt20a pro. I already owned the TB10D and the BT30pro. This time i opted for the higher voltage 42 volt power supply for the bt20a pro. overall, im a bit disappointed. first, the bt20a pro has a volume knob that looks cool in orange, until you touch it. You can hold it in for 5 seconds to disconnect blue tooth which is great, but the knob is loose and jiggles around when you adjust the volume. if feels so cheap compared to the other fosi stuff. I have not seen this mentioned in any of the reviews i watched. I was expecting to hear LOUDER sound with the 42 volt power supply, and I dont. so overall a bit of a dissapointment for me. I ordered direct from fosi, it came from china and took about 2 weeks. if you dont need blue tooth, the TB10D is the hands down winner for the lower price in my opinion in this match up. I thought the fost 20apro would be a real noticeable difference, it isnt, except for a volume knob that is an embarrassment. the sound is clean and strong, just not any better than the 10D. Let me add something else in here. I bought 4 amps in the past month. 3 Fosi's and one Sony STR DH190. for simply playing music, I would choose the Sony above the Fosi's. it doest have the mini size cool factor, but it has a lot more to offer. It gives you 4 inputs, a remote control, a sleep timer, two speaker outs, a headphone jack, and a 3.5mm input on the front of the unit. it is one slick unit and i own a bunch of way more expensive yamaha recievers, and it SOUNDS GREAT. cost me over 400 bucks to tell you all that so there you go.

and I tried Magni as a speaker amp, connecting my 4 ohms (45 - 60W) speakers to the headphone output.
    It sounds like a dream.
Much better than my old speaker amps,
and (which is the real surprise!) it's loud enough.
There's a multiple of the volume I can allow to myself
    in my living environment.
That little headphone amp can serve my power amp needs,
    totally.
There's no need 40 - 100W power amps in an ordinary living environment.
    I don't even understand it ...
How much power can a Magni serve at 4 ohms ?
    Anyways,
my old, big speaker amps will be "retired" for a while ...

I tested my xduoo mt-602, xduoo mt-601 and topping L30 amps too,
and none of them does this "speaker amp" functionality as well as the Magni.
They make some sound, but it's low volume and/or distorted pretty much.
(On paper they don't even go as low as 4 ohms load impedance.)
But Magni functions as a power amp very well,
even though I didn't find official specification what includes 4 ohms, either.
I would be curious about the official justification why Magni can do it this good.
And if Magni can do that this good, then why can the others not do it ?

    • @gmlgml780
      @gmlgml780 Год назад

      Strange error or symptom
that when I preamp with Heretic (preamp my 2021 or 2023 Magni+ using as power amp)
on the higher gain, somewhere above 75% volume the Heretic cuts off (with a quiet click),
and it comes back only if I lower the volume.
My Magnis do not do that only the Heretic.
Which makes the Heretic a better power (speaker) amp than a preamp.
      Which is funny ... :)

The Ayima A07 Pro and Fosi Audio BT20A Pro are good for a Desktop, Starter or secondary system and has enough power to play anything, but in my opinion they don't compete with the Sony STR-DH190, with its power and features. You got 100 watt per channel at 8 ohms, 3 RCA inputs, and A and B zones, built-n phono pre-amp, Bluetooth, and a really good remote. The amp is also very neutral, so you can pair it with any speakers. Unfortunately, it doesn't cost $100 anymore, but it retails for $199, but they go on sale all the time for $149, which is atill a good buy at that price. It's a great time to be in this hobby since you don't have to spend over a grand to get good sounds and we have so many options nowadays.

There are so many cheap 100 watt non HDMI and older HDMI version receivers for under $40. Size is a huge factor. But if it isn't, would the older class AB tech yield better sound quality? Fosi have confirmed that , despite the fact that they are dual op amps, both must be replaced at the same time (both the socketed ones, I mean). since both have the same amp chip, i'm pretty sure the diff between them is purely made by the op amps. the one with better op amps, will clearly sound way more better than the other one. also, capacitors have a significant role on the sound, the bigger (in Farads) the more "rounded" output sound.
i have bt20a pro and i intend to switch the op amps to MUSES02 (~90$ for both) or Sparkos SS3602 (150$ for both) and maybe use a linear power supply.
the problem is this amp can become way more expensive, from 100$ to almost 300$.
at 300$ I can buy a Yamaha AS201 which will sound better than any class D amp on the market (I simply cannot compare class AB with a class D, AB will always be superior)
from a tinker point of view, it will worth the mod price but from a budget + sound point of view it's clearly not worth the effort.
