Watching Shawn’s mom look up at the rafters, shedding tears of joy as her great son was being honored brought tears to my eyes. Shawn brought so much excitement to my life that I will always cherish. I met Shawn at McDonalds one time and he was so humble and kind. I hated when we traded him …but I’m happy that he got a ring. SSOL could never be as lethal without the Matrix. Congrats for the honor to Mr. Shawn Marion.
I was there screaming as loud as i could last night.Thank you for the great memories Shawn. Got me crying again watching this video! This was a long time coming and well-deserved. Love you Matrix
Thank you, Shawn, You will always be the matrix to us. It broke our hearts when we no longer got the root for you here. But we are all glad you are in the ring of honor now where you belong. Your talent was ubiquitous, you are a unicorn. Nobody could guard you and nobody could elude you. Thank you for the magic of watching you play. There's one playing particular that I will never forget. Someone stole the ball under the basket, or rebounded it, and passed it forward to Steve Nash who passed it forward to you for a dunk. 3 seconds from gaining possession of the ball to you dunking it on the other end without a single dribble. Unfortunately, my memory has failed a little due to COVID, but I remember my passion and love for watching that team play. Here in Phoenix. We have been blessed to have amazing teams that just couldn't quite get the championship. But that doesn't mean we haven't been entertained. You look great, I hope you are in great health, and if you talk to Oliver Miller, tell him he looked great tonight as well. I have been a fan since I was 9 years old, I am the same age as the Suns roughly, how blessed I have been to have such amazing athletes and community leaders to root for over my lifetime.
happy for Shawn to feel the love from the city and the fans, he meant a lot to us who grew up watching the SSOL Suns with Nash & Amar’e they made basketball so fun to watch for me as a kid. I’m glad Shawn and Amar’e are finally being honored and celebrated in the way they deserve, forever in the rafters with the rest of the Suns legends!! shoutout to Matt Ishbia for making it happen
Here's an interesting fact, the first time I watch Suns basketball was when Shawn Marion had that nasty concussion back in February of 2001 against the Jazz. I remembered like it was yesterday, it was a home game and he was carted off on a stretcher. And from that night onward, I became a Suns fan. Congrats Matrix! You've had an amazing career!
I know this common with a lot of former athletes but man his pinky on his shooting hand looks broken badly. But congrats Shawn a pioneer of what todays PF position looks like in an era where PFs were still brusing 7 footers
My favorite SUN, Shawn Mario. He brought it every game. To see someone with so much athleticism out everything on the line every game was just so special.
Well deserved Marion! One of the most underrated players of all time, did everything on rhe court. You will always have a home here, Phoenix will always love you Shawn! God bless you 🙏
I'm genuinely shocked that Shawn Marion never made an all defensive team. He was an easy 11+ RPG, 2+SPG and 1+BPG EVERY NIGHT in his prime. He could guard the best player on any team.
@@zeus4885 he was not washed he kept lebron in check he only averaged like 19ppg and Marion was getting 14 and 7. If you think he doesn't value that's championship as a player you are bugging
@@zeus4885 and even then I'm js if you think he is tripping off of a random game in December idk what to tell you lol if anything old heads dont even want the team to do better than they did
@@jaeehovaa I’m not saying he didn’t impact their championship. He was a great role player on the Mavs, similar to how Jason Kidd was way past his prime as a solid role player for them that season. I’m sure that championship means a lot to him, but I can assure you that he values his time in Phoenix much more, when he was at the peak of his game in his prime as an all star who played a major role in revolutionizing the game of basketball with that 7 seconds or less team. He won his title but when he thinks of his career, he identifies as a Sun, not a Maverick
Shawn Marion was the reason I started watching NBA basketball. I was in 3 or 4 grade when I first found his Phoenix suns card laying out on the floor in my school somewhere. I didn't care anything about basketball but from that day I never looked back literally 20 years later I'm still a fan still have his jersey. The Reason I liked him so much He was always different, from his play, demeanor, and the way he carried his self. It was like a scene from the matrix and only mirrored his play. Shawn Marion Glad you won in Dallas almost had one more in Cleveland sorry Phoenix couldn't do it but if we didn't trade you-you would have never won a ring something we fans desire greatly. Thanks Matrix 31
Love how the new owner is giving respect to the old players that Sarver never did. Its been a long time coming. Amare, Marion, nash. We need Barbosa and bell next 🎉🎉 didn't win the chip. But as a suns fan? It was an exciting team.
Definitely deserves it he always was a energy guy he never got tired always moving couldn’t be a better person to receive this honor congratulations I know his cousin’s here In Milwaukee they say he’s a very very nice and absolutely great guy

You can tell Shawn is a great humble man because of his Mother

Thank you Arizona Sports for filming this and posting it. It's great to be able to see Shawn's ceremony all the way up in Michigan.
Watching this in the morning here in Nairobi Kenya 🇰🇪💜🧡

Well deserved! Definitely one of the best and most entertaining players that ever played in the NBA.
His mom made me cry of happiness for her
Awesome moment for him and family. Well deserved!
it was an honor to watch you play Shawn, even bigger honor you were a sun. I'm glad you got your well deserved flowers
Sucks we didn’t win it all those years. Getting suspensions for nothing was ridiculous. 😢 love Shawn! So glad to see him in the ring of honor
So happy for Matrix. My personal favorite Suns player I've ever watched play. Congrats man!

My favorite Phoenix Sun of all time. #31
Both are legend, they have so much respect each others

Pretty cool that dirk showed up. I know they were teammates at one point but u never really hear of the rival showing up.
Marion deserved a ring with the suns.
Well deserved! Great player!

The fact that they made him sit through that 4th quarter is a total disgrace. You deserve better than that Shawn
I don't think he cares, he won a ring with Dallas he don't give a fuck lol

He'll need a retirement now in Dallas. That 2011 team needs to be retired in dallas

Their banners are so plain.
Dan bickley don’t know anything about basketball, he’s annoying not even from the valley
Once of the Best
