The muslim rule in Iberian peninsula is a well documented historical event. They were mainly the muslims of North Africa and Arabs. The indigenous inhabitants looked no different than the ones in southern Africa. We have a different name that translates to Berber. It's similar, but spelled differently. The Caucasians that you see in Morocco, Algeria, Egypt, Yemen, Arabia or mixed are not real Berbers.
