- Today I give a tour of Sheila - my minivan tiny house complete with a full kitchen, bedroom, office, living room, and meditation spot. Plus I talk about my journey into vanlife and minimalism.
You have one of the best minivan build-outs I've seen
We need this guy to be involved in our children's education. He has a unique way of thinking that we need in today's mad world.
This is the best minivan set up I’ve seen, you have so much storage! Great job!
Whoa this is the best mini van conversation I've ever seen. I love it. Mines so painfully basic lol
In a chrysler pacifica just add one REI adjustable cot, zero degree sleeping bag, water and for LUXURY add a goal zero and your set, the vehicle has rear auto AC and heat and remote start and auto all doors=SWEET!
Really well done. Great explanations for the way it all works.
Oh hey its you again
Check out his most recent van build Gladys
conversion
My compliments! One of the best van builds I’ve seen. Suggestion, instead of storing so many books, use a library app like Libby, get a library card, then you can download any book, magazines, etc. you want to read or listen to on your phone, laptop, or tablet.
WOW! You fit so much in your minivan conversion without it feeling cramped! Good job! Vanlife Goals.
What a great use of the available space, really an excellent job.
Your electricity story doesn't work however, 2 of these 6 volt batteries in series makes 12 volts up to there it's right, but that doesn't dubble the Amps, you'll get twice the Amps only if the 2 batteries of 6 volts are connected in parallel, but that's no use to you. ATB, Peter.
He worries me with the electric wires in such close proximity to an open water area...frightening!
@@willowsverge3046 RIGHT! I thought the same thing!
@@monicathebeautiful6483 Anybody see any fuses anywhere???
Best minivan conversion I’ve seen so far. I’m in the process of converting my Odyssey so I can do travel nursing.
Thank you so much! I've seen a lot if other minivans, but the Odyssey seems to be the best. I would love to see your build!
I was thinking of doing a minivan conversion whenever my current car kicks the bucket but I was having so many reservations. After seeing your build I’m definitely doing it! 😍
Your story is so much like mine. Thank you for sharing this amazing build!!
You made a great video. Like your dog and the van is awesome
So cozy and peaceful the perfect home💜
Shiela is one hell of a woman/ sorry home! Good job. Best dyi conversion of minivan I’ve seen. You are so organised ! Thank you for sharing her with us. All the best to you!
When we realize how little space we really need, a tiny house or van life works for many people. I stopped heating the house and sit on the couch with a heated blanket. It is far more efficient than heating the entire house, as you point out. And I much prefer to be outside when possible. My next house will be far smaller because it is too easy to fill space with things we don't need. Thanks for a great video.
WOW!! I’ve been thinking the same things about living in a minivan life with Honda Odyssey! Love the way you created your own sanctuary at such a perfect layout.....
I wish I’m a half as handy person I could be.... I know what I want but I don’t know how.... 🤣🤷♂️🤦♂️
This is my favorite van build. Your van is awesome!
Fascinated with your build...
Missed the bathroom facilities....
This van build is so cool love the sink
very neat space , for everything 👍👍
You can never go wrong with someone named Matthews....not sure about Matts though. Thank you for putting the miniature statue of Ganesha !
New subscriber. Hmmmm, not sure if I like your new or old setup better. FYI, the dollar store version of wrinkle remover spray works great!
Love you set up. great conversion. as long has you like that whst counts.
Thank you Matthew! I'm looking at mini-vans for camping~ emergency living. I appreciate your excellent layout and very nice tour of your healthy lifestyle! Thank You for sharing the cool ideas. My current Jeep has been a 'car camper' but a mini-van is definitely better for full-time. Hope you can get it running again!
Wow best one ever!!! Loving it and definitely using some of your ideals
I love this and will be using a lot of your ideas... It’s the biggest difference on how things work out by thinking things through properly ie living in the rains or the sunshine 🌞
Wow such a great detailed review. Hanging closet? Easily cook inside or outside. And electric system too! Love this build! Thank you. Copying!
So sweet. That dog loves you
LOL, liked this video 40 seconds in. Can't wait to see the rest! :)
Beautifully explained and I think u can live comfortable instead paying lots of rent n working all time for rent Beautiful concept this is a smarthome
Surprised you didn't go with a toyota senna. I bought one this summer.Thats a sweet setup man enjoyed the entire video..
This is Cassandra. Not Jesse. Your minivan is cozy and magical! Yours is one of my favorites! ...Blessed Be! )O(
Great setup! Love campervans
Great layout
I really enjoyed this video! You covered a great deal. Thank you so much!!
Nice van build.
COOL! Chop sticks on board! Kathy always laughs at me because I keep a chop stick in the house bathroom. They do come in handy! Now, all you need is something from YELLOW SUBMARINE! You good friend Vinny in good old Fla.
I just had this suggested to me and see that you haven't posted any new videos in a while. I hope you check old comments.
I was wondering if you get the dash warning lights because of the removal of the passenger seat? If not how did you get around that?
Wow that’s awesome
Very good use of space. You have that hippie vibe. Too bad you missed the 70's.
Very nice, I'm right there with you.. broke down at the moment..but it will all work out... great video ,nice place. ...
Your layout is one of the best I've seen (and I've seen a lot!)
I'm currently in the middle of doing my conversion and looking to do a similar layout.
Thanks for the inspiration
I bought a 03 honda odyssey lxi and this is what i wanna do for a weekend trip or taking 1 week vacation. I want to built something that i can pull everything out when im done.
Matthew, I enjoyed your video about your van conversion. Not the Buddha stuff, but absolutely everything else.
How do you handle the toiletry/bath issues?
And, is the 2 gallon pump sprayer in your kitchen food grade?
Thanks in advance for your feedback.
Good job!
Karen Murphy I don’t see why you had to go out of your way to say you don’t enjoy his Buddha stuff. I wonder how you would feel if someone said the same about your religion or whatever he uses all that stuff for. Our society is too negative and for lack of a better term, not very thoughtful of others. I would’ve left that out of your question. Just saying....stay safe and take care.
Enjoy!!!!
Nice build and layout. Is you bed 6 feet long? Thanks....
Great throughout build
What are you going to do now that your van isn't running?
Nice build man. Hope to see you on the road sometime. We travel with a group of built out vans pretty regularly these days. -#lovehut4life
Hope you get your van fixed. Strange you have a lot of veiws & trolls for a small channel. Cute dog great van set up.
And you have a dog too! Excellent.
I would love to see what you could do with a lil horse trailer tiny home!
Beautiful guy
Nice set up for vanlife, but too bad the van isn't running. Hopefully you've had a chance to fix the engine by now
you add up Volatage or Ah, never both, in your case you add 6+6 = 12V but Amps stay as they are
It is great-seems perfect-always wonder about your mail and which address do you use for driver’s license/registration/taxes/ banks/ etc and of course car insurance? Everybody gets important info in the mail at times and post office boxes not always accepted-I guess a relative’s address is best if they own their own home and don’t mind-a renter may not be allowed to help in that area
You're adorable. Good luck😍😍😍🙃🙃
Very innovative you have good ideas who s front lawn area you on
Love the van. Also like the phrases "up under" and "up over". Is that a southern thing?
Takata Science midwest
I've been watching a lot of build and really like yours!! I'm struggling to find any infos on a diy sink tho. would u kindly explain how u made yours ? if it worked well over time, cause in your new kitchen build i didn't really get if you were just gonna use the tub or the sink with grey water again! Thanks a lot!
The 2 gallon pump sprayer from Home Depot worked great, although this new van has a stand for the sprayer. Holding the sprayer to wash dishes in my last build was pretty annoying. But being able to have a sink that didn't draw power was ideal. In the next couple of weeks I'll be doing a full tour of the van, and I'll show how this new setup works. Thanks for watching, and I'm glad you liked the build!
@@60matthews81 I meant the diy drain for grey water under the sink! I'll be watching as I'm doing a build at the moment. Thanks
Oh, yeah my first system was terrible. I wanted to replace it at some point, but never got around to it. The new system is working out much better.
Great design
I love it
Do you have plans for that bed I can see?
Email me at 60Matthews@gmail.com and I can get you something.
well organised
Great Vid!
What type of couch is that
I would put the fuel vertically
I hope you meet a good educated life partner and live normally. May God bless you.
...... normally?
If you don’t mind saying how much did this conversion cost you?
It's hard to say because the whole thing took me about a year to build out, and I didn't track my $$$. Without the van itself it's probably somewhere around 1,500. That's the fridge, the lumber, the electrics, the mattress, and everything else I'm forgetting.
What? It doesn't run? I don't get it!
What kind of mattress did you use?
How come you have Ganesha And baphomet pentagram almost side-by-side
Maybe I don’t know something
Ying and yang...lol.
Is she working now? The van
nice job
tell me about your alcohol stove........where and how much?........🙋♀️
Looks like a butane stove. About $20- on amazon or walmart camping section. Fuel bottles are $2-3. Gas one makes a duel fuel version you can also run on propane. About $35-40.
Whoops. The alcohol stove looks like a Trangia open spirit stove.
@@matthoward1174 .......yeah, i've seen those stoves........i want an alcohol stove........the one he spoke of in the video.......i have looked everywhere and cannot find one........propane/butane stoves are what i get when i 'search' for an alcohol stove online........please.......give the guy in the video an opportunity to respond to my inquiry.........have been searching months for this item.......thank you........🙋♀️
@@carlaifera5254 AMAZON
@@minivanlinda1762 ......yeah......i've seen those pocket/hiking stoves.......i'm talking about the nice one or two burner stoves amazon used to carry......i'm trying to get info from the guy who made this video.......he will know how to get the stove he spoke of in this vid.......🙋♀️
😄 thanks for sharing 👍 we share same value let’s talk ...
Can a solar panel allow me to cook or run a fan to keep cool?
No, it will only charge your cell phone or trickle charge an auxiliary battery.
It’s so frustrating that so many Van life or mini van life people rarely address the bathroom situation!!! Why is it so taboo to talk about poo?!? Lol Everyone does it!! Sorry to be such a Britta (Community reference).
I’m very strongly considering living in my car or getting a minivan and I pee several times a day and poop at least 2 times a day. I’m a female and so that means it’s not as easy to just whip it out into an empty bottle or out the door or whatever, so hearing what other people’s bathroom solutions are so I can preparing mentally. I also would not want to be going out alone to a public restroom in the middle of the night. So far I can think of a bucket and two bags inside one for 1 and 1 for 2. Maybe some hamster bedding. But I also don’t want to use plastic bags. Ughhh just wish people would talk about it more.
Also, how is traveling with a dog?? I adopted an amazing pitty mix this June and I would definitely want to bring him with me. Any “must knows” for living minivan life with a large dog?
Thank you!! I did very much enjoy your video and I like the layout a lot!! It has so much counter space and I appreciate that :).
sweet home alabama
Nice job.....and coffee maker make it home. 😃
hey, maybe i missed it... but, what kind of van is that, dodge caravan?
99-04 Honda Odyssey
@@minivanlinda1762 oh, i like the Honda Odyssey's but I was told that they often have transmission issues. Is the problem that your having also with the transmission?
It looks nice (not crowed inside ) what is the Length and Weight of your bed which allowed good floor space
Nice
this is great to see. i also have a honda Odessy, although mine is a couple years older than yours! i've been getting some ideas for hoping to eventually transition to van life
Sim, excelente ideia poder cozinhar dentro e fora do carro, ter uma grande área de trabalho e roupas penduradas em cabides. Minha única crítica em 9:17: Um cano solto de água e bateria lado a lado. Não!
Would u b interested in building this for me? How much would you charge?
🇨🇦👩🏽👍🏽
Why super loud music? Everything is to close to see how it fits together. The van is the object we want to see not utensils or you
May I ask if you are a gamer?
Do u ever get mice in your van?
I mean, I won't say it's never happened.
That is what I was wondering....oatmeal and grains not in tin cans. Maybe dog scares them away..
@@MelindaMc mice don't like peppermint oil. I sprinkle it everywhere and they disappear. And the smell is pleasant.
i love ur hands. sexy af! ik, I'm weird af bruh. lol
SHOWER??? POTTY???
You're a young guy, healthy and obviously smart...so, why aren't you working? Just drinking coffee, looking at your "prayer flags", watching tv...you have some good ideas for making a tiny space into a studio apt. environment...hope you can "find" yourself somewhere and get a job. Do something with your life. Hope you do!
Chantel Labonne do your research instead of spewing hate. He’s a writer with published work. I’m sure he makes much more than both of us combined. People like you are what’s wrong with today’s country....nothing but hatred and bullying. Please grow up and fix your heart.
Yep, yet another disturbing van conversion. This is very low class. 10 bucks worth of used wood and a crap load of thrift store add ins. Shame!!
Terry Roy dude get a life. cuz his aint yours.
This is his life. He has a life. A purpose. A good life. A good van to share his creation, his minimalism.
Go to sleep Terry Roy. If you can’t say anything nice- hush!
Love the layout. You utilized all the space to the max, and it's still open, convenient and comfy looking.
Hello I'm a van life for me and my wife just started 6 months ago and we live in a 2003 Chevy Astro that we are modifying
No, no, no, no, no. Two 6V batteries in series double the voltage to 12V and the SAME Ahrs, 220 Ahrs.
rstevewarmorycom I was looking for this comment
WOW, been watching van build outs for three years. This is hands down the best! Very thorough presentation.👍
Much respect, I wish you success in everything that you do.
This has been the most like the conversion I’ve had in mind. I’m very glad to see that you’ve made it work so well, and gives me hope! Thanks for the tour
Hey Mathew, I totally get where you’re coming from and where you’ve gone. Such a wonderful build and use of space, and the convenience of everything within arms reach - genius. Plus the coffee/tea/cocoa bar under desk ideal. The sink pan and sprayer is great too. My only thought is why the wastebasket for grey water? A jug would be so much easier to empty.
I lived in a 30’ sailboat and built my kitchen for similar access while standing. Much more preferable and efficient.
I’m just building my Honda Element and wish it had the hidden storage your odyssey does.
But think I’ll adapt some of your ideas. Thanks for sharing, I just subscribed.
New to your channel!
Love your Van.
