Some advice from me will be, 1.When shooting paint make sure you have the pressure running about 27 to 30 psi. 2.Never shoot paint when it’s cold because your chances of getting orange peel are a lot higher. So shoot paint when it’s warm preferably 70-80 and if it’s to hot out side you’ll also have a chance of getting orange peel. 3.Make sure you wait 15-20 minutes before applying the next coat of paint and apply clear coat towards the end.
A tip I would give is that since you are painting a really transparent color you should have sealed the whole truck that way it will match other panels that are different colors but looked good at the end
I’m new subscriber just to see this Mini truck get transformed looks clean brother good to see that someone still interested in mini trucks like back in the day when I was growing up
Urethan primer, 3 coats. Start dry sand with 240grit then flush with 320 grit, using a block where you can. The wet sand with 400, 500, 600 and finish woth 800 grit. Come back with a gray scotch brite and sanding sludge, was with dawn dish soap. Blow and clean with wax and grease remover. Use tack rag and Devilbiss antistatic rag. Apply 1 to 2 coats of primer sealer (paint label shows required sealer valueshade) then spray your paint. 2 medium wet coats should be enough to achieve hiding.
Yo congrats on the new paint job! I will soon be painting my Nissan laurel C35 and I am going to be using primer first before I paint, Is there any reason why you didint use it? But my god it still turned out amazing by the looks of it!
Nice! Simply to keep the cost down since I’m going to be thrashing this truck and I know the paint won’t last anymore then a year or so since I’ll most likely get bored and want to change colors
@@STONEBROKEGARAGE Ah got ya man! That's fair enough when I saw you laying the first paint down I was like oh god... But then when you finished I was like wow...He did a fucking good job haha Just found your channel out will be keeping an eye on this channel man! Keep up the good work!
I just got a 86 720 long passed down and it’s bonetstock I wnat to lower it and I looked at the front bushings and they are cracked so ima get the replacement but what else do I replace before I lower it. Has 180xxx miles
You actually gotta wet sand with 600 grit it helps have Less orange peel and when you polish it you can’t even see any orange peel and you shouldn’t wet the the ground where you were painting to help prevent any dust from flying up onto the truck overall you were doing it well
Yo bro you think with a 8:1 fmu, stock injectors Ill be safe to daily on a 8psi wastegate? Also nice channel bro, youve got some dope builds under your belt.
Thank you man I appreciate it, 8psi is on the high side in my opinion but as long as your not driving on 8psi at all times you should be good. Be careful with the fmu, when they work, they work good but when they don’t it’s bites you in the food so just make sure you get a quality fmu as I didn’t.
Looks good. Cleanliness is key when painting. Dont be afraid to use a few rags when cleaning with acetone. I recommend micro fiber rags they leave minimal lint. Maybe a little more pressure will reduce orange peel. It's difficult to have a consistent pressure with a 21 gallon compressor.. overall looks good 👍
Glad you had fun wi thg your first experience. Note: when or if you decide to repaint, do it with the bed off so you can get behind the cab and front of bed areas.
You could have got that better gun from Harbor Freight that black widow one and you should have got some tack rags between coats you could wipe it down r came out really good and then your PS I would have been like around 28 32 ...psi..... I'm not a professional painting either but by looking at other people do it that's all I did in my job come up pretty good you can say but like you said your first time next time you will get it and it looks pretty nice too good job....
I always liked those Hardbody Nissan's I'm thinking about getting one... if I buy one I will hit you up for tips about them and keep up the good work man I love watching your Channel my brother has a Nissan 240 just like the one you have
turned out amazing and if you sand it down and make it like glass like you did on that one piece it will be perfect! personally i would have lost the water trap, i dont use them on the cheaper guns in my experience you dont really need it. that purple gun is a good option, but if you want a better trigger feel you could always go for one thats a little more money. also if you do this again i recommend covering up exposed skin! chemicals in the paint arent good for you. you guys did a great job!
I spray Shopline JAU and Nason single stage (when applicable) and color sand and buff the next day. I never had any problems in the last 18 years of professional painting.
@@lukeo9459 It works even when I spray Imron single stage over a Robinson R22 helicopter. Read the tech sheet. It will tell you the time required before you can polish. Shopline JAU is 8 hours after force dry.
This came out soo great man
👌✨☺️
I didn't even see that dent behind thr drivers door until you painted it yellow. Nice job though. I'm glad my project truck is white.
Thanks for the motivation I’m building an ls s10 right now and I haven’t been filming but now I think I’ll pick the camera back up 💯 nice color

That’s pretty badass !

Is that a primer and paint in one? Primer should be the first thing you do after sanding
Don't need primer if it's going over paint, primer, or clear. As long as he didn't cut into metal or filler it should be fine.
@@haydencook3245 its to prevent rust. If he chips the paint he´s gonna rust the whole thing out. The paint also sticks 5x better
If you seal it in white sealer first the yellow will cover really well.
Love the wheels what type of wheels?
15x10 steelies
Nice thanks

Just a tip, your way to close to the car with the gun. You also want a wider spray
Thanks man I’ll try both of those next time !
Yeah man, it slows down all the orange peel. Less buffing. 🤘
Thats hella smart n dope af. Damn making me wanna fix a mini truck

Not bad 🤘🏻

What’s the actual color ? Just plain yellow or what and how much paint did you use. looks killer by the way
