Where at in MN? I grew up in SE MN...Lutheran Church until I left in the late 90s. Our church tore down the outhouses in the mid to late 1980s. We had benches, and I'm confident that went back probably to the beginning...my family was there for 5 generations. Great video.
Thanks Brad for sharing your photos and poignant video! My family lives in Ranchester, Wy. There is a community of Apostolic Luthern’s there. I’d never heard of the denomination before.
It was used to write the page numbers of the hymnal or missal that corresponded to that particular sunday, so that the congregation could follow along. They are still used today, only it isn't usually a chalkboard, but one with number cards
What a lovely old church that has not been vandalised. Everything left inside as if it will be used again.💗💗
I wish someone would bring it back to life and use it for small wedding parties, it would be so wonderful.
Yeah
I think it might be a museum because it looks like it has a pretty new roof and it has the chairs, etc inside.
We have an 1800s school around the corner that is now a museum and we have an old outhouse in our backyard.
Went to this a couple weeks ago. Really neat place! Managed to squeeze through the one broken window, didn’t break/disrupt anything though.

SW MN.
Cool! I would repaint it if I lived nearby. The front handrails look mid-1900s, so it could've been used in the past few decades.
In the description, it says it was abandoned about 10 years ago.
I'd like to renovate it and live in it.
That was my first thought. Better than tearing it down.
It would be amazing to have a small Church congregation there again.
Thanks for sharing. We have a few like this in IL and a few old 1 room zchool houses. But only a few.

Beautiful! My maiden name was Conklin….from Ponsford
Where is the location of this church? I have friends that might be willing to purchase this church and bring it back to life.
someone was baptized,confirmed,married ,sang in choir,funeral held,wow
Another abandoned church. You see what is happening. We need to reconnect with God.
Could just be the population moved away from a small town.
@johnball8758 Accept there are many abandoned churches across the country.
Why is there like a monitor in the corner tho?
Had the same thought.
But I think it's just a Blackboard. Would be a strange aspect ratio for a monitor.
@ThomasPelk i thought so after a second look, also, no wires no nothing related to computers around it

Probably for putting what hymns to sing for the service...a blackboard or something like that.
Somebody please paint it.
Looks like a new roof a Huge Plus..
It was probably still used up to the 2000s
