mine's 15 years old, never had a problem he can go off leash, when i tell him to walk beside me he does wont go after cats / small animals (only when they are in his back yard, and yes, it's his, indoor is mine) loves small dogs and elderly folk never tried to escape, not even once he is nearing his end of life tho, and i'm pretty devastated about it, but he had a good life and he enriched mine completely do research, treat them with the respect they deserve and you'll have a friend for life
