I remember watching her last year and from what I’ve seen this year I’m all aboard the Hannah Hidalgo bandwagon. She has quickly become my favorite women’s college basketball player. She’s obviously good enough to win college player of the year as is. In terms of the WNBA, the height will be an obvious challenge, but there have been hall of fame WNBA players as short or shorter than her like Dawn Staley and Becky Hammon. I’m hoping she creates a new model in the WNBA of what a successful WNBA player can look like (ie, one who can be the 1st or 2nd best player on a championship team). Maybe be like an Isiah Thomas like guard in the NBA. The usual knock against shorter players is that they get taken advantage of on defense. But I’ve seen interviews where she says her favorite part of basketball is on-ball pressure. She’s been described as a linebacker or free safety on defense-a menace on defense. Also, it’s not like WNBA players are incredible athletes who will back smaller players down and dunk over them. She led the NCAA in steals last year and won ACC defensive player of the year. Moreover, Jordin Canada and Dana Evan’s weren’t scoring 22+ ppg as a freshman or 25 ppg as a sophomore. She seems to have the complete offensive and defensive game. And I’ve never seen a women’s player as competitive as her, which is something you can’t teach but is rare and valuable (the difference between Andre Wiggins vs Anthony Edwards or Vince Carter vs Kobe Bryant-explains why the latter achieved so much more in that they’re competitive psychopaths like Jordan in the best way possible). I’m all in. Lmao

Her height shouldn't scare you. There have been plenty of short guards that have entered the W and did well. Stop listen to people with old stereotypes of what a female basketball Ayer should look like. Even the Sky's GM, Jeff P, is an old skool just looking at 6ft PG. She is right and it is good that she states it. She does not need to be in the closet with her thoughts, right? Why can't the most accepting people -GAYS - get along and not get their feelings hurt. There is a saying the truth hurts, right? Case in point, Martin Luther King Jr helped millions with the truth, and he died as a result.
