I get the "Marmite" reference. I like Marmite, though I'm still to be convinced about Lewis Dodd. I'm willing to be convinced, so I'll leave it at that. But I'm going to do what you said not to, and compare him with someone else. You've got Cas on May 10th. After the best part of two seasons out with injury, they've got Danny Richardson fully fit again. I'll watch that game with interest to see if you made the right choice. If you did, fair enough. Meantime, Dodd must be under a bit more pressure this year, as Moses Mbye has played a lot of games at 7.

“Don’t put pressure on him” and “he should be twice the player of the Wigan scrum half” in the same video😂😂 That Wigan scrum half has developed ten fold this past few years and is playing at a level Dodd has never been at. I don’t see Dodds obvious strengths, whereas it’s clear what the ‘Wigan Scrum half’ does unbelievably well.

Is that first one a quote from the video?

Before the Good Friday 2022 game, Lewis was the best young half in England. He hasn't responded well since and Smith has progressed amazingly well in comparison. I don't think it's totally his own fault. I don't think he's been advised well. As I've said in the past, he was isolated last year and had no runners, therefore looked completely clueless. His kicking game, particularly the attacking kicks were terrible. The one thing that annoys me more than anything about Wellens's Saints is that nothing chip kick straight in the full back's hands! He doesn't need to look much further than Nathan Cleary... the way he mixes up his kicks, organises play and is the focal point is the way top class 7s should be doing. Smith is doing it at Wigan and why he deserves his place as the top dog.
