Roast meats, ham & roast potatoes with various salads for us in Tasmania. 22 people at our house for Christmas lunch/tea. It was a lovely day.

I don't peel my veg. I chop up carrots, parsnips, a sweet potato, some little fingerling potatoes and Brussels and roast them all in a pan with olive oil, salt and pepper and dill for an hour.

I laughed at your sprout hiding stories. My late father in law was not a fan but used to have one ‘ for medicinal purposes’. I love sprouts and at Christmas have them with chestnuts and chopped bacon. Other veg are roast potatoes and parsnips, carrots and red cabbage .
Hope you had a good Christmas. Poor Molly was showing some determination to get her ball back. Was your sprouts nice and did your kids eat there one sprout
I'm glad it's all nearly over, I'm not conventional I had lettuce advocado balsamic vinegar followed by sprouts with home made mayonnaise then poached salmon on toast for my Christmas dinner

A tip for roasters is boil them, let them cool, cover in fat and they can be stored in fridge or freezer a couple of days before the day. I cooked everything 2 days before the day except gravy (just left the stock in a jug ready) and did the roasters on the day which don't take long because they are already cooked, just crisp them up as normal and they do not taste any different. Hi Carla, your Christmas dinner sounds delicious, I have the same problem with the old Brussell sprouts but this year I roasted them as I do with all my veggies, I had pumpkin carrots parsnips sweet potato, and normal roasted potatoes, so tasty, :):)

I've never had bad veg from Aldi every thing comes local (Scotland ) mind you ,a lot of times if you buy a bag of oranges the supermarkets will stick a dodgy one in !! Haha merry Xmas
I had pre-made parmentier potatoes that were reduced in Tesco. I also got sprouts and carrots from Tesco for 19p a bag. I roasted the veg and potatoes in the oven in one dish. I hope you had a lovely Christmas. Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to you & your family . I got a stick of sprouts about 3 weeks ago in Lidl for 99p . They kept very fresh & tasted good . However I couldn't find any like that recently . xx
For future video ideas Carla I wondered whether you would do a video every so often where you talk about how you are getting on in your weight loss journey but you also have a subscriber on the video who has been losing weight and asking them how they are getting on and any tips and ideas to help along the way. Think that would be good as it means the subscribers that follow you pn you calorie crush and have been trying to lose weight are included in future videos. Just a thought I had a few weeks back x

I haven't had a drink this year, its usually a small baileys but I get drunk quick and my sons girlfriend was here, I didn't want to show myself up. Our veg consists of parsnips, brocoli and carrots, sprouts if my other son comes for dinner, he's the only one that likes them. If he comes i buy a bag of frozen sprouts do him about 10 then send him home with the rest of the bag. Xx About 3 years ago when I used to buy all fresh veg, I had the slimy problem when I came to prepare it so now I purchase frozen, I've never had a problem since. We had honey and garlic roasted parsnips and carrots and roasted potatoes.
My mum is also a veg avoider! When she was ill and I was her carer for about a year, she had the best nutrition of her life as I cooked all her meals and hid all of the veggies blended into anything with a sauce.
I'm the only one that eats sprouts or christmas pudding... and generally, I don't eat it on the day. I also buy an extra Christmas pudding to eat at my birthday in July 😄

Hi Carla, I’m a fairly new follower and love your videos (especially your honesty and humour - you make me howl with laughter at times!). I’ve been trying to sell some of my stuff on eBay recently (I’m not a reseller - just some of my personal stuff) to make a little more cash (cost of living blah blah) and I wonder if you might consider doing a “crash course” on the best way to navigate eBay. For example, is it better to do a “buy it now” or a make “offers” available. Anyway, just thought I’d ask as shy bairns get nae sweeties!

We did! They're all still available to watch although of course they won't be very relevant now lol
You have a much healthier meal than we do! We have ham balls, meatballs, turkey, fried green beans with bacon, sweet potatoes with brown sugar and butter baked on top, corn casserole, hash brown cheesey potatoes, rolls, and of course pecan pie, cherry pie, pumpkin roll, sugar cookies, pb cookies, snickerdoodles and cinnamon ice cream. Oh and don’t forget the starters…cheese ball and crackers and veggie pizza. And we eat leftovers all week! But we do love our carbs!
