The Middle East is a region that after the discovery of oil, has gone through one of the most accelerated modernization processes in the world. It went from being basically just a desert 🐪🏝️, to becoming an example of the modern cities including some of the tallest buildings in the world.
Countries like The United Arab Emirates (UAE), Qatar and Saudi Arabia have spent Billions of dollars building towers made of glass with futuristic looks. But there is a country that has gone in a completely different direction.
I’m talking about the beautiful country of Oman 🇴🇲
This place has rules against building higher than 40 meters, rules to keep the country relaxed like the fact that is forbidden to use the horn of the car, or disturb public tranquility, and when you arrive here, and you meet their people, it all makes sense. Omanis are extremely chilled, nice and welcoming, and their country definitely represents their style.
I 100% recommend visiting this country because not only is the oldest country in the Arab world, but they are truly trying to conserve their culture, and it’s amazing

@@CheetahNLAh yes, Wikipedia. I'm from Oman, and I'll let you know the real experience with them.
Now, generally the laws around LGBT are rarely applied, and are saved for some extreme cases. I'm hoping you read the "public scandal" part? They only do it when said person has a large following behind them. I've lived here for 20 years and I've only ever seen it applied once.
Aside from that, there are a few Omanis who do identify with LGBT who live a (somewhat) completely normal life. I personally know some people who are gay.
However, you're right on the fact that Omanis in general aren't that fond of them. That is because Omanis don't really like promiscuity, and want to preserve their traditional Islamic values.
That's not to say that LGBT people aren't welcome, as Omanis also pride themselves to be very hospitable and tolerant to guests. As long as a person doesn't preach their western values to them, you'll generally have a good experience with them.

Oman is a beautiful country. I’ve spent some time there and just love everything about it … especially the pomegranate!
At this point. I think RUclips is reading my mind. I saw a video mentioning about Oman yesterday but I didn't know much about the country. Now see, a perfect video. 😂

@Halal Gigachad I'm not surprised Portugal lost that game. They were more focused on not passing to Ronaldo rather than winning the match.
THE GUY AT THE END WAS MY OMAN TOUR GUIDE!!!
Congratulations Oman , I would definitely visit a place like that, a country that preserves his traditions. Love from Portugal.
fun fact: oman was controlled by Portugal once
@@im_sorry7020 thanks for the reply, actually I knew that already;)

In terms of the cityscape, I can appreciate keeping it lowrise, on a human scale.

I have been in Oman for a year and a half. Amazing people and country. Very relaxed, stress-free, and safe.
Omanis are the most adorable, lots of love from Egypt to our brothers ❤
It’s so peaceful to live there honestly! I lived almost 8 years of my life & it was amazing!❤
I desperately hope you lived 8 years of your life because I don't think a 7 year old should be able to comment 😂😂

I have lived in Oman for 9 months. I can tell you that it is the most calm country with zero crime rate.people are so humble.you will love the culture and atmosphere of Oman.
How is the gap between rich and poor? Is it easy for poorer citizens to get a free education and have social climbing?
What about people's freedom? Can a homosexual live a peaceful life? What about a woman who cheats on her husband? Is there a punishment for apostates?
Also, what about unmarried couples. Can they live together?
@Ruben RN dude this is a muslim country don't expect any of that, that's promiscuous in Islam and their eyes.
Only married couples can live together and if someone is homosexual they can in no way show that in public
If this isn't comfortable for someone who wants a western open minded life don't do that in a muslim country, respect the modest religion and culture
@@renalm8160 “modest religion” you guys are the least modest and most extreme religion on earth 😂
Even tho Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, and Kuwait looks beautiful with the skyscrapers they have, I like the idea of Oman
God bless the peaceful people in the region. They all nice
You won me at “instead of going wild they are going relaxed”
It’s a beautiful country with a very relaxed atmosphere! I loved Oman :) a jam of a place
Its ok to stay as a tourist...
Let me guess your a straight white woman?
Try being anything but the cookie cutter mold and they’ll kill you
This guy is acting as though skyscrapers are "Western" while completely forgetting that most of Europe Europe has banned skyscrapers for at least 200 years, with the Eiffel Tower being the tallest building in all of Europe... Unless you count Russia and England as part of Europe. And the Eiffel Tower isn't even that big.
