Also when you're gay, for example? I have no idea about Oman, but the region is not very friendly to people that are "different". Edit: Never mind, they are as close minded as the rest of the region: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LGBT_rights_in_Oman
@@CheetahNLAh yes, Wikipedia. I'm from Oman, and I'll let you know the real experience with them. Now, generally the laws around LGBT are rarely applied, and are saved for some extreme cases. I'm hoping you read the "public scandal" part? They only do it when said person has a large following behind them. I've lived here for 20 years and I've only ever seen it applied once. Aside from that, there are a few Omanis who do identify with LGBT who live a (somewhat) completely normal life. I personally know some people who are gay. However, you're right on the fact that Omanis in general aren't that fond of them. That is because Omanis don't really like promiscuity, and want to preserve their traditional Islamic values. That's not to say that LGBT people aren't welcome, as Omanis also pride themselves to be very hospitable and tolerant to guests. @Torben Rudgaard okay this is going to be fun. Now third of all we stopped implementing the death penalty years ago, the maximum sentence I've seen was 5 years in prison because a gay couple from Sweden fornicated in a public park. Now fourth off all, even in wars inoccent people who were atheists were never killed by command so what makes you think that we kill them nowadays? And finally rape, I really wanted to give you a nice clean smack for even mentioning this because I want to gloat, u ready to hear this? The entire Middle East yes the entire Middle East has LESS rape cases then any country in the world, India? Way more, united States? You'd pass out if you knew, EVEN CANADA HAS MORE RAPE CASES THEN THE MIDDLE EAST so mow that you know this information what are you gonna do? Become a better person, or are you gonna keep making assumptions? Even through all of this us omanis would still love to have you guys over

As long as a person doesn't preach their western values to them, you'll generally have a good experience with them.

Such a beautifully authentic country. I was lucky enough to visit several countries in that region (most of which were super impressive), but Oman has a soul. I'm not saying the others don't, but I felt it here.
Saudi Arabia: is the rich kid who hangs out with the best kids in the school and drives a Rolls-Royce.
Dubai/UAE: is the rich and famous kid who comes to school every day with a different Lamborghini
Kuwait: the rich kid that's always quiet and doesn't talk to anybody.
Qatar: the rich, attention seeking kid who wants everyone to like him. His father owns the school.
Oman: He is the rich kid but pretends to be poor because he doesn't want attention. But everyone knows he is rich. He is loved by everyone. Always takes a bus to school.
Bahrain: Rich and short kid that nobody really talks to him. He is insecure about his height.
Iraq: The rich kid who got bullied and beaten up by the police because they thought he was hanging out with a violent street gang.
Iran: The middle-class kid who is supposed to be in a different school. He doesn't get along with anyone and doesn't speak the school's language.
Israel: He was the most hated kid in the school. Now, he is slowly being accepted by other kids.
Palestine: The kid who was in the school last semester, but his seat was given to the Israeli kid. And the school really didn't do much about it.
Iraq: the rich kids all go have with.

Dubai or United Arab Emirates (UAE)?

@TorbenRudgaard i f your going to a country respect thier beliefs and culture , holding hands and kissing in public is a disrespect and unacceptable for our culture and religion, If your a foreign and atheist that doesn't make you end up in a "prison"
also, Oman is one of the safest countries in the Middle East for men and women , it has a low crime rate and low rape rate , stop spreading false information and lies
@Torben Rudgaard okay this is going to be fun. First off, us omanis have standards for how a person should act outside his home, unlike in the United States we don't allow you to be in your underwear at a public area, now second of all, I guess you clearly didn't read about the fact that if you are kissing or holding hands in public applys to every single gender, sex and every sexuality. You'd pass out if you knew, EVEN CANADA HAS MORE RAPE CASES THEN THE MIDDLE EAST
so mow that you know this information what are you gonna do? Become a better person, or are you gonna keep making assumptions?
