I think MK11's story was okay, I enjoyed it but wasn't great. I certainly don't hate it. Aftermath, on the other hand, I think that was spectacular. Cary Tagawa absolutely made that, and Max and them talk about the humor in MK1, he brought that to Aftermath. Like when they're trying to convince Sheeva to help them, Shang Tsung's dialogue with Nightwolf about replacing Kitana with an evil clone. Also his masterful gaslighting of Sheeva. And all the way through the ending any time he was on camera he stole the scene. MK1 is overall better than the entire MK11 package though. Honestly, my only complaint with MK1's storyline is Shang Tsung's VA sounds like they bought Cary Tagawa at the dollar store, I think he would have been better off doing his own thing for Shang Tsung like the MKvDC and MK9 VAs.

Kitana killing the Kombat Kids is much more funnier if you pick Johnny or Kenshi as your final warrior because they just don’t care at all that their kid died.
I love how much fun these guys had with the mashup characters. I felt the same way when I played through. I was laughing and was like, "Geras and Reptile - WTF?" I know there are those out there that have complained about the end of the game and that the last quarter or so was a bit sloppy, but I don't care. It was a great story and a fun ride. I can't wait to see where they go with this. Who knows - maybe we will have create-a-characters for the next one and this was just the test to see how it works and how well it was recieved.....
Here's a thought: instead of just DC vs MK, we specifically get Injustice vs MK. (Imagine the plot twist that MK11's Joker is actually the Titan of Time for the Injusticeverse)
I honestly believe that all the mix-matched characters may possibly elude to the fact that we just might get a Kreate-A-Fighter feature added to MK1 in the near future, and that the empty roster space at the bottom right-hand corner of the fighter select screen will be designated for our personalized KAF character…🤔
Max should do a "Rate The" on all the random characters you encounter in the Armageddon chapter. Max and Steve have the worst timing! 😆 Technically, Midway made MK vs DC. NRS did MK 9, but Wool makes a good point. Now I gotta see if Matt McMuscles has a MK 1 story video up on RUclips. 😄
Looks like they randomize the character combos you face in this final chapter. When I played this section I went against a Baraka wearing a suit and sunglasses named Johnny Savage, it was fuckin great.
The fighters you go up against are randomized because during my playthrough I had a completely different set of people I fought with Kenshi. The highlight was when I fought a Liu Kang + Kano and Liu Kang called me a Drogo in a forced australian accent.
33:23 i dont think the pyramid stage for this fight was in titan shangs timeline cuz if it really was imploding because of defeating shang tsung, why was it just fine in the credits when lord havik showed up? I think we may have been fighting in Lord Haviks timeline.
As much as i dont like the third of the game, Liu Kang and the bois chilling at the tea shop with a relatively happy ending is nice. Especially that smile he gives after Johnny thanks him. He worked so hard to make a peaceful universe for them and it worked.
MKX wasn't really a retelling of MK4 in the new MK9 timeline. Johnny Cage's intro chapter is basically retelling the very end of MK4. And the flashback sections of Sonya's chapter are retelling the end of Deadly Alliance(in this timeline where Shang Tsung was already dead). But the vast majority of MKX's story takes place WELL past the point where Armageddon would have taken place in the timeline. It's essentially a completely new story other than those two chapters. MKX also doesn't make for a very good retelling of MK4 because it doesn't bring back all of MK4's characters, the way MK9 brought back all of 1, 2 and 3's characters.
Anyone catch that the music when you first encounter Shang Tsung and Quan-Chi at the top of the pyramid (12:23) kinda sounds like the music at the end of the OG MK movie when Liu Kang is talking with Shang Tsung appearing as Chan? Neat little touch!

7:47 " SPEAR! OH WHAT A SPEAR! AS GOD AS MY WITNESS SHE IS BROKEN IN HALF!"
Kitana killing the Kombat Kids is much more funnier if you pick Johnny or Kenshi as your final warrior because they just don’t care at all that their kid died.
They don’t know remember that’s the old ones
In the playthrough I watched on Twitch, they chose Geras as the final fighter, so seeing Liu Kang's side is SO interesting!
I love this Mugen-ass final chapter so much. I hope we see more of these alternate characters in another mode.
I've been patiently waiting to see the reaction to this finale, they went crazy with this 🤣 I love that this game was a crazy alternate 3D era
The alternate universe where Shao is a really great stepdad and second husband.
Lord Havik is actually The Cleric of Chaos from Og timeline, not the Dairou-Havik in MK1.
When the choose your fighter shows I went ballistic it was that awesome. This was such a fun story mode at the end of the day.
I had so much fun seeing how much fun you guys were having! I knew this part would be wild, haha!
The Quan Chi and Liu Kang fusion should have been called Quan Kang
I find it hilarious that the character you choose is silent the whole time and that Lui Kang is like buzz off this is my job to finish
Liu Killsteal
Here's a thought: instead of just DC vs MK, we specifically get Injustice vs MK.
(Imagine the plot twist that MK11's Joker is actually the Titan of Time for the Injusticeverse)
I honestly believe that all the mix-matched characters may possibly elude to the fact that we just might get a Kreate-A-Fighter feature added to MK1 in the near future, and that the empty roster space at the bottom right-hand corner of the fighter select screen will be designated for our personalized KAF character…🤔
I’m so happy Havik getting the recognition since the MKX comics. One of my fav character.
Aw I REALLY wanted them to get John Kahner
He was the first one I fought and all I could think about was "Man I hope the doods fight him too"
Is it just me or liu kang complimenting himself remind like Obama meme of gifting medal himself 😂
Mortal Kombat vs. Injustice could actually be crazy if you add absolutely every single character from both series.
All that was missing was Brainiacs ship appearing in the sky above them
If the DLC characters are usable in this chapter its gonna be really weird seeing Liu Kang thank Homelander or Peacemaker for saving the universe.
"You don't understand earthrealm isn't yours to conquer"
@@NeocrimsonX"Whatever Jackie Chan, just make sure everyone knows it's Homelander they can thank for their worthless lives."
@@CGB_Crash lame lets be real heal a titen wodo smock homeladner wit hout trying
NRS has commitment issues so bad that they can't stay with one universe for a single game anymore.
Max should do a "Rate The" on all the random characters you encounter in the Armageddon chapter.
Max and Steve have the worst timing! 😆
Technically, Midway made MK vs DC. NRS did MK 9, but Wool makes a good point.
Now I gotta see if Matt McMuscles has a MK 1 story video up on RUclips. 😄
I have always been of the opinion that MK is at it's best when it goes full crazy and embraces the ludicrous.
Easily the best MK story to date and best versions of a lot of classic characters. Game took me by surprise.
Missed opportunity to put in a final Test Your Might by having the ability to break free from Shang Tsung breaking your neck as Fire God Liu Kang
Liu Kang was a freaking monster in this game
I think we may have been fighting in Lord Haviks timeline.
it is has timeline shang said it was
"And they called me the Chosen One" is extra funny when it's just another freaking Liu Kang he's complimenting.
It’ll be amazing to see how NRS tops this ending.
I hope this is a hint that they might bring kreate a Fighter back from Armageddon with all these combined and fusion versions of the characters.
This is pure batshit fan service insanity and my god I couldn’t love it more. ❤
I'm sad they didn't get to face John Khanner, the amalgamation of Shao Khan and Johnny Cage. I feel like Max would've had a good laugh at that.
Cages to Goro: “THAT WAS FOR THE $500 SUNGLASSES!!!”
Max's theory makes sense. The way to explain MK VS DC is alternate universes.
As much as i dont like the third of the game, Liu Kang and the bois chilling at the tea shop with a relatively happy ending is nice.
Especially that smile he gives after Johnny thanks him. He worked so hard to make a peaceful universe for them and it worked.
What an insane ending. I loved that, I can't believe I saw people saying the ending was bad. It was goofy in the best way.
The end was hype AF and fun AF and I’m super excited for a story expansion
now that you've seen the ending, can we get a "lui kang congratulates random characters" rate the meme?
Anyone catch that the music when you first encounter Shang Tsung and Quan-Chi at the top of the pyramid (12:23) kinda sounds like the music at the end of the OG MK movie when Liu Kang is talking with Shang Tsung appearing as Chan? Neat little touch!
