Cyberpsychosis has actually been explained by Mike Pondsmith, the creator of the Cyberpunk pen and paper RPG. He compares it to steroid abuse. It's not so much excessive cyberware that causes it, so much as a person's susceptibility to going psycho in the first place. In the RPG, this is tied to the Humanity stat, which is a combination of the character's personality, mental stability, and empathy. David was highly resistant to cyberpsychosis at the start of the series because he had a good support system, went to a good school, had good future prospects, etc. When his mother died, he found a new family, a mentor, a girlfriend, meaning he still had a very high humanity score. When his mentor died, his friends started dying, and his girlfriend started pulling away to try and handle things on her own rather than really being there for him, his humanity score dropped drastically. This coupled with his increasing amount of cyberware resulted in him losing touch with his humanity, he stopped feeling empathy, and his mind went. Cyberpsychosis isn't really it's own condition....it's mostly a lack of an ability to handle stress, extreme negative situations, and underlying mental conditions resulting in a psychotic break. The only reason it's called "Cyber"psychosis is because the individuals are chromed out which leads to a more destructive rampage and flashier headlines to drive ratings for the media.
It's a balancing mechanic that has caused so much headache because they had to try and explain it lol. Shadowrun did it much better with essence, as that is literally your souls connection to your body. (Tho both systems have the hopefully unintended side effect of portraying people who use prosthetics, or undergo full gender transition to be less sane, or more dead inside.)
@@bakomusha They actually fixed that in RED. Medical grade prosthetics and gender affirmation surgery all explicitly have a Humamity loss of zero now.

I would say that I put Dancing in the Minefield as an A rank, if only because it’s heavily implied that the Gelena Gecko V can own is the same one from the gig, since the interior of the generic (non clan-ified) nomad vehicle still has the typical Wraith iconography in its interior. Plus I’ve never gotten Dakota to offer the Gecko until after the gif has been completed.
And now with 2.0 we can see this isn't true, since you can buy it online before having even entered the badlands at all. Hell nomads start the game in a less modified version of this. It is just an *extremely* common base car modified by nomads from all over. Cheap, and easy to get parts for. Having those two properties makes it a dream for people who want to modify a vehicle, even today.
Flying Drugs has an interesting extra way of completing it. If you can get line of sight on a security camera you can hack in with a cyber deck. There is a security camera that has is right beside the antenna, and if you have it enough RAM you can overload it and complete the gig without ever setting foot in the station and needing to sneak or fight. Dakota will complement you for completing the job without needing to exert yourself.
The easiest way to do this is to get to the side closest to the tunnel that's Nash's hideout and the Calibur are in. Then just look at the tower, scan for the camera, hack in and you can overload the objective.

Love tuning in to all these little tid'bits about NC life. Great vid as always mate. I'm looking forward to a Cyberpsycho's ranked or info vid at some point. I'm just assuming you have those planned somewhere :P
Flying Drugs is a fun one for sure...I use stealth until things go sideways, then GUNS BLAZING! I find it very disappointing that I can't seem to snipe the antenna from the ground...that would be a very cool move. The biggest challenge is figuring out how best to capitalize on the resources available in the area, I find. Dancing On A Minefield is fun too...the best time to approach the area is at dusk when there's enough light to see, but dark enough to easily spot the mines. Militech doesn't always chase you through the area...not sure why...maybe if you don't deactivate the mines they stay away? The Iris Tanner gig is okay...I've stealthed and quickhacked my way through the whole thing without much difficulty, although watch out for those turrets. I find it _very_ disappointing that her 'thank-you gift' is a weak-ass Achilles rifle...too bad the game doesn't level up such rewards. Why not an Epic or even a Legendary? I wonder if there was ever any thought given to Iris being a love interest for Male V. She's pretty attractive despite being annoying...nothing like a little romantic drama, but I guess you get enough of that with Panam. Trevor Brass is pretty standard...there are a couple of ways to sneak into that camp, just watch out for mines. I've never sniped the Wraiths from the roadway...maybe worth a try. Plenty of good loot here. Big Pete is indeed a bad actor, but given he's the brother of Tiny Mike, who I like for V's new best friend in the upcoming expansion, leaving Pete alive might be a good move. I thought it was very silly that you can't use that tunnel from the outside into Pete's lair. Also he has a high-level headband, which is also silly. The Sparring Partner gig is a bit of dumb game mechanics...the workers never appear except when the gig is active and it takes nothing to set them into combat against you. Taking a loss by paying for the robot is also dumb, but that's on V [you]. You really have to be motivated to dig to get all those obscure details in MIA...I'm afraid I just don't have the patience. I find it peculiar that Aldecaldo members sometimes turn up as enemies in the game...there's a whole band of them in Pacifica you can have quite a battle with. Interesting catch finding Ben in the main camp in the Nomad ending...I've only done that one a couple of times and never looked around that much during it. That connection with Dakota and the hit-job inside the city rather lowered my estimation of her...she seemed pretty stand-up, protecting her Nomad tribe, but getting involved in political assassination inside Night City with no real explanation or excuse seems sketchy to me. Radar Love is quite challenging...you really have to stretch out all your skills to negotiate it efficiently ie. without dying a lot or getting into tedious running and gunning . I never noticed that shard talking about Night City corpo employers...will have to look for it next time. Lots of good loot here. I find Goodbye Night City to be _extremely_ frustrating because despite my best efforts, I am _always_ scolded by Dakota for killing one or some of the Militech troops. Nearly as I can figure, blowing up a drone counts as a 'kill'...which is exceptionally dumb. Maybe I'm missing something...it took me a while to realize that binning a downed [but live] enemy also counts as a kill. Clearing out the big Wraith camp after rescuing Saul via stealth alone seems like it ought to be a gig...too bad Dakota doesn't assign it. Tons of great loot there too. The thing about Badlands adventures I like the best is the sound of a vehicle driving down a gravel road. It takes me back to my teenage days 50 years ago when my Dad would hire me out to one of our innumerable farmer relatives and friends to help with haying and other chores every summer.
That was a new one on me as well. But then my default strategy for drones is hitting them with short circuit. Apparently Militech can't be bothered to respond if you fry a robot or drone.
The first time I did the Badlands gigs, my gonk brain thought that Iris telling us that a bonus was waiting at the Sunset motel meant that SHE herself was the bonus waiting ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Bram: “Remember, no witnesses.” Me who forgot to uninstall my LTL mods after doing a few cyber-psycho gigs uptown before hitting the Badlands: “Yeah…a-about that…”
simplest way to do "flying drugs", hack control of a camera, switch to the one on the roof, hack the transformer box so it explodes, log out of camera, job done. Whole thing can be done from the roadside and you get a better message from Dakota. Still works as of 2.02.
There's a bug in the mission where if you place a body in a container or locker it counts as being killed. Just don't put anyone in a box and it'll work.
You can finish Flying Drugs quest without even stepping in to the facility. You can hack any camera from outside and find one watching the antenna, than hack it remotely and drive off before goons understand what went on. Dakota will be impressed and compliment your way of workings smart, instead of hard.
that ripperdoc doing things with the scavs u can get the discount, buy what you want then pass the basement door where u can get ur gun up, aim at him and then...
Flying Drugs: Creep towards the compound nice and slow. On the upper floors, you can Remote Control a camera. Shift thru the different cameras until you find the one at the very top. Scan the power source, and Initiate Overload. Boom. Gig complete, and no one even knew you were there.
Pretty sure you can also snipe something (possibly the same camera) to do it qithout a cyberdeck. If not you can possibly shoot the panel on the antenna. It was a while ago, but I basically completed it my mistake by shooting it from right next to it which made V look stupid because she took damage and fell down. I decided to reload and see if you could do it from the ground and it worked.
Totally understand why Radar Love and Goodbye Night City are B rank from a lore/story perspective, but I'd probably put them in A- simply because they were enjoyable from a gameplay perspective.
If I remember the boxing robot quest correctly, the boxer who wants the software is a slightly past his prime professional. He likely has other sparring bots, but the software is supposed to be some kind of advanced prototype.
I know the majority of the side job names are actually song titles or based on song titles. Fun way to run through all the side jobs is to listen to their song as you do them.
2:03 I saw someone complete this gig by hacking into the camera on the roof n then hacking the satellite through the camera and overloading it, blowing it up, without ever stepping foot on to the property .. thought that was genius
The last mission I did was the border patrol site one. Had to infiltrate the site and exfil a buddy of a Militech dude. Can’t kill anyone and obviously stealth is the only way to finish it. Lots of crouch moving and memory wiping etc. finale saw me hack the gate controls and drive their truck out with dude in tow.
I iust completed that job on 2.1 and it's still as it was in the video. You can enter Dakota's office at any time except immediately after the gig where she calls you from the next room. I'm pretty sure they didn't animate the conversation and so they lock the door so that you can't see that. I like to pretend that it's pants off Friday so she's doing all her work on the phone for the day.
Interesting thing here is that if your v is a nomad it's stated that your character was part of nomads clans that decided to turned to life of crime leading to creation of the wraith gangs so nomad v decided to join a different nomad clans after finding out his former nomad clans decided to become a criminal gangs known as the wraith so wraith was nomad v former nomad clans before deciding to become a criminal gangs which caused nomad v to go look for a new nomad clans to join which to me seem to suggest that in 2077 many nomads clans are essentially dying out and deciding to join the system instead or becoming a criminal organization like a streetkid which mean that people desires to rebel against the corporate elite is most likely dying out and instead becoming interested in other things.
What do you mean by spare a thought for poor nomad guy? I can get Charles discount and gain some extra eddies for rescueing guys like him and sandra dorsett. Win-win in my books
Not about the gigs but still Badlands related, plenty of the NCPD hustles in the Badlands involve Militech doing scummy things in the desert. After systematically doing all of them, soon, a couple of Militech humvees carrying two Skull level Militech goons each pull up near V and try to kill him. But since this is a buggy game, the two vehicles spawned upside down and therefore helpless when my V started headshotting them through the windows!
the 2nd gigs of the video with the mine field is easy with a specific eyes cyberware and each desarm mine give a lot of engeneer xp. make 15 lvl of engeneer xp there.
I remember the first time I did No FIxers and the game wouldn't acknowledge that I'd brought her van with me and I got told off for not bringing it so I blew it up.
Goodbye Night City is still bugged, you can get a bollocking from Dakota for killing, even if you only knocked people out and managed to get by the drones without doing anything to them. I have done the gig without a problem, so it's a bit of a coin toss.
I wonder what the plan for JUNK VENDORS were before CDPR ran out of time. Nice of the junk means anything , music is all on radio stations, and you can't just watch BDs outside of missions and that one you get in Phantom Liberty
That's not programming language in any way shape or form (Developer is my job). If I had to take a guess? It's encrypted, you would need the decrypted to actually see what it is saying, probably a little too complicated for just a key and manually moving things around. It's not a byte encryption for sure, so probably an encryption made up by the person, which can be some of the hardest to crack.
I have finished Night City and Phantom Liberty, but I won't go to tue endings with my latest character. I don't want the game to end! I've gone through several endings---with Judy at the moment---and they're very pleasant. Is there an expansion coming?
It was my go to build for all these vids because I found completing the gigs with stealth often meant overhearing additional dialogue. Nowadays you can get the same effect with Pride, Her Majesty, or maybe just a Tamayura but it isn't quite as effective. (Well, Pride is if used right but it's locked behind an ending)
@@SamBram same Pride became my go to stealth end game pistol after the rogue ending and for early games I would use Jackie's pistol but before the 2.0 update I would just speedrun River's questline just to get his revolver also love your vids
It would have been great if they had gang mechanics where by me smashing every goddamn wraith I see makes others muscle in on there turf. Although I've got to be honest the mox would have the whole of night city by now because I only neck the out everyone else is dead on sight.
In theory maybe, but those kind of mechanics detract from the story and rpg elements in a lot of games that try them. I don't know how they'd implement something like this without turning the game into a far cry 3 clone where you have to capture the flag over and over to regain territory and there's no point in ever olaying in regions you've conquered. It would have to be implemented in a way where no matter what you do, the gangs would always control particular areas so that they're there for the story when needed. A cool idea for sure, but I'm glad they focused on story instead. Novel gameplay is only novel for a short while, but a well told story can be timeless.
@@SineN0mine3that's one way of looking at it, another is it adds layers of replayability and is a very simple to give aesthetic feedback to the player, making it feel like you've had an actual impact on the game world.

I love these gig videos. Thanks for the upload!
I got lucky in the Flying Drugs gig and found a legendary assault rifle muzzle brake in the tower.
I've been watching for a while and in all and only the best ways possible, you're in a way the MatPat of Cyberpunk 2077
I love how much Cyberpunk reminds me of Jak 3. Loved the Wasteland and love the Badlands.
wait what? ur supposed to get chased in the minefield quest? for me it was a comoletely peaceful mission
Same here. Must have alerted the drones. I have never done that.
@@shayelisa Yeah, they are only show up if the drones spot you.
That was a new one on me as well. But then my default strategy for drones is hitting them with short circuit. Apparently Militech can't be bothered to respond if you fry a robot or drone.
It is amazing how many gigs (like Radar Love) are a *lot* harder after 2.0, where they *can and do* chase after you. Way better I find.
Dancing in a minefield is really good for farming exp, I leveled up 4 levels just approaching a deactivating every single mine.
Which corp is the best to work for sounds like a cool vid to make👍🏽 .
Indeed, it needs to happen! :)
Really interested in that too
Brilliant series, thank you 👍👍👍
Thank you very much John. Glad you're enjoying the series!
The first time I did the Badlands gigs, my gonk brain thought that Iris telling us that a bonus was waiting at the Sunset motel meant that SHE herself was the bonus waiting ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
IT'S NOT THAT KIND OF GAME! Or maybe it is and she's just not that kind of girl. [actually I like this a lot ]
@@r1pbuck just imagine Panam getting jealous because of Iris
@@ZrodyApo The fact that fem V can't romance Panam opens up a lot of possibilities, if CDPR had decided to add them to the game. Iris? Saul? Mitch?
Thanks for the video. The corp comparison sounds interesting.
Bram: “Remember, no witnesses.”
Me who forgot to uninstall my LTL mods after doing a few cyber-psycho gigs uptown before hitting the Badlands: “Yeah…a-about that…”
This hidden secrets videos are great!! Keep it going
simplest way to do "flying drugs", hack control of a camera, switch to the one on the roof, hack the transformer box so it explodes, log out of camera, job done. Whole thing can be done from the roadside and you get a better message from Dakota. Still works as of 2.02.
Flying drones can be done in about 30 seconds from a distance with quickhacks.
Just a heads up if it was by mistake- you forgot to put the Pacifica gig on your rankings list
Thank you 🤦. I will add it in the next episode 😅
Flying Drugs is really easy if you hack the camera on the right of the yard and use 1 to progress to the the top camera, then short the target.
nice video you made it interesting with the naration and research, like obtained
I did the goodbye night city non lethally with choke outs and mostly short circuit didn't kill and
Dakoata still complained about the violence.
In Brightest Day, in Blackest Night - No Scavs nor Wraiths shall escape my sights.
that ripperdoc doing things with the scavs u can get the discount, buy what you want then pass the basement door where u can get ur gun up, aim at him and then...
id love to see you breakdown the best place to work for haha
The "G" in "Saguaro" is silent. Comes off more like an H. Great content! It's nice to review this stuff before the DLC drops.
I got the shock of my life when i found out iris is Dakota's daughter. I wonder why he left that part out
Flying Drugs:
Creep towards the compound nice and slow.
I thought he was an up-n-comin' amateur ?
@@Momofan69 You're probably right and I'm misremembering it and mixing it up with something else.
I like to load up the song Radar Love by Golden Earing while playing the mission Radar Love.
I know the majority of the side job names are actually song titles or based on song titles. Fun way to run through all the side jobs is to listen to their song as you do them.
@@roribeedm Now I get a new playthrough to do to add to my 1300 hours logged already. Thank you. Why I didn't think of this sooner is beyond me.
@@roribeedm yeh they are all named after songs after johnny takes over, so it's probably Johnny's influence, him being a musician
2:03 I saw someone complete this gig by hacking into the camera on the roof n then hacking the satellite through the camera and overloading it, blowing it up, without ever stepping foot on to the property .. thought that was genius
Flying drugs always give me issues for some reason. I always just get slapped out of no where lol
Dancing in a minefield is glitched . Cars already on fire. Silverhand never shows up.
Not sure if Dakota wasn't available to meet as of 1.6 or based on other requirements, but she was there to chat with on turn in.
Wraiths = Badlands Scavs = Death from sudden onset lead poisoning.
I would say for smart, I would say the most "Sci fi" because I feel like a real hackerman using them
Imagine if the Wraiths and the Scavs worked together
..there wouldnt even be a toe to tag.
In the cyberpunk 2077 2.0 no fixer extra reward the weapon scale with you I think. I got a tier 5+ when I got it done.
There’s a hidden militech base that’s closed off unless you go around the nomad camp
Love the little witcher moment
I’ve never had militech show up after getting in the car.
They only show up if you get spotted by the drones.
On my playthrough, the junk vendor wanted 69,000 eddies. Not sure if it was changed because of patches or something I did in game.
4:00 I don't think that was a glitch, that's just what would happen to you if you were resurrected in a burning car
What do you mean by spare a thought for poor nomad guy?
I can get Charles discount and gain some extra eddies for rescueing guys like him and sandra dorsett.
Win-win in my books
looking like an Aug release for Phantom Liberty if the streets are right again.
I have to ask if Sam has ever played a netrunner. He never uses Breach Protocol. It makes me rage each time I see it.
I never use it in these because I'm making sure to loot every enemy for shards as I go. Got a video soon dedicated to netrunning though
Flying Drugs can also be done by a sniper rifle from outside the base if you get the right range. Too far and what you need to hit doesn't exist.
Interesting...I have never been able to get a line on it.
I wish Iris Tanner was romancible.
I remember the first time I did No FIxers and the game wouldn't acknowledge that I'd brought her van with me and I got told off for not bringing it so I blew it up.
The Badlands eh?
Looks like a nice vacation spot. The Wasteland.....ugh, I need a break from it. Eatin' too much Dinky Di.
I actually went through and disarmed each and every individual mine because I do got that ocd lol
Boy, Trevor really had a bad start to the arms dealing business....
Ill see myself out now.
Based Real Steel reference and based love for that movie.
The code in "Flying Drugs" looks similar to Malbolge.
The first gig on the video, i just went, pull out the turret gun and just killed everyone.
Goodbye Night City is still bugged, you can get a bollocking from Dakota for killing, even if you only knocked people out and managed to get by the drones without doing anything to them. I have done the gig without a problem, so it's a bit of a coin toss.
Cyberpunk is big for no reason!
Hoping CDPR adds a whole lot more of quests out in the Badlands. My favorite area (yes this is my biased Nomad main opinion).
*Is laughing at all the guns and stealth used here when I have always played melee builds.
17:51 I saw that. Bonk.
McLean (originally MacLean) is actually pronounced like McClane. The mc from Die Hard just has the Americanized version
could the virus from bad be a kind of vigenere chiper with the name "killer" being the keyword ?
I wonder what the plan for JUNK VENDORS were before CDPR ran out of time. Nice of the junk means anything , music is all on radio stations, and you can't just watch BDs outside of missions and that one you get in Phantom Liberty
god i hated "Goodbye NC" the quest counted drones to the body count at launch, soo i coldn't zap drones to get the nice ending D:
That's not programming language in any way shape or form (Developer is my job). If I had to take a guess? It's encrypted, you would need the decrypted to actually see what it is saying, probably a little too complicated for just a key and manually moving things around. It's not a byte encryption for sure, so probably an encryption made up by the person, which can be some of the hardest to crack.
21:11 I see what you did there ;)
I have finished Night City and Phantom Liberty, but I won't go to tue endings with my latest character. I don't want the game to end! I've gone through several endings---with Judy at the moment---and they're very pleasant. Is there an expansion coming?
What’s up with that tube thing that falls from the sky in the badlands that has a expensive painting in it you can sell but militech are guarding it
God everytime I re-watch your vids and I would see a suppressor and scope on a revolver and miss pre 2.0 cyberpunk.
Nice
Another great video. Thanks for the info. I must ask though, why do you choose the I play as a woman if you’re a dude? Don’t you want to play as somebody that you can relate to? Or… do you relate to women more?
Is there a more precise map location for each mission ?
