I think it's about time Marge's mom gets her own Histories. We've explored Homer's past in depth, but Marge has yet to get the same treatment and it's a shame.
I am once again asking for a Moe Syzslak Simpsons Histories episode. I understand you'll probably want to save him for a special occasion given that his history on the show is so extensive, but I still would love to see it some day.
Gina, the juvenile delinquent from the episode "The Wandering Juvie," reminds me a lot of a young female version of Moe. Both of them are quite harsh and vicious, display antisocial behavior, and have a criminal record. However, they are the way they are because they have no family, and they both definitely have a good side. I have a headcanon that after Gina gets out of juvie, she'll get adopted by Moe and both of their lives will become a lot better.
Üter definitely reminds me of Augustus Gloop. Both are German gluttons. They've done references to Willy Wonka before but just now because of this video I'm surprised we didn't get a Treehouse of Horror segment based on Willy Wonka. Üter as Augustus obviously, Bart as Charlie Bucket, Abe as Grandpa Joe, Sherri or Terri as Veruca Salt, Janey as Violet Beauregarde, Nelson as Mike Teavee (that role is tough to decide on who to give it to) and Mr Burns as Willy Wonka (mainly I gave it to him for being rich and it could be a reference to "Burn's Heir" which is one of my favorite season 5 episodes and top 15 episode for me). It'd be great if done right. As for Üter himself I don't really have a big opinion on him since he's really only prominent in season 6 (literally "Treehouse of Horror V" and "The PTA Disbands" are some of my favorite episodes).
Too bad that Treehouse of Horror shorts aren't even creative anymore ... That is an awesome idea though. Maybe they can include a couple of Willy's Chocolate Experience references to make it even more topical, perhaps have the crazy cat lady as the unknown or something....
Fun fact, the name Uter doesn't exist. And Üter definitely doesn't exist (because you would pronounce it quite differently with the Umlaut). At least I have never heard of anyone having that name, and I'm a native German speaker.
Truly fantastic! Uter is a very delightful character! We all have a little uter in all of us! I will always be a huge fan of Nightmare Cafeteria! Here’s another character who hasn’t been done yet- What about Wille? Grandpa’s friend from the retirement Castle! This could be a really fantastic video! I loved the episode where Apu set him up as Frostilicus!
I think they should all have individual videos, as they each have their own lore. Especially Kearney, who has been hinted to be anywhere from 16 to his early 30s.
So I keep recommending Groundskeeper Willie and Moe, and here's why. It's basically for the same reason but let's start with Moe since it's clearer with him. I want to know if his character was clearly defined and then changed, or if he was always all over the place. There's a period of the show where he has a gruff exterior but is clearly a sweet person inside. Like when he reads Little Women at the hospital. But then there are other episodes where he worships the nightmares your dogs have. Is this one showrunner taking the character in a new direction, or was Moe always just an easy character to use in virtually any scene? Groundskeeper Willie for the same reason. He's been around since season 2 and I love him so much I named my Stardew Valley character after him. He's gruff, no respect for authority, but consistently helpful and a good person at heart. Or is he? In some episodes, he's suggested to be the Aberdeen Strangler. What's up with that? Did he just become so popular, even taking away from characters like Otto as RealJims has said, that he had multiple personalities grafted on, or was he always just a grab bag of adult-in-school personalities?
I like how when the character was introduced, his main joke was "Gee. Foreign candy sure is weird, right?" As someone who loves getting various odd foreign candies as I can find, I love how it's both over the top and oddly accurate. I love those Croatian chocolate covered banana marshmallow bars and Japanese "Puchao" chews.
Üter getting the shit beaten out of him on the field trip is brilliance. The perfect timing on the cutaway going right to the apathetic passengers back on the bus is perfection
Squeaky-Voiced Teen!!! Would be interesting to see where he has worked over the years. Plus he occurs almost every season at least once but you sort of forget about him until he pops up again. Would be cool to see how he was used over time in the show etc. “My God, you’re greasy.” One of my favourite lines and line deliveries too.
Uter is somehow a character I always remember even though I don't remember him being in much. That is just how much he can stand out. I really think his character has so much potential
The part when Homer shouts "Look! That kid's got bosums! C'mere you little butterball!" had me laughing so hard when I first saw the episode on TV years ago then the part with Uter saying "Don't make me run! I'm full of chocolate!" and the snapping of the towel was also hilarious!
I never really thought about it but now that you mention it, Homer and Uter have a lot in common, they could have many adventures together. Think about Homer and Uter going on a quest to find the long forgotten perfect piece of chocolate, created by german scientist Ferdinand Leuthäuser-Schacht in 1977. Or them trying to lower the legal drinking age to 6, and when they succeed, Homer offers Uter a Duff, but Uter just scoffs it off becaus "Life is too short to drink American beer". Or them trying to ban PE in schools. I think there are countless possibilities.
I could see an episode where it starts out like a typical Homer and Bart dynamic but Bart quickly gets sideline with Uter of all people taking up his role while the episode acts like it’s not an unusual occurrence.
This is probably one of my favorite Simpsons histories - he’s such an anomaly of a character on The Simpsons, and his appearances in the 90’s episodes kill me as well. I appreciated your passion for Uter
I think my most memorable and earliest memory of Uter in the show was from The PTA Disbands. He is an interesting character and has funny moments, even if he is nothing but a German Stereotype
@12:41 Speaking as someone not from the States, we kind of have those stereotypes in media. In the worst-case scenario, Europeans tend to portray Americans as a stereotype of being loud, obnoxious, fat tourists who like to gab on about how good their country is while Europe (And by extension the world) are strange (That one gag in In Bruges springs to mind). Then there are others where they sound like Texans, carry a load of guns, and have slightly tanned skin. On a side note, I don't know where you're getting the "chewing gum" stereotype example from, since that's not usually something we associate with yanks.
For that part, I was thinking of the Augustus Gloop stereotype from Willy Wonka, so I decided to juxtapose the American characters (cowboy hat, chewing gum) for imagining an American equivalent. I feel like the cowboy outfit is kind of a folklore'ish cartoony American outfit that isn't realistic/common for modern American wear. And the bubble gum is like the chocolate in the sense of, "well, what country doesn't chew gum?" Was trying to think of something other than the typical modern American stereotype that would be kind of a wacky non sequitur. (As you can see, I went back and forth a lot with writing that comparison in the script, lol)
Whenever someone in my friend group cant finish something, the common go to is to shout out that we can't do whatever because we are "FULL OF SHOCOLATE" uter is the man
Oh I really hope you do a history video on Lindsey Naegle, she's one of those characters that nobody really thinks about, yet most people might remember her name.
Because of Üter, "Mit Iodine Joy Joys" have been in my head for over 30 years. i STILL have no idea what the hell he was eating on the school bus in that episode. 😆
I'm so glad you did a Histories video on Üter! He's one of my favourite recurring characters, I always cheer when this goofy German kid is on screen.. I also quote the line:"Don't make me run, I'm full of chocolate!" really often.. It sucks that he doesn't get much screen ime in these later seasons. I say #JusticeForÜter As for the next Simpsons Histories, I desperately want to see one on Lindsey Naegle!
Maybe the fact that Uter debuted in a Treehouse of Horror episode means that ToH-style continuity always applies to him and he can die and come back to life at will
Fun fact: in the latin american dub of The Simpsons, when Üter's parents are questioning Skinner about Üter's whereabouts, the mother's dialogue was translated as "solo queremos descansar" ("we just want to rest") for some reason, which is kind of nonsense. Boy, i sure hope someone got fired for that blunder
I'm only on season 3 of watching the full show right now so I haven't seen any Uter besides his first appearance from watching a VHS simpsons tape YEARS ago, but this little kid seems literally so hilarious, I can't wait to see all these moments in action! Also i'm gonna jump on the Kearney bandwagon and nominate him next, his timeline and age could be a whole simpsons mysteries by itself.
I don't know but i always make a connection between Uter and childhood. Maybe because he only appeared when i was a kid but i'm finding the idea of you talking with your soothing tone so nostalgic that you could fit this in a pixar review
Was watching classic Simpsons yesterday and heard the classic line "Hey German boy go back to germania". Love your work keep it up man your channel is awesome 👌
I mean we have to get a Sea Captain one eventually? He's one of the more ludicrous recurring background characters but they use him a lot in Seasons 6 and 7 I think, they even choose him for one of the jokes about people having babies born at the same time as Maggie.
I find it odd that they gave the visual reference to barefoot football kickers to Uter of all people. Because if cartoons have taught me anything, it’s that whenever you have characters playing a form of football, you need to have a character get confused and think they’re playing the other type of football. Yet the Simpsons didn’t make that joke despite having a European on the team. Is that actually part of the joke? That the German kid who would realistically be a soccer kid of the Bundesliga is actually big fan of American football and knows enough to be a sweat about it!

Don't worry if we rarely see him! There will always be a little Uter in all of us!
Sir, this is not Mass Effect 3.
I would absolutely love to see The Simpsons Histories on Jasper Beardley, or else, that's a paddlin'.
Simpson's history on paddlin' the school canoe? Oh, you better believe that's a paddlin'.
A Chrono Cross reference was the last thing I expected in a video about a tertiary Simpsons character
omg thank you~! glad some one else noticed
Futurama did it in the "Slurm" episode
Too bad that Treehouse of Horror shorts aren't even creative anymore ... That is an awesome idea though. Maybe they can include a couple of Willy's Chocolate Experience references to make it even more topical, perhaps have the crazy cat lady as the unknown or something....
That's right, Üter was actually shot by Mr. Burns!
wait a minute
Or did Uter SHOOT Mr. Burns?
I’d like to nominate Gil for the next histories episode. After all, you can’t leave out Ol’ Gil
I’m still waiting for that Lenny history video. He is such a funny character that just kind of exists
Yes Lenny, Moe, and Chalmers
They had to abandon Uter to his fate of a Beatdown by Civil War reenactors. The 19th Beard Regiment.
Fun fact, the name Uter doesn't exist. And Üter definitely doesn't exist (because you would pronounce it quite differently with the Umlaut). At least I have never heard of anyone having that name, and I'm a native German speaker.
Of course there are people named Üter. Why, Üter here is one of them.
12:52
I don't know why but the statement that Uter is roaming the simpsons hallways put me on the ground from laughter.
Still nominating Lindsey Naegle for one of these, and I shan't give up!
Obviously this video was also awesome, they always are.
Lindsay Naegle is kinda mysterious, being this strangely omnipresent character whom we still don't know very well.
@@danielshaffer-green5684 Exactly! That's what makes looking into her so interesting!
@@MaxOfFewTrades Like what's her deal?
Excellent, I've asked on every video, maybe we need more people
@@beamerball666 I'll keep trying till it happens!
History of jimbo, dolph and kearney
I think they should all have individual videos, as they each have their own lore. Especially Kearney, who has been hinted to be anywhere from 16 to his early 30s.
@@danielshaffer-green5684 mabey a simpsons mystery for kearney
@@imember7375 But Simpsons histories for Jimbo and Dolph.
Funny trivia fact:
In the German dub they made Uther have an swiss German accent 😂
He may have EATEN a one-trick pony, but he surely deserved more screentime!
Underrated character
I love that image of Skinner looking down at Uter.
He's drawn soo perfectly round and spherical, it's such a hilarious exaggeration.
It’s cute
Sehr gut, WirklichJims
Louder With Üter is a great line holy crap
This is probably one of my favorite Simpsons histories - he’s such an anomaly of a character on The Simpsons, and his appearances in the 90’s episodes kill me as well. I appreciated your passion for Uter
I think my most memorable and earliest memory of Uter in the show was from The PTA Disbands. He is an interesting character and has funny moments, even if he is nothing but a German Stereotype
Indeed he was hilarious, thanks for answering the big questions
RIP Miss Taylor... that one was a pure soul.
Whenever someone in my friend group cant finish something, the common go to is to shout out that we can't do whatever because we are "FULL OF SHOCOLATE"
uter is the man
Oh I really hope you do a history video on Lindsey Naegle, she's one of those characters that nobody really thinks about, yet most people might remember her name.
Who?
@@TheLakabanzaichrg She's a sexual predator
Excellent, another to the cause
Ok, I keep hearing her name, but I legitimately do not know who she is. When was she introduced?
@@njf11- She just one of those "has a million different jobs" characters
i really think an eddie / lou or eddie and lou history would be so good!
I’m still wanting a Chief Wiggum video, especially cause he’s such a staple on the show
Because of Üter, "Mit Iodine Joy Joys" have been in my head for over 30 years.
i STILL have no idea what the hell he was eating on the school bus in that episode.
I say #JusticeForÜter
As for the next Simpsons Histories, I desperately want to see one on Lindsey Naegle!
I only watch pro-Üter channels.
Maybe the fact that Uter debuted in a Treehouse of Horror episode means that ToH-style continuity always applies to him and he can die and come back to life at will
Uter is the key to both worlds
Always appreciate a nice random Chrono Cross shout out.
This sure is a way to start my day huh
Üter is best boy. Everyone wishes they had an Üter in their life
You're on fire with the witty comments in this one, love the Uter-love.
As a german i can tell you that we love him despite, or perhaps because of, his ridiculous depiction.
Just like the Scottish loving groundskeeper Willie
I heard the German dub has him speak the Bavarian dialect.
@@TheTimoprimo No, he has a Swiss accent.
watching nightmare cafeteria as a child back in the day, understanding the German food joke and Skinner's line had me absolutely petrified lol
According to his Simpsons Wiki, Grey DeLisle has been doing his voice work since Season 31. Love your Simpsons Histories Videos.
I am once again nominating Gil, our resident "post-golden era" representative, for the next Simpsons History
I find it hard to digest to this day that Gil wasn't introduced until Season 9. He's become such an iconic character!
I think he's supposed to be like 21.
@@danielshaffer-green5684 No that's martin prince (in the joke episode)
@@Parasolhyena No, Martin’s supposed to be 36.
I don't know but i always make a connection between Uter and childhood. Maybe because he only appeared when i was a kid but i'm finding the idea of you talking with your soothing tone so nostalgic that you could fit this in a pixar review
A chrono cross reference AND shade thrown at Steven Crowder? This episode has everything!
Was watching classic Simpsons yesterday and heard the classic line "Hey German boy go back to germania". Love your work keep it up man your channel is awesome 👌
I think Martin replaced him. Lots of those Üter moments would now be Martin.
But Martin was always more prominent than Uter.
You may say Üter was the best, but in Nightmare Cafeteria, he was the wurst.
Well, he was being a bit of a braut
I'm German and your "Danke für's Zuschauen" caught me off guard lol
Uter is the kid version of Moleman.
Whenever üter is not on screen, all the other characters should be asking "WHERE'S ÜTER?!
He's like the kid version of Hans Moleman, no matter what happens, he always comes back.
