The name of the rhythm is samba-reggae, there are many rhythm from black culture in Salvador, like afoxé, samba-reggae, ijexá, samba de roda, samba duro, but the people who not know call all of them Axé. But Axé is only a greeting in Yoruba language. You can watch the documentary Axé - Canto do Povo de Um Lugar on Netflix.
