I got my first two wheat pennies today!! 🤩. Best part of being a cashier!!! There was a lady who’s change was $14.02 and of course one of the pennies was a wheat penny!!! She was rather rude and of course had to keep it 😂

Loved this video... thanks for all you do for collecting! About a month or so ago. I found what I believe to be a 1920 d struck on a Columbia 2Centavos planchet. It has a huge PMD scratch across one side of obverse. Many participants of coin discussions sites advise NOT to get authenticated and slabbed indicating lost its value due to the scratch. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Found a 1920 wheatie in the penny cup beside the register at a mini mart a couple months ago. Blew my mind cuz its litt over a hundred years old. Its kinda wore thin but still awsome to find in the need a penny cup... Could only imagine the history on that coin moving around. Been nicer if it had some detail left to it but you can still read the date. Been collecting wheaties for a bout a decade now, I found a nice 1945 S with a clear nail strike on the back going under the left side wreath, definatly a cool find. Can see the nail head and half the body of a small nail with sort of a rifling twist of lines going down it. Beautiful coin and a San Fransisco mint to boot.

@@JR-zm2yu It was minted with the nail in the die, the wreath of theis full formed across the inside of the half pipe section of the nail. Def coolest wheatie error I have. Jus wonderin what that type error sales for..? Been tempted to list it, but then I wonder if I should spend the grading fee to have it listed on a slab to realy juice it. Only seen a few nail strike errors on coppers but they've all been on internet posting, not even a sale at that. Just found a 1932 wheatie with planchet error, it had a line going vertically up from right shoulder of Lincoln to behind his head an it looks like the line is pushing away from the coin with open split in middle of it. Forget what they call that error..

Found 2 high Ms 1959d penny's I'm def gonna get graded. One looks to be d/d, can't believe what ya can still find in rolls in 2020's... Keep wondering if these come from old bags from one the mint vaults or if some ones dumb kid took a bunch of old rolls they parents saved forever to go buy cigarettes 🚬... Had a minute market guy tell me some guy payed for his stuff in mercury dime rolls over a year ago... I asked the teller why he didn't swap out $ for those dimes, an this dude had grey hair so he's been round awhile, he had no idea what spot price meant much less significance of the pre 64' dimes etc... People, if u don't even have a base knowledge of money, it's safe to say your gonna have a hard time makin it. If u pay attention to anythn in school, make sure its MATH, and HISTORY people... needless to say, he had an idea of it after he met me. Trust me, pass some schooling on to som1, an it'll come back to you. I promise ya that*. An also, don't hate on some1 else if they come up on somethn nice, be happy you seen it happen cuz you now know it can happen 4you at least. Stop the hate child..

@@richardw6592 ps The other penny w/the planchet error sounds like a good bet on grading too - wouldn't it be nice to have a successful coin collecting story & hopefully a small nest egg. Keep me posted on how you do, i have a couple of coins set aside too - saving up to get graded (includes: pennies, a couple of nickels & quarters). Fascinating hobby at the very least - had a coin viewer & book on coins at about age 10 and rare coins passed through my fingers to by my Mother flowers on her bday when my Dad was in the intensive care from a heart attack - i was 14 & the only money i had. It was about $12.00 face value at the time, but consisted of buffalo nickels & coins from 1800s to early 1900s. I asked the lady at the gift shop if she would hold them for me til the next day and was denied🙄 Oh well, i'd have done it all over again given the fact it cheered my Mother up a bit - they were Mums😊. By the way, i find it intriguing that newer pennies of the last century and this are more valuable than older ones like an Indian head - i have one that's worth about $50 and a 2013 Lincoln worth about $1,350 i believe🙃

Take photos of your penny's front and back. Go to heritage auctions, sothebey's, and Christies auction house. Locate their online submission forms and fill them out. Wait for their responses via email. In the event that you put your coins up for auction you can turn down all bids in the end without being penalized financially. For Heritage auctions I know that anything they assess to determine it's value for auction has to be worth 5k starting. I am not sure about the other two auction houses.

I enjoy your videos. I have found a 1919 and a 1920 wheat penny in my collection. What do I need to do to find the value and a buyer?

I love listening to your voice explain about the wheat 🌾 pennies. know nothing about collecting coins, and I have, 1917-1919-1920 wheat pennies, and other wheat pennies. I have two other pennies, an 1862-1904 Indian head pennies, who or where can I take some coins to for appraisal? Do I go to like a pawn shop?

I have 300-400 wheat pennies that my mother had and I’ve never really looked at them except for one that has a magnet on it. I always figured since they were circulated coins they weren’t worth much at all. Think the steel wheat penny was due to short supply of copper during WW2 or something like that.

Ps the steel 1 from the war yrs - some are worth a staggering amt regardless of condition.. Again, research.

I have a 1920 that’s got the wood grain look, it a Philly coin and shows a color that’s almost gold in tone. It’s in fairly nice condition for the age just worn down on the high spots. I also found a 29 that’s in exceptional condition for the age it shines to a mirror again with a bright gold color. Very minimal wear. How can I get a couple of these coins looked at by someone such as yourself without sending them to PCGS unless advised to? I started saving any coinage that I find in pocket change that is pre 1970, and have found myself to have quite a tidy little collection in the 10 or so years since I started. Thanks for your great videos, I have been able to learn quite a bit since I started watching them. 🙏😎
