    Awesome gear choices! I have the same hammock, hex tarp, headlamp and backpack. Great minds think alike. Love them and you will be happy. The hammock is really nice. I love mine. I normally lay with my head to the left but had no issues to the right. I have the hex tarp but at 11 foot. I’m thinking I should have gotten the 12 foot since it doesn’t have the doors. I’ll have to measure my quilted hammock they sent me. I thought it was 11 foot. If it’s 10 I was very comfortable and maybe I can start getting shorter hammocks and save weight. Good luck with your ultralight journey. Your body will thank you at the end of a long hiking day. Outstanding video Ron!

      Guess what I did last week..sewed my first hammock. Bought 16 meters of 70D Ripstop Nylon, Amsteel etc. I made a 12' double layer hammock, with an opening to slide in sleeping pads.
      I weigh 100 kg and I wanted a stiffer lay, so two 70D (!) layers without any stretch,. It's great. Feels like laying in one of those hibernation tanks you see in sci-fi movies. Could lay there for years on end. Great for my back. I named it "the Hibernator"

    Thanks for the video. I’m having a hard time deciding between quilted chameleon and superior. I like the looks of the spreader bar bugnet. I’ve never had a hammock with a bugnet, if the superior is not tied out does it hang in your face? It also looks like there could be more insulation around you in the superior (?), which appeals to me. What are your thoughts on choosing between the two? I’m smaller than you, about 5’9. Thanks!

    • @AdventureswiththeMarine
      @AdventureswiththeMarine  20 часов назад

      I am working on a comparison video of both. I will get it up soon. My camera broke and I need to get it fixed. The bug net on the face could be an issue for some. I never had a problem. And you are right about the insulation wrapping around you to keep you warm. I love the spreader bar for the bug net. It really is a great option. The Superior has more options to keep you warm.
      ( Which both that you would have to purchase ) To be muti-functional for different temperatures. Where the Chameleon will have more options for storage. But the Superior has the stuff sack with carabiners to also use as a ridgeline organizer. Which has ample room. If you are using it in colder temperatures. Than I would suggest the Superior hammock. In warmer temperatures. Than the Chameleon. I hopes this helps.
