This was great . Thanks for the advice .. only thing that was missing was turning on MRC in the games settings .. I remember seeing that in another video ... beat saber worked fine by the way so they must have fixed it

So close to nailing this. Right now I need to figure out how to align my camera and game screen. The gameplay on my PC camera display looks big and distorted, but I can finally see myself in the background. I learn something new every time I come here, so if I have to watch this video a dozen more times, I will conquer this hurdle. LOL. Thanks again!
If your real camera and your virtual camera inside the game are not aligned , you need to repeat the calibration until it matches.
Good luck, just be patient and keep trying. You will master this skill at some point!

Thank you Alex for the video. This is the closet I've come to setting this up, but I can't figure out how to change my camera view when recording. In game I hold down the Oculus button while standing in the direction I want to be seen by my camera. For example, using the Space Pirate demo I want to record my back shooting forward. But when I turnaround and hold the Oculus button, it resets my view in game and the recording is showing the parked space ship in the hangar. Any thoughts on what I'm doing wrong?
your are doing it right. Keep reseting your view holding down the Oculus button until you find the angle you are looking for
Great Video fellow VR gamer! Yes the list are short. However there are more games that works that aren’t listed. The ones I tried that are working are. Pro Putt, Synthrider, Drop Dead.

Which OBS version is suggested by Oculus? I don't have option to open Properties on OCULUS MRC
when I posted this video I just downloaded the version mentioned in the official Oculus tutorial. Maybe there have been changes since then

One question , how do I change my view ? I try to change it but it keeps recording my backside when I want a front view when playing beat saber
you need to recenter the front facing position. You can do so by holding the oculus button in your controller and facing the direction you want. Hope it helps!

At about 7:50 when you click on oculus mrc in my getting any options. Just a blank screen saying no properties available. Any ideas what it might be? I don't think I missed any steps.
that might be a problem with your OBS configuration, try uninstalling OBS and reinstalling it and follow the steps again accurately. Hope that helps, Good luck!
Alex, i have an issue with my quest 2 , after import of mrc to obs. i have calibration complete and see my pawn controllers on my chroma key screen. when i close the oculus mrc app, it shuts down the Connected MRC-enabled tab and crashes obs. Do i need to be running a game when i click this tab (connect to mrc-enabled...) instead of the oculus mrc app ? thx
Hi Jacobs, yes this error is very common. Before closing the MRC app on your quest , go to obs and click on disconnect. The open the game you want in your quest, go to obs and connect again.

But any chance do you know how to adjust the FOV, I have made some videos, but the fov is really small in my videos, as an example when I made a video of space pirate, I barely can see the space ships, I tried adjusting the camera from the controller but it doesnt help.... I am using a very similar green screen as yours, and a Logitech 920
You can adjust the FOV slightly when callibrating i think. But if you decrease the FOV too much you will appear tiny in comparison with the environment.
For space pirate trainer I suggest having the camera in a low position looking up.
Do you necessarily need a 5 GHz Wi-Fi router? Because I have spectrum Internet with a Wi-Fi 6 router.
minimum 5 GHz, if you have 6 GHz even better I guess
Hi, I'm so CLOSE. When I get to the step to calibrate my camera, it doesn't show my camera for some reason. Only the yellow controller. Any suggestions?
Hi Dust, if it doesn't show your camera there might be a problem in the step before that.
What camera or capture card do you have?

hi i have issue when i connect my oculus game to obs it always show back of the game it wont change when i press oculus bottom ( im playing beat saber) how can i solve this???
did you go to the Beat Saber Settings and did you activate the MRC option?

I have a questions. Does this need a good network connection, cause when i try mine, the obs and the game is super laggy
yes this need a good network connection 5 ghz preferably, otherwise it lags as you are seeing

You say we can't capture the audio but when I'm on OBS mixer audio, there is "Oculus MRC" and it's the Oculus audio (maybe a new feature?) .
I turn ON this source but the sound is ... Bad ... I put -20DB and it's better but still bad ... I think many configuration are needed ! Maybe put "Stereo" to "Mono" ... don't know :x
Did you try it ? If yes, do you custom this source ? Can you put them ?

I didn't play around with the configuration of audio on OBS.

@@AlexGonzalezVR That's right and it's working when you enable the audio source "Oculus MRC".
My issue was a hardware issue... the audio was on my "loud speakers" and with an USB headset / headphone it's working very well !
(Microphone was disable in all cases but don't know why with the loud speaker ... the quality drop)
But in OBS settings, you need to put in outpout "320" in audio quality to go a decent audio.

Says that GS is no longer a mrc enabled app. I’ve tested with another app so I know its working. Why would they remove that feature?
Usually they don't remove the MRC feature on purpose, the developers of the games do updates and break the MRC integration by accident.
Hey, I'm at the part for the calibration but once my camera is connected and I select the correct webcam, and press calibrate, it just turns to a blank screen after a split second. Is there a way to fix this?
Hi, did you make sure your Quest is ON, connected to the same Wi-Fi as your computer and has the MRC app open?
If yes, I'd recommend restarting windows and doing all the process from the beginning. Hope it helps, let me know

I tried all of the above but it still came with a blank screen. After I connected to the quest with the IP it said Calibration tool Connected on my quest so I figured I should be good. I tried this on an Emulator on the new MacBook so that's probably why it won't won't. Thanks for the help though!
Maybe I'm just burned out on doing these same steps over and over, but seems like I'm getting farther away and experiencing problems I wasn't in the beginning. Also doesn't help that OBS saves everything you did since kindergarten, so it's hard to truly get a fresh start even after you reinstall. Think I'm gonna have to bow out gracefully and hope an easier, more reliable method comes along in the meantime.
Hey Contel, I am sorry you are having trouble with mixed reality. It's definitely not an easy process at the moment.
please help, I get to the last point, but how do I launch the game? if I disconnect from the OBS, close MRC in oculus, launch beat saber and then try to "connect to MRC-enabled game running on Quest" again it shows the same error "connection failed"
ok solved it, turns out in beatsaber settings you have to checkmark beta testing option to record your gameplay in mixed reality

ahhh this is so far the easiest video to follow. But I am stuck since OBS tells me Display capture no Properties available. I was looking forward to trying this out -_-! anyways Thank you so much for these videos! really got me the closest to mixed reality capture. With the liv tutorial the issue is Liv not sending codes to complete account setup so stuck on that aswell. Just sat here wallowing in self pity haha
just be patient and keep trying, try restarting windows and starting the tutorial from the beginning, that works for me many times

I got stuck with the calibration，I followed the camera calibration process then clicked the button save to headset. It just spins and never does anything. I’ve left it running for an hour and came back to it still spinning. Shut down and restarted everything twice and it still does the same thing
when you clicked the button save to headset, are you sure your Quest is ON, connected to the same WI-Fi and with the MRC app open?
I wanna ask you something
1) When I want to open a game on oculus, it say exit the app(MRC) to open the game. So I need to exit the MRC and open the games ? After that I need to Connect again on OBS ?
Before opening a game on the quest, on OBS click disconnect from quest.
Then on quest change the game. Then on OBS click connect again.

i didn't seem to get the oculus MRC under the fore/background, instead, it shows "game capture" what could be the issue?
sorry where does it show "game capture"? at what minute of the tutorial are you?
i had this issue, .. i had to click on Scene collection again and select the QUEST MRC that populated after clicking import. in his video it defaults to the Fore/Back ground tabs because he already had it selected. hope that helps
I have had the same issue, when you are in mrc tool, probably you are selecting quest 2.... select just "quest" and you will have the quest mrc option in obs..... and it doesn't matter the version of obs btw
now json file doesnt work in obs insted of quest mrc is game capture and properties for this thing are worng not tahe same as oculus

I really need a gaming pc. I am just using an iphone with green screen. its ok but the controllers are not placed right in my hands. that is my only issue 😅

@@AlexGonzalezVR I figured it out. I was trying to film a game from the Quest 2 wireless. All I had to do was launch a compatible game and hen sync it like you showed. Awesome video. Thanks again.

@@nightravenz8767 Once OBS IS setup you quit MRC and launch a game that is supported. You don’t need to be tethered. Hope that helps. I have a video on my channel where I am playing Space Pirate Trainer so it def. works.
For me layers don't fit. After I set Camera in Video Capture Device, use Chroma Key and connect to Oculus Game. It all works separetly but don't compose each other so I see small camera view in left upper corner and two separetly views from game - one on the left where are only controllers and one on the right whera are game surroundings and controllers :/ I tried many tutorials but for everyone it seems quite easy but for me it doesn't work.

@@AlexGonzalezVR @Alex Gonzalez VR yes, I did that every time. I have view from game but it doesn't compose with view from camera in obs studio. The view from camera is 1/4 of canva space and the view from beat saber game is more then canvas and split into two view (one with game environment and one where there is only virtual controllers). I don't understand why on all of tutorials after click im connect button (like in on your video at 9:10) every layers (every views) are automatically mix with each other. For me every layer is separated at this very moment.
@@Baloght444 that's super weird, then. I've never seen that before. There is something wrong in your configuration. Are you using the version of OBS that oculus needs?
For some reason, when I try to download mixed reality capture in he oculus store it doesn’t show up!
You can't find it from the headset store. You need to add it to your account from your computer. Please see minute 3:04

How do I send audio via Mixed Reality Capture to OBS?

@@AlexGonzalezVR I don't know it there was an update however you are able to record the sound from quest without post production or mic being connected to your quest. You just need to set right sound outputs in OBS. You need to have the Oculus MRC sound output set to monitor only (in audio mixer you want to have it on max volume) and destop audio to monitor and output. Everything else monitor off Maybe you will need to set sync offset however that is not that big deal. I hope it helped

@@JustDetta No, I honestly just let it sit thinking he was going to get back soon but he hasn’t. I favorited some tutorials on the OBS software so I’m just going to get to know everything and not just this one little part. If I do resolve the issue, I’ll let you know.

There is no MRC option in beat saber. I bought it on the oculus store. I am using oculus 2. Anyone?
your only way out is to rollback the game version back! I was tormented all day yesterday over a way out of this situation, since I also did not have the mrc tab in the game settings. but I use pirate + bmbf. rolled back the version and the tab appeared. apparently the developers of the game for some reason removed this option

Without knowing your situation but my guess would be that you put the gameplay layer above the green screen layer. If this is the case, try switching them
Yes, try what Robin said. If it still doesn't work, restart windows and do the whole process again.

I have a Mac and I had to use bootcamp to install windows (for free) for everything to work. Bootcamp allows you to toggle between Windows and iOS by restarting your computer. Don't worry, all of your files will still be there. I think iOS just isn't compatible. I looked up the tutorial on YT. Hope this helps.

The 5 GHz router you mean? It might work with a 2.4 GHz router too, but the quality won't be the same.
