  • Once components are added to an assembly file, you'll need to add context to the pieces. In this video, learn how to leverage tools from the marking menu to provide instruction. Also, learn about adding non-modeled parts, such as glue or paint, to the bill of materials.

When I do this the other geometry in my assembly goes to wireframe instead of shaded transparent. I would much prefer the shaded transparent like you have. Where can I change this? Visual style only affects the selected part.

This is a great little tutorial for creating new parts in an assembly but is there a way to sketch a line or shape, as a new part, directly onto the assembly. I want the cursor to snap onto the corners, midpoints, quadrants etc of the assembly whilst in the new part mode (when the assembly is greyed out)

Did you ever find the answer to this question?

You can do that by projecting geometries and using constriants in the sketches
