I have a 1984 Sigma Martin and I love it! Sadly I had to get the frets mild due to grooves. Ever since then I've had more problems with buzzing which I'm working with. But otherwise it's always been a great guitar and I love the sound
I am a Martin guy. I'm also a Sigma fan. Their cheapest guitars come set up. They hold tune, the playability superb. They flat out sound better than anything in their prospective price range . Sophisticated open harmonics are not going to be appreciated in a noisy live venue. A high-end guitar could cause feedback, get stolen, or banged up. I'm also a huge fan of the knk mini passive pickup system. A person could buy a Sigma, install the KnK, and have a great playing, gigable rig, for a price that is reachable. My Sigma had real bone, solid top. People should understand that there is a science to getting good balanced sound from laminate back and sides. The material is also tough and stable. The company is called AMI now. If I sold guitars, I'd want to sell those. Ask any Sigma or former Sigma owner what they think of Sigma.
