I think you nailed it with the expectations part. I personally LOVED the film but Gavin and crew tried to market it like it was going to be some huge blockbuster no ones ever seen before. The best part about the movie is easily the score. The score is objectively the best tan film soundtrack ever made and personally 3rd behind spider-man 1 and TASM 1 for me. I also have no idea why they tried to overdo it with the CGI. Him sitting on the top of the bridge could have easily been green screen, car chase opening was sort of unecessary, and to answer your questions about the budget it seems like it mostly went into funding patron bonuses and adding additional scenes than improving the actual base film.
Thank you! And you seem right with the budget thing because they couldve made the actual movie so much more better rather than focusing a lot on the cgi and costume design
I made a smaller cut of the film that’s a little over an hour. This one just didn’t do it and slogged up on. I made some cuts and moved things around to make it feel more of a better film imo
you totally hit the nail on the head about spider-man: lotus and the only positive feedback i can give is mostly the john romita sr inspiration suit and vfx and the shocker scene.
Another thing I wanna add, I feel like people have the wrong idea where they think that if an indie project or a fan film or something has a much lower budget, it will be more entertaining, but that's not the case. I think it's just that the "wrong" people who had that big budget.
Yep. I agree with you. The costume of Spider-Man in Lotus looks neat, but the writing is too misunderstandable...Also the acting of it is...meh, could've been better...😒
When I first watched it, I thought it was "well done". What I mean when I say that is, the storyTELLING was well done, but the plot and structure felt off. The way some scenes were placed was questionable which is why it felt slowly paced and boring (which I agree with). It starts strong, goes slow, lots of talking, then a strong part comes on again making me feel hyped. And then it goes back to slow again which is fine, but when it goes slow, it really does goes slow, and for a while too. I also agree with the fact that they should have spent more time with Gwen. We mostly only got scenes of Peter looking at videos, which was emotional, but I feel like it would have been MORE emotional if we saw more flashbacks with her before that scene, so we would have been more connected with the character (Like TASM1 & 2 as you said). - That stuff aside, my favourite parts were definitely the music score, cinematography, costume design (although I personally wasn't much of a fan of the Green Goblin mask, since you can't see his mouth moving, was kind of weird to me) and the acting by the actors/actresses for Harry and MJ, they stood out the most to me. - Overall, a pretty decent Spider-Man DRAMA film. Probably won't watch again though tbh, I'm more of an action/mystery film guy haha.
Hey!!! Great review!! 👍🏼💯Me personally I liked the film. What I liked: The suit, the vfx, the cinematic shots, the soundtrack, some of the acting. What I didn’t like: Music would be way too loud over the actors voices sometimes, the MJ and flash scene, the constant music montage moments, also some of the other acting, too depressing in some places, and the green goblin suit (shocker was ok) I honesty give it a 6.75 out of 10, it’s not terrible, but it definitely didn’t live up to the hype. (Also u gotta admit, the comic book look for the opening and end credits were bad ass)
As a 3D artist, I wanna say the VFX artists were the only ones that deserve praise, they made MCU-like scenes but yeah it the movie was a hot piece of garbage.
I dont think that’s necessarily a big issue with it. A lot of spidey fan films don’t have much web swinging as its out of their budget. However they did have a bigger budget with this film so more web swining definitely couldve been possible :)
I just feel like this is the best looking suit w we’ll ever get all of toms suits are over designed and shit cgi with him rarely in the suit itself im not counting his suit at the end of the movie that’s probably 2nd after this one
Saw this video on my recommended and decided to check it out. Great video btw you earned a sub
Thank you! I appreciate it😁

only watch the shocker fight scene and called it quits after 💀, the acting is so horrendous
for reallll
I feel like it had a ton of potential but it ended up digging it’s own grave
I 100% agree with you :)
My expectations for this were pretty low as is. And I was STILL dissapointed.... (Great video btw)
Thank you😁

@@Overdrive_Studios I’m looking into doing my perspective on the fan film also while explaining the fan films to have a look at

Facts 💯

You NAILED IT! I completely agree with everything you’ve just said! :))
Couldn’t agree more, everything you said was exactly what I thought of it as well
I’m glad :)

You’ve got some awesome opinions! I agree with you for the most part :))
As a 3D artist, I wanna say the VFX artists were the only ones that deserve praise, they made MCU-like scenes but yeah it the movie was a hot piece of garbage.
The VFX artists and costume designers/makers did amazingly!
The fact that it only has 1 minute and mother fucking 21 seconds of web slinging says a fuck ton about this movie
I dont think that’s necessarily a big issue with it. A lot of spidey fan films don’t have much web swinging as its out of their budget. However they did have a bigger budget with this film so more web swining definitely couldve been possible :)
Lotus was just one Trainwreck after another
❤✍️ nice vid
Thank you! 😁
Is it true that the guy who play Peter Parker in lotus film is r4c1st?
I believe so, so is the director
When I heard about it, I was like "oh my God, why!? why did they make him like that!?" But the suit is awesome by the way
Never seen Spider-Man Lotus but I have seen Batman City of Scars as a kid and I thought that it was amazing.
The film was so boring I didn’t even watch 1 minute of it
LMAO
I just feel like this is the best looking suit w we’ll ever get all of toms suits are over designed and shit cgi with him rarely in the suit itself im not counting his suit at the end of the movie that’s probably 2nd after this one
I think the Lotus suit is amazing but i wouldn’t got so far to say better looking than Tom’s 😅 I respect your opinion though :)
I still think the Spider-Man homecoming looks very good
It’s wild to me that Spider-Man lotus was so bad that it’s possible to summarize how bad it is in 4 minutes but great video by the way
Thank you 😁
No way, Overdrive is that you??
Yuppp that is me
It was painfully slow i had to skim through the movie for the spiderman fights and thats it lol this movie is terrible
I agree ❤️
That’s great, Joanna ❤️
Sean was great in the movie though
its mostly the acting that ruined it for me everything else was decent to mediocre (it also feels like 2017 short film)
I found the acting very unprofessional in some parts so i can see where you are coming from :)
Why everyone hating on it just a fan made movie just wondering what the hate for but Hi
Watch the video to find out!!
This Spider-Man film is no exaggeration the worst movie ever made.
me being the only person who kinda liked it
It wasn't that bad.
I definitely wouldnt say its AWFUL, just not what a lot of people expected :)
