I have to make 50, finally got 18 done, not that fancy, no dados, just plenty of nails and glue, paint the outside with a couple coats of L:OWES mistake paint(any color) and paint the inside with bees wax.
I hear ya @old dave. I need to make at least 50 of everything for next season (except I haven't gotten started yet, so you're a step ahead of me). Love that mistake paint. I'm not always lucky enough to find it, but when I do, I make sure to snag it up. Thanks for watching and commenting. Have a great rest of your weekend!
Hello. No matter how I did it, I would have 2 pieces because a 1x12 is 11.25" wide which isn't wide enough for the bottom. I do glue the two pieces together which actually makes a stronger joint. If you wanted one solid piece, you could use plywood, however I just haven't been pleased with the results of plywood. After a while it always seems to warp and delaminate. I hope this answered your question. Thanks for watching and commenting. Have a great weekeend!
Thanks for the video, love the fact that you muted all of the cutting. Helps when the wife is sleeping, lol.
Thanks Andy. Haha. I hear ya about the sleeping wife. I try to cut out the loud noises when I remember to. Appreciate you stopping by.
I need to get some more bottom board done myself. Good stuff man 👍 thanks
I fell behind this year making equipment, so finally had to catch up.
@@TexasBeekeeper dude I have been behind for years LoL 😆 just keep chipping away at it. You will get there man, 👍
الله يبارك فيك أخي وفي جهودك ونحلك شكراً جزيلاً

Why did you cut the bottom board piece into two pieces, instead of keeping it just one piece. It would compromise it's overall strength?
