I started playing flight of the bumblebass when I was a toddler and I have practiced until my finders bled every day for 18 years. Today I can say that using 100% of my power I was able to play the first 7 notes of seven nation army. I passed out immediately afterwards.
saw him with buckethead at ozzfest. absolutely amazing... and les was dressed like castro, so it was just even more awesome. and i had seats that year, so was actually close enough to watch him, and buckethead. just indescribable. then, saw slipknot... this was like the week before their self titled released, and had never heard of them. and system, soulfly, on and on, needless to say- mind blown to a million pieces that day...
had to stand at the rail to watch dime like the year after or maybe the next when pantera played. another amazing moment watching someone do what they were put on this earth top do. god dime could bend strings like no other.

Tommy The Cat is just perfect. I especially like the solo that he did on TTC on "suck on this". My friend when I was like a sophomore in high school (so 2003, to show my age here). I went over to his house to jam because he played/plays bass and I drums. We took a break, and he played "The Heckler" for me, and I was instantly in love with the SLAP. Was super excited to get a record store day pressing of it, sealed at a local mom and pop for retail price.

Glad to see some Rush in that mix. :) I know it's probably not particularly hard, but one bass part that I always thought was extremely well crafted was Ross Valory's bit from 'Don't Stop Believin'. It's got it's own little melody and likes to poke it's head up now and again and say 'Hi! I'm having some fun down here!'. As for hard, how about Chris Squire in pretty much all of 'Close to the Edge', but especially right near the beginning. That bass line could start a fire underwater at the bottom of the Marianas Trench. During an ice age.

First concert I took my daughter to was Primus. She was blown away by his solos with Bass and Whamola.
