- Beloved actor Robin Williams was found dead on Monday, police reported.
He was 63.
The apparent cause of death was suicide by asphyxiation, authorities said. According to his publicist, Williams had been battling severe depression.
Williams was best known for his starring roles in classic comedies like Mrs. Doubtfire, Good Morning, Vietnam and Jumanji, but also in dramas like Dead Poets Society. He won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of Dr. Sean Maguire in Good Will Hunting. He rose to fame while playing Mork the alien in the TV show Mork & Mindy, a Happy Days spinoff.
Most recently, Williams had starred in the new CBS sitcom 'The Crazy Ones.' It was cancelled after just one season. At his time of death, a sequel to Mrs. Doubtfire was in the works.
Susan Schneider, the actor's wife, released the following statement to the New York Times' Dave Itzkoff:
"This morning, I lost my husband and my best friend, while the world lost one of its most beloved artists and beautiful human beings. I am utterly heartbroken. On behalf of Robin's family, we are asking for privacy during our time of profound grief. As he is remembered, it is our hope that the focus will not be on Robin's death but on the countless moments of joy and laughter he gave to millions."
I saw him in Kuwait and was able to talk to him about a minute. Was the funniest man I ever met and full of energy.

Exactly my thoughts well said, someone just mentioned him in a podcast and I had to watch him on screen again imediately hence I am here, a soul like his is sawly missed in this harsh world we live in now
why are you under every video
It feels like, what, 3 years at most? It's hard to think it's been almost a decade since his passing. It just goes to show how quick life on this beautiful blue and green ball we call home is.
I'm almost 18, seeing people come and go is what made me realize that life is very very short, and I already feel like I have just gone and wasted a lot of it. Though I may I have a good while left, I could be gone tomorrow. So whenever I wake up I plan to make my day mean something. I tell my family and friends I love em, talk to my elderly neighbors, try and pitch in where I can. That is what i feel is my purpose here till I stand before the Lord.
In short, never take you or anyone else's life for granted. For we don't know when the last time we will see someone. Call a family member or friend for me. Itll make you, and them, know you have their side.
God bless, everyone
Just ten years. Practically yesterday.
"If you're that depressed, reach out to someone. And remember, suicide is a permanent solution, to a temporary problem."
- Robin Williams
Not always a temporary problem. It depends on what the problem is. It is not always a personal problem. For example, the suicide rate is very high for people who want to live life free in a communist nation,---so please don't vote for Biden.
A lot of the times it’s not a temporary problem. Most people commit suicide due to mental illness, mental illnesses aren’t temporary even if it gets better that shit stays with you for life.

Some people it's a life long problem. So idk about this temporary stuff.
There’s only a few people in this world that I would go back in time just to give them a hug.
Robin is one of them.
He was diagnosed with dementia. Working with people who have dementia, I can’t blame him for his choice. There’s no cure and sometimes at work it feels like I’m just keeping a body alive. It’s depressing. We need a real cure.
He was diagnosed with Parkinson's.
Piper Mccoy It’s called Lewy Body Dementia. My uncle died from it. Eventually your body forgets how to do things like swallow. Many people with it get pneumonia because swallowing is difficult and liquid end up in the lungs.
Ashwagandha and/or ginseng might help. It depends on the person I suppose.
On autopsy, it was found he had Lewy Body Dementia. I don't blame him for his choice, either.

He committed suicide to escape the near constant emotional and financial abuse he suffered at the hands of his ex wife. She was suing him for everything he had with the full backing of the US court system.

"the clown", is a attention seeking technique that feeds the false ego. From the collective unconsciousness we see that universally clowns are often considered evil, its been said that they have a demon attached to their chakra system. ***** Yes I know all that, it still has nothing to do with my statement, what has your statement got to do with the clown being a attention seeking persona. Carl Jung said that the real self was the source of happiness and fulfillment etc etc etc... The false self is a created self to manipulate the world instead of a real self that just interacts with it, it starts with parents not allowing the child with certain behaviors, the child is a born ego eccentric, so most definitely this is everything about a struggle for ego energy, as the ego does not get energy from source, it needs others to feed, every child is born... bla bla obviously you haven't the faintest idea what I am talking about. When I first learned this, and that it wasn’t related necessarily to his depression, it changed it for me. As someone who suffers from depression, it made a difference for me, knowing the reason wasn’t his depression, which he apparently knew how to handle throughout his life, and which didn’t kill him in the end.
as long as that makes you feel better, it sounds believable. but the fact is, he had more life to live, and loved life, and loved people. his family did not give him the attention he needed, he was in need, and was surrounded by many that leached onto him. a public example, take a look at years of interviews, red carpet events etc, do you see his wife by his side holding his hand? rarely. his wife and his daughter often traveled without him, and let him work and work and work... you may accept suicide your way, Robin Williams died before his time, and is missed by many, he was in need, and deserved more family love than he got.

Hearing about Robin Williams' death was like remembering where I was when 9/11 happened. I was in Vegas on vacation, and it was the most memorable trip of my life. My friends and family all reflected on his life and what he meant for us growing up. He was more than just an actor; he was a icon who made you think about what kind of country we wanted to live in. I still consider his HBO stand-up special from 2002 as one of the funniest pieces of humor I've ever witnessed to this day.
This "9/11" phrase needs to be put to bed. It's tired. A lot of bad and sad things have happened before and since in the whole world, but Americans always find a reason to mention this tragic event. A lot of people don't even remember (or know) what year it was. A lot of people have had to deal with serious mental and / or physical issues in our lives but thankfully there are people (including myself) who don't go on and on about it. It's a part of the past. As it turned out, after the autopsy it was determined he had an incredibly severe case of Lewy Body Dementia. It was so bad that the doctor who performed the autopsy claimed he had never seen a case that bad before, and that it was a miracle in and of itself that Williams had been ambulatory up until his death. It manifested itself as severe depression, but it was really his brain tissue degenerating at a very advanced rate to where by the end of his life he was hallucinating regularly. There is no treatment or cure for the disease, the best case scenario is knowing you have it so you can try and enjoy what little time you have left and make plans for your family after your death.

Look at his eyes. There is so much despair. I dont like this world.
Its in his voice too. Its heart breaking that he was suffering so long. The poor man!
We see what we want to see..Just because he killed himself doesn’t mean he was miserable every waking moment
His despair was because he knew he had an incurable disease that was taking over his mind and his body and he wanted his family to not go through the agony of watching him die not being able to do anything. That's why it's not humane for Euthanasia to be only for animals.

This is looking back, but this unbelievably vibrant man looked and sounded like his life force had left him.
hollywood will RIP it from you
It's because of his rare form of dementia. When you know that you have dementia, there's a psychological component to being diagnosed. It quite literally sucks it out of you, because you know that you will slowly be losing yourself. I've seen it once in my own life, and she acted just like he did.
Lewy Body Dementia is a truly dreadful disease, robbing you of your mind with hallucinations and loss of any sense of connection to reality. Couple that with his Parkinsons and clinical depression and you have a nightmarish cocktail of bad stuff. I don't think most people truly understand the stress and pressure a comedian faces. The burden of "being funny" all the time is not like a switch you turn on and off. He had all that stress, a drinking problem, and then the Parkinsons and LBD. It is all WAY too much for any person to handle. But I do consider him one of the funniest comedians to ever live. He made being funny look so easy. It turns out it wasn't after all.
Christopher Mcclave My husband has LBD, and it’s a sad, scary disease I wouldn’t wish on anyone.
@Angelo Picasso Stupid ass..
Growing up in the 90s this was our guy. We will always miss Robbin Williams
He didn’t seem himself. His eyes didn’t have a sparkle like he always did. He rarely showed sadness. He was a loss to all. He will forever be an icon.
He didn't have depression. What most didn't know was he had Lewy body dementia. He was particularly debilitated by fear, anxiety, delusions, paranoia, and hallucinations. This didn't come out until after his death. They were treating him for Parkinson's which was the wrong diagnosis.

These psychiatrists, and they're "throwing" of mood and mind altering "medications" at people's symptoms, I think is behind a lot of the mood swings that people that have had substance abuse problems experience.
The sadness was just so palpable. On his face. In his voice. The absolute lack of animation. He was already gone. So incredibly painful to watch this. Bless you, Robin! ❤️🌷

It’s because those who have suffered don’t want anyone else to experience the pain they have felt. They want the world to be a better place. I think to have things to make fun of, to understand them deeply, you have to be incredibly introspective and that is common in people with depression

What a beautiful soul.
I was looking at Christopher Reeve’s (Superman 1978) wiki and found this:
Reeve went through inner anguish in the ICU, particularly when he was alone during the night. His approaching operation to reattach his skull to his spine (June 1995) "was frightening to contemplate. ... I already knew that I had only a fifty-fifty chance of surviving the surgery. ... Then, at an especially bleak moment, the door flew open and in hurried a squat fellow with a blue scrub hat and a yellow surgical gown and glasses, speaking in a Russian accent." The man announced that he was a proctologist and was going to perform a rectal exam on Reeve. It was Robin Williams, reprising his character from the film Nine Months. Reeve wrote: "For the first time since the accident, I laughed. My old friend had helped me know that somehow I was going to be okay."
😭😭😭😭❤️
That is awesome..Robin blessed so many souls!
Heartbreaking. The paragraph before that is also poignant:
After considering his situation, believing that not only would he never walk again, but that he might never move a body part again, Reeve considered suicide. He mouthed to Dana, "Maybe we should let me go." She tearfully replied, "I am only going to say this once: I will support whatever you want to do because this is your life, and your decision. But I want you to know that I'll be with you for the long haul, no matter what. You're still you. And I love you." Reeve never considered euthanasia as an option again.[61][62]
How beautiful. Two beautiful souls.
beautiful soul? Robin Williams has been embroiled in a few cheating scandals over the years, starting in 1986, when a cocktail waitress sued him for infecting her with the herpes virus...after he'd been married for 8 years. In 1989, he divorced that wife to marry the already pregnant Marsha Garces, who had been his son's nanny. In 2008, Garces filed for divorce after she discovered he'd been carrying on with a 27-year-old artist named Charlotte Filbert. Third time's the charm?

You can keep breaking it down till you get to the point of a 2 dimensional plane being pushed through a 3 dimensional cube going from one end to the other without ever occupying space. Us as 3 dimensional objects never occupy any component of the 4th dimension (time). So, yes, every thing is a memory as you never occupied a portion of time.

- loss of the paralysis of muscles while in rem sleep which makes them act out their dreams
- dreams are frequently violent and have resulted in injuries both to the dreamer and their bed partner
- Parkinsonism, which is an aspect of parkinsons, and has similar (tho usually less severe) symptoms
- Visual hallucinations

I have no doubt at all that he left with dignity and awareness. He saw the road ahead due to his health decline and chose to spare his family the agony of a long battle. it was a selfish decision, but also a selfless one.
