Yup. I’ll never forget that other one when they go into the big Phil ‘bang.’ I was busy changing my daughter’s diaper. How can one forget that? I certainly haven’t. Anyway, aside from it being a little chilly outside, it was a great show. Cal Expo a few weeks before that were cookers. HOT OUT! thank god for the cool showers.
My daughter’s first show. She wasn’t even 1. 9 years earlier to the date of this show was my first. I always love that stat. Chicago Uptown Theater 8/19/80.

@@staggerlee4979 I’m just happy to see him wearing long pants instead of shorts. The shorts with the pink guitar were always a bit much for me and always left me wondering…. San Francisco, pink guitar, short shorts…. OMG. Did you see the interview with him reminiscing about the fond memories of hanging out at Bohemian Grove with high level intelligence agents?? Oh man, was that a kick in the teeth.
@@4Naturalgreen At that point in time in my mind there was no reason to wonder. Those shorts, pink guitars, shirts and....well I was there for the music not what Weir or the rest of the band did off stage in their personal lives.

1989 is historically the Dead's best year. I got started in with them just a year before but naturally did not know what I was truly witnessing. I always felt the band got better as they aged, culminating in 1995. The band was splendid up to the very end. The whole thing just got way out of hand. Looking back the band has been the best thing in my life.
@@briansolomon983 Hotter than a Florida summer but incredible shows. First set 5/5 is one of my favorite opening sets That Help-Slip-Franklins after a rusty Race Is On is pure rocket fuel!

I was used to smoking pot but me + my niece was on the stage to b closer to our men but someone passed us a joint + we got to stoned on it so tried to get off the stage so we hung onto eachother to control our steps to get down ! Wow is all I can say because the only pot I ever smoked that was that good was cut with opium or something else but we never found out ! It happened again at Bobby + the Midnights show too + we were dancing on the side of where our seats were so this guy came over to give us a toke + that was it for us , we had to sit down ! So much fun I had with all of the boys in the Gratefuldead that I miss so much !

This song by Brent is so true that it brings tears to my eyes because it’s so true ! We have ruined the world ! All of us that r still alive plus us hippies were the 1 st ones who saw the hole in the sky in the early 60 s + Bush wanted all of us peace loving folk to b killed ! We knew to much ,we were not stupid at all ! The Gratefuldead knew exactly what they were singing !
I didn’t like big Steve because of what he did to me ! He told me to leave Jerry alone or he wouldn’t let me in if he saw me at the backstage area ! I didn’t go back because I loved Jerry to much but he loved his H more then anything but music ! But he did tell me he was missing me + he came looking for me but went to the wrong island ! How disappointed I was because things mite of been different then ! Well as the song goes it’s all over now !
Phil was my best friend because I never used others names that I could have but didn’t so that gained great respect for me plus he remembered the time he met me in Springfield Mass. in 1978 + after he had his way with a friend I was with we went up to his + Bobbys room to listen to an interview by The Rolling Stones magazine + Bobby asked me how I liked it so I told him there was nothing in that would b interesting to any Deadhead ! They both liked my honesty ! Then 2 years later me+ my niece went to the backstage area to c what was going on so we hung out with the bus driver but then Phil came out , told us to get into the bus , he wanted to get to know us but then he looked at me + said we met before in Springfield ! I was so impressed by his memory that it blew my mind but we all went back + all the boys were their except the drummers + my niece + Bobby fell into each others arms like they were made for eachother but me + Jerry couldn’t even hug because the energy between us was so strong that we just couldn’t get close but after the concert he came to my room then we fell inlove ! I’m still inlove with him even in death !
You know it's on when Jerry pushes up his glasses. ❤️

My grandfather once told me “Never trust a man who plays a pink guitar”.
Pinky as we called it. Bob switched to his new black Modulus mid set.
