Nice video mate! I considered this flight (there's often good prices because it's a quiet route) recently but the departure time from AKL is terribly early. I'm flying from AKL to SYD next month with Qantas so I'll be keen to check out the lounge (I've tried the QF First lounge, but no the business class one).
I love the A340s too. Sadly I don't think we see any in Australia now and they're all getting quite dated. Fortunately, as I suspect they won't be in the air for much longer, I was able to experience one twice in Dec last year with CX between Japan, Taiwan and S.Korea.

S787iFly I didn't know LAN was going to fly the 787 to Sydney! I flew the 787 on the MEX-SCL route and it was magnificent. I'm sure you're gonna love it too!
pbateson Yes Paul, the A340 is getting old, and the entertainment system is barely working but with lots of legroom it's like a favourite old shoe that still fits and is so comfortable to fly in. The food and service were average but I was there for that at 6am in the morning.
Great flight video! Beautiful morn cloud scenes! Some familiar spots can be seen on landing at Sydney Airport,at 17:45, the A340 flew over Tempe container depot, Tempe reserve park, Qantas Drive, then 16R runway. Liked!
Supertecnoboff haha just finding an SP to fly on is a rare thing these days. Iran Air might be one of the few airlines to have one (if they are still flying).
Nice video, I would suggest to Lan do a redo on their business class section to make it more like the new planes.... and new look would improve even space. ...
this is a rare video of an overflight of Sydney..never knew there islands in the Sydney harbor...I once knew a girl from Auckland NZ she was in the AF Reserve but she wouldnt give you the time of day...
TheSolnabo Yes it was the Australian Govt announcement made by the customer service manager on the aircraft advising passengers that if they feel unwell that they should advise the crew so that the health department in Sydney can be advised so that they can be checked by a doctor.
The take off sound of the a340-300 is amazing, "slow and low" is called its take off, great video!
