Me and my wife did a road trip across Europe in my 20 year old Peugeot 206. Car was absolutely fine the whole way, the most important thing was making sure I got my air con rehashed before the trip.
It was an amazing trip, drove all the way down to Croatia and back. Would high recommend anyone to do a European road trip, if you like camping anyway, because I found it best to explore the countryside and go camping.

In 2017 before the price of cars went silly I picked one of these up on a v plate in green mot had lapsed but it only cost me 60 pound to buy the car all 4 tyres sound hardly worn at all even had a decent Kenwood cd player I think I spent 130 getting it ready for MOT then I flew though i had the car for a year and sold it for 595 once I had put a fresh MOT on it again wasn't a bad car diddnt even have rust near the fuel filler like most do

My First car was a Ford Ka Mk1 (1998 - R reg) in black with plastic bumpers just like that. Paid £300 for it in 2009 & passed my driving test in it.
It was a Ka2 which had Electric Windows, Power Steering & Central Locking (although that went wrong, got locked out of it in Wrexham - 40 miles from home 😖). I got rid of it in 2012 as i got a newer car & it was getting more & more expensive to keep it going (more than the value of the car) + rust issues. But i do miss it & i have a lot of fond memories with it. So in my view, A pretty decent little car 👍🏻
