Very good and explanatory video, it covers lots of aspects from the disease and it can be seen the effort you've put on it. Just one thing: do not get confused with the terms. Kartagener Syndrome is a variant of PCD, where situs inversus and PCD are present. PCD does not necessarily cause situs inversus, as cilia motility during embriogenesis is not the only mechanism used by the organs to be in their correct place. In our studies, we've seen more than 100 PCD patients and only about 30% had situs inversus. Thank you very much, I really enjoyed the video.
My son is 9 he has this chronic condition he has hearing problems he always had a runny nose and crackles he’s also living with 1 and a half lungs as infection early on wasn’t detected and resulted with scar tissue of his lower left lung ... he is the cutest human god has ever created I’m blessed to have Ali 🤲🏻🤲🏻
Really good video! I have kartagener syndrome myself, and it helped me out understanding about how my body works (this was better explained that much doctors I've met before lol) Ps: pardon my english
Luisa, thanks for leaving a note. We hope that more patients and providers find our video useful to spread awareness and understanding of Kartagener Syndrome!
Thanks for sharing . . . I was born with KS/PCD as well as situs inversus - I found out in the past few years that it seems like the hemispheres of the brain are also reversed . . . rather strange.
Kartagener's Syndrome is Not also known as PCD. Kartagener's Syndrome is when you have PCD along with Situs Inversus Totalis. I've had 3 children with it.
I have been struggling with my condition Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia. Is there anything that can help thin down the abnormally sticky thick mucus which is causing me breathing difficulties. Living in the UK with this rare condition is tough, as there is limited support and knowledge. I have tryed out hypertonic saline, Ventolin nebs, and take daily carbocisteine to thin mucus down. If any one can recommend something i can try, i would highly appreciate it. Thank you.

I know "syndrome" includes two or more conditions so your explanation makes sense. Thank you for the input!
