I think they don't have other choices for the engine. The A45s/CLA45s/GLA45s are close brothers. They are meant to have the same engine. I guess it won't be a GLB45 to come. That car is like an X1 while the GLA is more like an X2. In that case we have an X2M35i but no X1m35i. Not many people will consider a GLB45s while GLC43 SUV exists in that price range. The most exciting (coolest)SUVs in AMG lineup are GLE63s coupe and GLC63s coupe in my opinion.

I was just browsing the MB configurator and if you go to the German pages, they have the GTR Black Series. The price doesn't change as you add options but you do get to see it in different colours including green and orange. You also get to see the inside with the track pack in oramge. Some options are blacked out so I assume it is up temporarily. Check it out. Very cool! Also looks amazing in white with all the black details
I'm a fan of the original GLA45, awesome car. I agree worth waiting to see what the GLB 45 brings, this new GLA45s seems to sit between them. I like the fact that Mercedes AMG seem to be able to carve out new types of car, it keeps them original.
Not really, no. Both the GLA 45 and GLA 45 S use the same engine, the M139. The only difference is the M139 in the 45 S makes 421 hp. Unless you mean the _old_ GLA 45 and the _new_ GLA 45 S, and in that case, yes, there is a difference. The old GLA 45 sounds deep and raspy, but the new GLA 45 S lost some of that, and doesn't sound as great.
Mercedes is the benchmark of all cars in existence, they set the treand in the automotive industry. 1 company against the world. Excluding Tesla I'm not interested.
I like the new look, granted yes the old one looked like a rally hatch but in non AMG trim the old GLA looked horrible to me, it made no sense with less room inside. The new one might compromise looks in AMG trim but the everyday model, to me looks a lot better. It finally has an identity of its own vs the old one. Awesome review as always!
Epic video as always! Just one thing: it's not 100% to the rear as there is no possibility of separating the front axle. It's maximum 50/50 when either both or one of the two clutches at the rear axle are engaged. What you can is shift 100% of the 50% that reach the rear to one axle, that's how drift mode works.
i think the new gla is intended to be the smallest suv's ( judging by the design ) , no more hatchbacks or small sedan's , i love it , except that plastic parts

(Pilot sport 4) I have a GLC coupe AMG and it comes with Continental sport tyres which have ONLY lasted me 12km (3 times now) I’ve had enough and want change! And seeing in this video that the Michelin pilot sport have lasted Mr AMG 10km and still 6mil left. (That’s amazing!) and he was saying he been doing drag races, long drives etc etc etc. Could you Mr AMG or anyone give me any advise please? I would so truly appreciate it.
At 10m13s you say the amg35 doesnt have the extra turbnable amg buttons onthe steering hweel i just watched a youtube review of a - just like this 1 - pre facelift amg 35 and it did have those things on the steering wheel. And if i look now at the mercedes configurator you also can get those seats. Probably also back then.
totally agree on the big letdown in the looks department in the new GLA - it now looks bland and blobby, whereas the first-gen is quirkily handsome. and agree on way too much plastic.
I have asked questions of how many settings can you change in the car just by using in-car "voice commands" and not just usual "navigation". It would be great to know how good in-car "voice commands" are. But no "car reviewer" would answer my question.

A250 and they just change that to A35 AMG... to sell more cars. There's nothing AMG about that car whatsoever. ' But people get fooled and buy it and tell everyone they have an AMG.
