Joann’s throws away so much! I find thousands of dollars worth of yarn, fabric, decor, tools etc. almost every week. I donate most of it because I can’t stand the thought of it going into the landfill, but it blows my mind what I find sometimes. Very sad

Those sewing machines probably need work sadly. The Kenmore machine might be an older all metal gears and would be a very fixable machine. I have one that is waiting to get fixed. If you find someone who fixes sewing machines, they would probably love to acquire them for parts if nothing else. Thank you for sharing 😊

I made hats, mittens, scarves....shopping bags. Pretty soon locals started dropping off their excess yarn stash, so..I kept going! I was even crocheting the local flowers and plants. (pretty fun but impractical) If I could do nothing else about my situation...I made sure everyone was WARM! I HATE to see untouched raw materials thrown away! Right after usable food. DUDE! I have bid on mystery bags of mixed yarn on eBay and Etsy! You can get money for that bag. ($25-$40) Light: wiring issues, reconnect the points inside! For people that know how to sew...their are LOCAL sewing machine repair places who can supply all the missing parts AND give it a tuneup! GRAB THOSE MACHINES! Likely a display, unused, the accessories lost over time. Bernet Blanket yarn!!!! It's EXPENSIVE!

I cannot believe they trash all this stuff when they could donate it to homeless people or charities for a tax credit. This waste is just so maddening to see. And to think I used to get mad when working at Hastings and the small mass market paperbacks would get thrown away for whatever reason by publisher, but the front cover had to be torn off and then the books thrown in trash. We were not allowed to have any or donate. Wasteful and they are no longer in business anymore.

Yeah it's already paid for so they can't sell it again so the fed gov says they have to get rid of it. Same issue Amazon has with returns.
