  • This video talks about a project created by Processing, a language and coding tool based on Java. This design shows the proportion of electricity consumption for each building at Northeastern University. Clicking on a building outline on the map reveals how much electricity is in use in that building at that particular time. The timeline below the ring indicates the date. I used a ring shape as my design strategy to convey the feeling that the ring is a lens through which the user can see the details of the building and how much electricity is being used. When a building is selected, it jumps to the center of the ring. (For some reason, I could not open the data; however, I created this video to provide a basic introduction to the program.)
