They changed the 24 hrs to 48hrs because of vow of the disciple if im not mistaken since the launch was pretty much unplayable
@@Salisky as much as i love the game it really does just suck that with their success they havent really seemed to put any work towards server stability although i will say it is a good thing that we manage to break the servers everytime a new dlc is out bc i think if not many people were playing i think the servers would be fine
@@Salisky oh yeah definitely i dont know why they dont expect hundreds of thousands of players to try logging in at the same time you would think with the years the spend making these things they would compensate for it in some way
Yeah it was Vow, servers were literally on fire that day, I remember my raid team and I were having *constant* disconnects
@@SaliskyCS:GO doesn't have servers like D2 does, you can play it offline, LoL doesn't really do big expansion drops that'd put a huge load on their servers also.
@@prototype2963they expect it, it's just not something you can just snap your fingers and do without a larger sum of money than bungie has access to, TFS's launch went way better than lightfall's server wise, it pretty much stabilised a few days in, there was also 0 server issues on the launch of the raid which is an improvement from the last 2 years, to say that they're doing nothing towards it and haven't been improving on it seems like a case of recency bias.

I was happy to get the Vow Contest emblem during its 48 hr timeframe and I got it with 20 mins left b4 contest was over. Haven’t ran a different emblem since

raid race was really good and i stuck it out with twilight arsenal to deal with the subjugators that spawned in every time but yeah we had a few locks swap out to a hunter was kinda dumb but i cant really say that itself killed the raid for day 1. keep up the great work sweat and eff the haters that call you out man i understand trying to win the race but you guys were the only ones who never blacked out youre screen that shows the dedication and love you guys have for everyone who watches you.

My team never made it past first encounter and we ran for 12 hours straight. Im still so happy with how we did being MY first day 1 new raid (got hardstuck on bridge in crotas). Most fun of my life and ill always cherish the memories we made
They really should have made the stillhunt sniper bonus damage for solar supers if being used by a warlock or Titan, but only bonus for hunters when using Celestial Nighthawk

Great raid. Sad my team couldn’t pull it off. 2nd encounter survivability was just an absolute bitch. We got through first around the same time as everyone else but we gave up after just getting way too frustrated from hours and hours of being frozen or insta killed. We had good damage, it was just getting 3 clean phases without dying. It is a great raid, but definitely a bitter sweet one as we really wanted this day one emblem.
We started frame capping to 60 and it was much more survivable. I hate that the damage is tic based because it's a handicap for better computers
Enjoyed the streams. Gladd is still a beast. That 4th encounter was crazy.
The change to 48hrs was Vow of the Disciple. They extended it from 24hrs to 48hrs DURING the race because of all the connections issues. Then every raid race since has been 48hrs
Team Redeem are the reason I even got into doing Day 1 races in the first place. We've never aimed at actually winning but every year it was a great challenge. I learned a lot from watching your content Sweat. You will forever be a legend of the game.
My team got stuck on second encounter, like many others. Was a pretty crazy dps check itself, but after seeing how many clears there were. I feel proud that we didn't give up early and kept trying. over 18 hours for worlds first was insane. I do hate that we didn't get the clear, I played destiny for 10 years like many others and would've liked this to be a day 1 I could've cleared but it was an amazing experience either way. Would love to have bungie keep this super hard day 1 a thing and make the day 1 experience truly memorable and something you work hard for. Congrats to you Sweat and everyone else who even made it to the witness because that was nothing easy

Its crazy how we're dealing with three shapes and was the most infuriating encounter.
It may not have been a 24 hour clear. But it's amazing that your fire-team is the only one to hold all the contest emblems. I love modern's commend on Flesh for forcing him on the emblem in your SE Day 1 clear vid because I'm sure flesh knows and has been told to show it off all the time for years but as modern and you mentioned is amazing that your fireteam is the ONLY ONE IN THE WORLD that's able to do that which is pretty special.

That's a pretty hard task to complete congratulations also that merch is crazy.
I would rather not be able to get a contest mode emblem than have it be obtainable by 50% of the community. Contest mode should be for the pinnacle of players, and if i fall short then I'm just not in that tier, and that's okay

I just want to say I really enjoyed the stream that you and your team provided. Regardless of if you didn't win, it was the best viewing experience on twitch by far.
Me and my team got stuck on the Witness but I genuinely believe if we had another hour or so we could have done it. Regardless, it was a hell of an experience and definitely not upset about not clearing it. If there was ANY raid that it feels ok not having completed it, it's the hardest day 1 raid in history

I have been watching all of redeem since destiny 1 and always wanted to get a day 1 placement like you guy's, and with Salvation's Edge it finally happened 💪
I feel the complete opposite about the puzzle vs boss encounter and Sweat kinda does aswel because he admits to it in the final boss part. Puzzle encounters make it so that the team needs to organise itself and do their part. bosses tend to force playstyles (like old Wellocks or Celestial hunters here). and while bosses are an important part of raids, Riven is a perfect example about the fact that its not really mutually exclusive. dps checks are just that. get big number or fail so get the perfect build set up or get kicked. puzzles you can do whatever as long as you do your part in it.

Just like sweat said, because we've been given so much more power recently, it's so hard to have a boss heavy raid that won't get crushed, even on contest mode.
Heck, Gladd already duo-ed the witness. There needs to be a power cut for boss heavy raids (that don't have puzzle mechanics built into them) to even be viable anymore.
Stop basing balance off of no life streamers..... 99% of players have jobs and families. And we are NOT doing any raids.

@@TheInfii if your doing doing the raids why should you have a say in how they're balenced? raids themselves are made for the more hardcore audience and therefore should be balenced around them, people have been wanting a more last wish style raid for years now, and getting one is very nice, but its still a shame to see these bosses get absolutely rolled by guardian power levels atm, making proper dps checks and fights that need 6 players rather than 2 seems kinda obvious, no?
