Mr Monty Alexander passe bientot pres de chez moi ds la cadre d'un Jazz in Comminges, il a maintenant 10 ans de plus, ouf j espere le voir en forme avec la reprise de Marley je kiff
Monty Alexander has a great new Jamaican Jazz album out in August 2019. It's called "Wareika Hill Rastamonk Vibrations", and it centers around the music of Thelonius Monk in a Jamaican vibe, with mento, ska, jazz and reggae. Monty talks about the album here: reggae-steady-ska.com/monty-alexander-interview-wareika-hill-rastamonk-vibrations-album/
To oan01: I believe that the drummer (with gloves) to the right of Monty is Karl Wright. The electric bass player is Leon Duncan. Both of them are from Jamaica, like Monty. I question whether you have the correct name of the drummer to the left of Monty.
I still want to hear Maestro Monty perform with my Brother Zabula. Alpha Academy Star and Ernest Ranglin Drummer. Monkey Mash-up All The Eorld, by way of Jamaica. Bless up Famo!
He is a genius, the best pianist ever.
As a drummer I used to play in a couple of reggaebands. The idea of a drumsolo in a reggae song was ""not done". Look at this!!!! wonderfullllll
Wow.....this is a masterpiece!!! Great music!!
Big Tune! You FEEL the vibrations of this song!
I’ve enjoyed the swing/reggae crossover by Monty for many years now... Thanks Monty!! This is nothing short of genius!!

For his sheer taste in not getting in the way of the music, and for knowing what NOT to play, Monty is a master at letting a song be.
Wawwwwwww
Does anyone know the names of the other musicians?
higher grounds!
They did all this perfectly! Why they don't bring someone to sing
Some serious telepathy between Mr Alexander and band! Eyes closed yet brisk conversation!

You are right.
🙂📻🙂
Listening again to this great tune. I don't think that the notes about personnel are correct. Am pretty sure that is NOT Frits Landerbergen on drums.
