*“You were right all along. You are the one for Ridge. You’re exactly what he needs: a grown-up. And you’re such a great mother to his children. I never would’ve been that.”* The Stans flat-lined right alongside Taylor when they heard Brooke say this. 🤭
And just like her stans, Brooke will forget this whole conversation and go right back to insisting they are “destiny” and that he doesn’t belong with Taylor.
It was so touching how Taylor was loved by everybody. The writers were so smart to create a sisterhood between Amber and Taylor to make them grow closer together. Otherwise she would have been the odd one who barely even knew Taylor. They would have never have synchronized harmony as a whole while mourning her death.
The plot point about Taylor's heart rate may be a little contrived, but it creates an interesting dynamic because it makes Taylor acuteIy _aware_ of what is happening to her, even as everyone around her is obIivious. It is, is fact, the _opposite_ of what the show did with Becky, who was the last to know about her own condition - and this absence of a point of view made her death less emotional, while with Taylor we do get to see and experience her perspective, which is far more effective. This undercurrent also makes her scene with her children all the more poignant because while they are there, Taylor realizes that she is dying, and instead of telling anyone, she just focuses on making every precious moment count. The tension we experience as we watch Taylor watching her own heart monitor also parallels the way Macy's death was written, when she was sitting in the car realizing that there might be an expIosion. In both cases, the first signs of the impending disaster were seen only by the viewer and the character herself, and both times, the character was unable to escape her fate in spite of recognizing the danger.
Yes, great point Annie! Taylor actually gets to be the subject in her own death rather than an object of death (like Becky). In fact because we get to experience much of what Taylor is going through from her point of view, her death is even sadder and more harrowing.
Even in a hospital bed they have Taylor encouraging Bridget to forgive her mother without even knowing what the issue is. I can’t tell what’s more ridiculous, Taylor not knowing what Brooke did and telling Bridget to forgive her, or Steph who’s hated Brooke for years and knows what she did yet acting like her best friend and encouraging Bridget to spend time with her.
It's worse. In a few months, Bridget will remember Taylor's words and interpret them as Taylor's bIessing for Bridget to get romantically involved with Ridge...🙄
