I don't think i've ever commented on a youtube video before but holy shit! You're back! Years ago I was couchsurfing, unemployed, and started watching your videos to try to become a CW. I had an English degree (that I thought was useless at the time) burning a hole in my pocket. I started freelancing from your advice and worked my way up to senior CW at an excellent agency. Thanks, Jackie.
You're so funny I love your sense of humor. It's great to hear from you. As someone who's been training AI for over a year let me assure you it will NEVER adequately replace good writers. The problem with LLMs is they always learn so they can pick up bad information after being sent out into the market. It's a never-ending battle believe me. Monday Marketing Roasts! I love that idea, with your sense of humor that would be awesome content. It's so great to hear from you. Sorry about your pup. But I'm glad you're doing better now. Get some pictures for that wall! Congrats on your new job! Ok I've said my peace. If you've all made it to the end type "Mommy Milking" LMBO Welcome Back Jackie!
Glad it's not just me that's had such a hectic year. I had a kid in May, took a couple months off, and when I came back, all of my freelance writing clients were ghosting me. Email after email with no response, trying to reach out on Slack, nothing. Just no common courtesy anymore, and kept me holding on to hope for longer than I should have instead of starting to look for new work. Writing jobs are few and far between, and paying like $0.02/word when I used to charge $0.25. I had a freaking content mill reject me. I started applying to places like Starbucks and I can't even get in there. I have no idea what I'm going to do going forward. And yeah, savings will be totally gone by end of the year. No dog losses here but I've had a fridge and furnace die so far, and a flooded basement. I hope I can hang on a few more years until AI replaces everything and they have to give us UBI lol
The no response is crazy, but I am hearing the same thing from a lot of people! Those are some very expensive purchases and I’m rooting for you to have some things looking up sooner than later! That kind of stress certainly isn’t easy Also on a side note, a content mill rejected me as well 😂 INSANE
Hi Jackie! So glad you're back! You came to my mind today; it was crickets - and then boom! I checked RUclips and here you are today. I'm so sorry about the loss of your dog. Glad you got a great contract. My year has been BAD. Within the space of less than a week (Dec 26th to Jan 1st or so), I lost 3 out of my 4 clients. Then I added one on in March, and then at the beginning of June, lost those 2 remaining clients and had a rough summer.
I'm so sorry to hear about your rough summer! Completely, beyond relatable and I've certainly been there many times! Really hoping the end of the year picks up for you and things get rolling again!
Literally just checked your page for updates a couple days ago. I’m glad you’re doing well and wish you all the best. And, BTW, you have the most enjoyable chaotic energy 😂. Looking forward to whatever comes of your journey!
@@jpearce30what do you think about the future of AI in marketing? Do you think it’s a bubble? Do you think it will get so good it eliminate the need for freelancers altogether?
@@jpearce30 Go where your soul leads. For ex., you mentioned how you've tried showing people how AI falls short. That could be one area to explore - showing your insights on it and actual evidence behind why you've landed where you've landed.
It's still something I'm figuring out! I don't think it will ever fully get rid of marketing teams because there has to be so much thought put into emotions/messaging which AI can't seem to do well yet. Marketing also needs to stay ahead of trends out there, because customers get bored with the same messages over and over, which it also can't do. If it can do those two things, we're all done for 😂
Jackie, sorry for your doggie dying. I am happy to have the opportunity to watch your latest video. Thank you for that and for sharing your personal ups and downs. ;-)
Welcome back Jackie! I hope you keep uploading, love your content whether it's copy-related or not! Would be really cool if you pivoted this channel to a more general digital marketing focus -- there are a lot of potential topics in that space. As for the industry going forward, I think great writing skills are always going to be valuable and marketable, it's just more important (honestly essential now) to have other skills to go with it. Glad you're doing well :)
Thank you so much! Digital marketing in general feels like the new direction so I’m happy to read that! But also agreed! Good writing will always and forever be essential! Whether or not businesses understand it well in 2024, at least we all have a great skill for our personal and professional lives.
Great video Jackie!!! I think you should keep making videos when you can because you're real, you give to us straight & I appreciate that. Although I don't do copyright, I am a gigging guitarist down here in SW Florida, but, my wife & I did a lot of traveling with my music & 1 of the places we played at was a hotel in Estes Park Colorado, 3 weeks later we moved to Florida from Chicago, Colorado is very beautiful, especially in the fall. As for RUclips, I don't think I make any money, & I've been posting videos since October 2006 with my 1st channel, Dave Byron, so I TOTALLY AGREE with you, don't think you're gonna get rich with RUclips, all hype, nothing real. Besides, I seriously doubt any of those RUclips stars can afford a new car payment if they needed to buy a new car, they'll probably get rejected. Keep On Creating Jackie, you ROCK GIRL!!! Be safe, Rock On & God Bless.
I do! Learning how to write persuasively is one of the best things people can learn in life. However, I'd say coupling it with another related skill would be a really good idea.
You would do well on RUclips if you made copywriting tutorials, with help from a video editor. RUclips these days are basically all scripted so as a copywriter that'd be an advantage for you.

So sorry about your loss of your dog. God Bless.

It's so great to see you again 😊 I am sorry for your loss. But it's good to see you back on your feet again.
Thank you!
Best of luck in your 'new life' Jackie, I hope that everything slots into place for you. Please don't abandon us here on YT!
I won't be! I miss it too much 😂 Just going to think of new things to talk about!
Thanks for keeping it real, Jackie. Good to see you back on YT!
Thank you!
Sorry to hear the news, best of wishes to you. It's greating seeing your face and hearing from you again!
Hope to be back again!
Sorry to hear about your dog. I hope things get better for you
Thank you! It was so sad and hard but also grateful I had her for almost 13 years! Outside of that, things are much better!
My sincerest condolences. I empathize. My 15 year old dog had health problems all summer and we also had to put her down in July.
I'm so sorry to hear about your dog! 15 years is so many years, but it's hard when you want them around forever.
welcome back.

Thank you Dave! Estes Park is so beautiful, one of the best parts of this state so that was a great choice of places to stay at!
I switched to accounting and it's making me more money with waay less brain work tbh. Tbf I was tryna make it as a Technical Writer, not copywriting.
What a *mood*. I've certainly thought about switching out over the last decade haha! Glad it's going well for you!
Yea lol that’ll be funny , pull up copy and do some critique content
So you don't recommend copywriting anymore??
I do! Learning how to write persuasively is one of the best things people can learn in life. However, I'd say coupling it with another related skill would be a really good idea.
