  • Artist Christine Sun Kim by Harley Weir, inspired by CHANEL Nº5
Across five cities in five countries, Harley Weir captures five creative women at different stages of
their young lives, each inspired by the complex characteristics of CHANEL Nº5.
Harley experiences Berlin through the extraordinary perspective of artist Christine Sun Kim, uncovering the profound way in which our senses work together to make meaning of the world. Born deaf, Christine creates work that asks viewers to think about sound itself not simply as something we physically hear, but as a concept or even an idea.

Jonatan Nilsson All lot of people assume that sound in itself has no meaning to deaf people. This is no true. Deaf people interact with sound all the time, just through the medium of other people though. For example, the woman in this video told the story of a glass being dropped in a restaurant she was eating in. Although she couldn't hear it (or feel it's vibrations), the reaction from those around her informed her of what happened.
