This is one of the rare times where the jankiness and glitches in the game actually sort of work to the game's benefit, because any weirdness can be explained away as just being a glitch in the Matrix. XD
Are they using PCSX2 or Real Hardware? I heard the game had problems when using Hardware rendering on the Emulator. Then the problems were eventually patched on one of the recent dev builds.
@@ResidentOne this game was released on PC and is very easy to download i think atari is like out of business and gone i dont even think it counts as piracy anymore ive downloaded the PC version before but i have an old modded xbox version that is the best original version.. the PC version runs on windows 10 in compatibility mode and im pretty sure a regular xbox controller can be used instead of the awful keyboard and mosue controls but i just dont think i could remap the controller otherwise it ran pretty good on PC
I VIVIDLY remember playing this game as a kid, through the entire trilogy of movies. How is it that my mind has COMPLETELY erased the kung-fu movie training series of missions? Like, the game does expand on some moments in the films in places with new parts or ideas (you DO fight giant ants at one point...) but I remember a pretty direct re-telling of the trilogy and my brain has completely erased all memory of 90% of what we saw in this video. Crazy.
This game was my introduction to The Matrix and it was weird. I remember being confused on which pill to take so I took the blue one and wondered why the game ended early. Also that final boss 😵
Also, when you run to Trinity, you can also get caught instead of getting to the bike, which is what happened to me every time I played it as a kid, and you get a cutscene like in the movie, the one with the interrogation scene and the worm, really cool detail :D
The fight system with it's insane skills towards the end of the skill tree, was actually genuinely fun. Especially due to the janky ragdolls that sent people flying. Actually got myself a PS2 copy like 2 years ago to replay this little piece of nostalgia.
I absolutely loved this game and played it so many times with all its confusing storylines and paths until I got to the mega car boss. To me it"s a classic. Great video and thanks for the nostalgia.

@Rezo clearly you never played it. I don't need to watch since I still have the game for ps2. It's an old game so it is buggy but ultimately; story, gameplay, mechanics, graphics, path of neo is a solid game
I've literally got this on PS2 and have played it over alot of years, not once have I encountered any glitches. Alot of old games Mid Pulp show seem to have exaggerated glitches and bugs, but I still watch them because they're so enjoyable to watch.

Very nostalgic game. I remember playing this in 2008, it have all the 2000s feelings to it, and for some reason, the tutorial also reminds me of Code Lyoko's XANA virtual world with all the samurai-blazing by Neo.
The Matrix Reloaded still absolutely slapped as a sequel even if it wasn’t as good as the original. That chase scene is probably the best I’ve ever seen in any action movie 👌👌👌
It also has some of the best action scenes in general; and the Lore Expansion it provides is pretty good if you look past the pretentiousness of its overall presentation (i.e. The Architect & Neo Discussion Scene being a Prime Example)
I recently found mind pulp , I love that they have the same sense of humour as me . I binged all of their videos and was so happy to see they posted another 😄
Story time: When I was a kid I played this game and there was a mission where you were in a helicopter and you had to save Morpheus that was being held hostage. After 2 trys I managed to make it, but the game is so janky that when Morpheus was supposed to jump from the building into the helicopter, he fucking stumbled on his way out and fell and I got a game over screen lmao

This game was my favorite growing up! I got it out of the Gamestop bargain bin for 10 bucks and played it for weeks. I heard the Wachowski sisters purposely made the game weird and absurd because they didn't think the movie would make for a good game haha.
Also compared to the other Matrix game, Path of Neo is not actually as janky if you ask me. It’s been a long time since I played either of those but I remember the other having significantly more jankiness.
I remember playing it on PS2, it was so cool and fun. You guys only made it better with your commentary xD Ofc the machine and the graphics are extremely outdated but I have an affective memory on this one.
All of them were good imo. Spent well over 100 hours in each game on the PS2. The mechanics and setting of Matrix in the games were so dope to me back then. I honestly still enjoy the combat today. Janky, but was admittedly decent for the time in comparison to other fighting / third person shooter games. It at least worked lol
its kind of neat that Neos code on death is gold while everything around him is coded green in the matrix. That's good attention to detail him being the one and all.
Loved this game as a young teen, and have been actively searching for a ps2 copy so I can go back now as an adult. It's ridiculously self aware, in a way I really like. It's a way to appreciate the trilogy, *alongside* the films, as opposed to *instead* of them.
