Always "just one more" to add........ I was absolutely unaware of how Cambodia had changed since the recovery from the Pol Pot atrocity. I was just trying a television viewer software when I got curious about TV from Cambodia. This was in about 2005. I was amazed at the quality of production that could come only from quite an investment in broadcast technology. I must admit I felt a sort of joy on behalf of the Cambodian people....... not a day/night go by without me dreaming of experiencing a place I've long admired. I had made a cherished friend via pen pal contact who spent most of her time (it seemed) diving at Phuket. I've had to accept the probability she was taken by the Boxing Day tsunami.
Because languages have always fascinated me, I was "browsing" pen pal sites based on learning languages. I was always curious about "crossovers" of languages in adjacent countries, and what commonalities existed. I knew that in India/Pakistan, there are 33 distinct languages....... imagine being a social worker there. One of the extremely few times I've engaged in chat online, I was on a Cambodian site. There was quite a lot of excitement in the air...... I think it was a day of celebration of journalist Dith Pran's birthday....... Pran was the companion of the New York Times journalist who exposed what became known as "The Killing Fields". There was so much national pride in that chat encounter it was quite touching.

Khmer people are happy people and hard workers. Unlike, westerners like US where there is social welfare provided and still lives in the slums and people are more lazier. Cambodia is thriving from civil war killing and Vietnam occupation.
😪😪😪I know it's slum, but at least lives are better than Khmer Rouge regime. They have mopeds or motorbikes for transportation. Maybe they can go to work at the factories. Anyway, nobody is going give you free money. You've got to earn it yourself. I live in the U.S and i work 8 to 10 hours a day Monday to Friday. Sometimes on Saturday or Sunday. I know the jobs are scarce in Cambodia. Cambodians are planning to protest Hun Manet regime/government on Saturday, August 17, 2024. Vietnamese government is stealing lands from Cambodia. Hun government is giving 4 provinces to Vietnam, Rataknak Kurri, Mondul Karri and two other provinces which I don't remember.
