Gail!!! Oh my word!!! Bertram Copper is amazing! I have never seen a metalsmith at work, and this was epic! I can't believe the tiny details you created! I hope you can feel the awe, wow just WOW! You two are such incredible artists. Great video! Thank you both so much!
@@wildlifeathome Hello! I'm well enough, fighting covid, but it's all good. Thank you for putting words to what I was trying to say, lol. My mind was literally blown by what Gail was creating. I'd say Gail is a Master Metalsmith, is that correct?
Gail, you are a master crafts person. "Simon" Boat-nail Man is definitely meant for the window display. Loved the jig highlighting his moveable arms and legs. The detail in his hands is amazing. Thanks for this mudlark and crafting video.
Gail, the nail man looks like he has stepped out from the land of Oz, or has he been expelled by the wizard? So beautifully crafted, your skill in creating is unbounded. Wonderful to watch you making things. Hope you and Alex are coping with the current rash of storms. Sue and Ian, Australia
Dear Gail, I started watching you and your lovely daughter way back when your numbers were in the 200s. My favourite bits are when you make things. I think we are about the same age, and I too am a life long “maker”. I could sit all day & watch. I remember the video when you got your jewellers table. I was almost as excited as you as I knew what it meant - my custom sewing chair & table were the same. I was watching you make this with a wistful look apparently…. And my husband said “ oh, god no. Please no. No more hobbies, please.” I already have a Soap Shop where I sell soap, body products and handmade candles and Malas, I do Embroidery, stitchery, patchwork, art doll making & dressmaking, i garden and dry all my raw ingredients- metal detect and beachcomb on holiday, I think jewellery making might break him! Your wee man is inspired & quite gorgeous. The details so beautifully done, that’s the sort of thing I love. His wee face melted my old heart! Isn’t it amazing how you can start on a project with an idea in your head, but it takes on a life force of its own at some point? It then becomes its own self. I suggest Collum Copperlegs or Rufus Red Legs. But I’m not very good at names. Much love from NZ. Xxx
Loved your little nailman! The “Irish jig” was adorable. Barty Boatnail I think 🙂 Always enjoy seeing you and Simon out and about. Love his channel too 🙂
I love his articulation! No matter what his name ends up being, he certainly deserves a spot on the window. That is unless he’s scared of Ms. Shwoo coming for him again.
Another great adventure! With lots of little "treasures" to delight and amuse. Love the little copper man. I think he looks like a Nail Copper (Neil Cooper).
Oh My what a great little copper man you made! Gail you really are a fabulous artist and metal smith. He reminds of the Planters mascot, Mr.Peanut. Thank you both for making these videos I look forward to watching each week to see what you find. Much love to you both.
The little boatman is a jaunty little fellow. Gail, I could watch you make jewelry and art for hours. I enjoyed watching you make this little man and also the copper boat nail and chain bracelet with the charm. Watching you make each individual link for that chain was amazing and your attention to every detail was amazing to watch. There is timeless beauty to the things you make, I don’t know how else to describe it.
That DANCE!!! OMG that wee man is WONderful! And I love the articulated legs and arms and *TINY* wee hands!- just (as you said) magic. Gail, your skill, hands (and patience!) - I have no words ❤️ Name? Captain Copperknees! (or Simon Shipnail)

Boat-nail-man is amazing! Great work Gail. I definitly think he should go in the window. I love the Irish jig he does. I was impressed with the jointed legs, but then you made the hands. Truly a work of art. Happy to see you hunt for treasures with Simon, too. He makes it all seem like such fun!

Gail what intricate delicate work went into the nail man. I think the peacock thought he looked lovely too! Beautiful work. I can see him sitting on your windowsill.
Gail, the making of the little copper man was insane….what an amazing talent you both have…. Simon is the obvious name… I would frame him and put him on display … awesome from Jackie
I venture that the majority of people do not realize the expert craftmanship and phenomenal talent that goes in to creating a one of kind piece like your Boat Nail Man. Thank you for opening eyes and sharing. It is truly appreciated.

Some of my favourite memories that I have of time spent with my dad were the two of us looking around old First Nations middens. Thanks for the memories!
I have a hard time comprehending just how many hand made nails have been used and lost and the amount of man hours required in their making. The copper nails are so nice looking cleaned up, I can easily see why you like them. And then there is your creativity with them, incredible! And I do think your nailperson should be in the window, he is amazing! Thank you again for a lovely video, best of luck on your next adventure.
