Thank you for your service sir! Nobody can question what happen to you and what you went through. You have to be there to understand the fear and stress you're under. I couldn't imagine the pain you went though. Thank you for your sacrifice and all the sacrifices Vietnam veterans made. God bless

When I was in the army in 83 1 cav 2/7 cav. I was a scout , most of my NCOs were Vietnam veterans. They were tough as they come and good guys. All of them.. the best NCOs you ever seen. I’m not sure if Barry will see this but from a younger man. Thank you…I mean that. war is horrible I lost many friends honestly almost all of them in Syria we volunteered to help from all corners of the world, haha we where a mixed match group some of us didn’t speak the same language but we all had the same goals. War has not change in these last 100 years or so but war changes every soldier no matter the place. Thank you for everything you and all the men like you in Vietnam. I look up to you guys so much
It hurts me to see you struggle emotionally to tell your story. I'm an old man now but people like you bring the realities of the fragilities of life to the forefront. I would lie if I said I didn't shed tears listening to your take on life from the bowels of war
God Bless you Barry for telling your story and your struggle with PTSD and also for all of your work with our veterans. I hope to meet you some day in the Villages

Larry, you came across another good man. I tell you though, it gets more difficult each time to listen to another of these interviews because I get so angry for the lies that we’re told all of us by the leaders that sacrificed their lives and well being. Lies, lies, lies and all for the politicians and munitions companies and drug dealers. And to know that every war before and since, all for the same reason. Thanks though to every last soldier and support for what they were called upon to do.

This man needs to know any words won't heal his anguish, but over there for a fact so many new men, put in a company, nobody even gave him or them any advise, it was just the way it was, but wrong. It was the code, as america stopped having companies train and go over at once, not all were all the Hal Moore's platoons. It should of been, but it changed into a meat grinder. So sir, take my word, as you are intelligent, as your a pilot. Feel the pride that you turned this into healing with this interview. You keep doing it, as it comes back and keep alive, and talk. Thank you for asking- This disorder ( Post traumatic stress disorder mine was delayedPTSD 13 yrs) never goes away. I was first diagnosed as bye polar by a psychiatrist and psychologist from the private sector in 1980. They knew nothing about posttraumatic stress like they do today so they treated me for apples. I had oranges. Result was delusional and psychotic with the medication’s that they were giving me in 2005 on memorial day. I read while I was sitting in jail for trying to go home to my family About post traumatic stress disorder I went to the psychiatrist in the jail who happen to be previous VA psychiatrist in Northport Long Island. He gave me my first diagnosis 7:24 posttraumatic stress, so I was misdiagnosed for 25 years. During that time I lost my family I lost my job. I had to retire from a job I loved and my family that I love, but it all comes when you can be able to handle what you sick from and help others and the birth of problem off yourself and reach those that need your help for what you went through nothing more gratifying in the world. I’m a very happy man to this day even with my posttraumatic stress I still check the perimeter every night to 3 o’clock in the morning I wake up to anyway God bless you for asking. I hope this answers your question.
Barry, remember shit happens in life and most definitely war. It takes the biggest cojones to admit your mistake and that is ok. Your friend would not want you to dwell on this. He would want you to move on be happy and live your life. He’s in peace and hopefully a believer in Jesus! You got to keep moving.
