When I was in high school, we could buy cars like these for $500.
Usually, they needed a new clutch or rear end.
My graduation gift was a 1969 Firebird.. Original blue with 350ci and 2spd trans. I had to paint it black and did suspension with 4.56 12bolt posi rear.. New Turbo 350 tranny with 3700 converter. Had a local stock class champion build a 1968 400, that was almost done and ready to go in. In 1988 I got stupid and turned it into an accordion 1 night. Hit a tree so hard that the floorpan buckled and front seats were aiming at each other. Firewall moved back and impact blew out several windows. Moral to this story is, drive sober ! I am here ,by the grace, and subscibed to Maple Motors, because some day soon I will be shopping for another Bird. I enjoy yor videos.. Thanks
Really honest video about the cosmetic issues, particularly those rust bubbles under the top. The vin indicates it’s a 6 cylinder car that someone added a period correct 400. Which is why it doesn’t have the 400 hood, cross pattern radiator supports, or arrow head on bumper. Sounds like it runs great. Fun car!
I wonder why they didn't put on the ram air 400 hood, that would have made a lot more sense and looked so much better also.
Still can get that hood.
@@blackjeep6432 It's not real so I would go with the TA hood.
Those Pontiac 400 engine's were great engines. Looks like a fun car to tool around in.
Trade you 10,000 Hot wheels for this sweet dream . I love this car .
That panel fitment ugh! Everywhere
Nice project car. We've had 3 firebird over the years .
So many old-time car guys removed fan shrouds or swapped engines and never replaced the shrouds. Sometimes even to "fix" cooling problems. Never understood it. Removing t-stats to "fix" overheat problems, running no overflow tank, just a hose...to 'fix' cooling problems. Anyway. 1Gen Firebirds are badass.
That's a beautiful 69 Firebird Nick. I dated a girl in high school who had the same car. That was a great summer. Thanks for the walk down memory lane.
Glad you enjoyed it
It's a Pontiac. No surprise- The horn works. Even with an aftermarket steering wheel. Nice driver condition Car.
NOPE !!
Exhaust is held up by emergency brake, what's left of it. Lots of oil underneath. A running project. I'll give you ten k....jackson ten. here.
Too bad it doesn't have the 400 hood. Either not original hood or motor. Still nice car!
You do a great job with these videos. Love the car!! My favorite color.
Thanks so much!
4:09 Yeah, smoke here in Maine too. Nice car!
Good car, most of the interior looks original, even the carpet, great driver , I believe the those are the original miles, If I had it, I'd paint the wheels the correct way, put Uniroyal white walls on, drop the rear level with the front and enjoy it. 👍💪
Needs the correct 400 hood
With faux scoops
I had a 69 Firebird Convertible with the ( pontiac ) 350 . One of my all time favorite cars .
Owned it for years .
350 , 389 and 400 all had the same big block . ( Are you sure its not a 350 ? Its a 350 hood w no scoups )
spray some WD40 in that seat belt . it might help .
Wow thats a bandit car for sure thanks tennese
Nick , that is a pretty nice Firebird with good 400 motor !!
That's a good deal on this car
Can't go wrong get er done
Needs a lot of love, but it's under $20K.
Nice firebird Nick pulling um out the bag this week great price......again mate. 🇬🇧😉🇺🇲
You're killing us Nick!! 1st Gen or 4th Gen Firebird. I can't decide! 🤯
First gen whenever you want to take the ol lady out to a nice dinner... fourth gen when you want to go out and piss off some mustang owners 😂 🤣
@@kentuckyboy.92 Very well said!! lol!
I've owned one of each, the first generarion was very kool, but the fourth
has all the amenities that we just can't live without. The first gen I had was a 326 mated to a powerglide 2 speed, it was quick. But in comparison to my fourth generation, it looks like a 🐢!
Cool 1969 firebird convertible
its just a vinyl top , not a convertible.
A real beauty out there
What a awesome Firebird for the price!! Sure don't see a lot of them anymore.
My first new car was a red, 69 Firebird 350, 3 speed. $3450... The speedo went to 160....had it topped out at 135 plenty of times. That said, back then the speedometers were most accurate at mid scale...so 135??? who knows. Fun as hell though!
Very sweet ride!
Midday My Good Little Bro Nick Southgate Of Maple Motors Nice Looking 69 Firebird
Thank You My Good Little Bro Nick Southgate Sir
400 engine that should takeoff like a rocket when you put the pedal to the metal
a heads up, the back end will beat the front end around a corner, if you happen to get on some pee gravel. so you know. I owned one. back in the day. nice car...
Very beautiful perfect looking car beautiful colour thanks Nick have a very nice day mate
Thanks 👍
By the way i bougth My first car chevy bel air 1954 powerglide in 1970 first car i still miss it so easy to maintain 6 cyl in line unbeateable
I paid 250 dollars for it
Well Nick after you put the gas in it and you mash down on it right there I didn't hear it pop or do nothing this time maybe the gas helped it out it's a nice looking car
Yeah that 400 engine I know because I used to own Pontiac they are very touchy you have to have them just sit just right take my word but once you get them right look out
Nice interior on this one. A good body shop guy might be able to salvage that door and blend paint in but more than likely this car deserves a new door skin. All over car looks nice enough. Its a 52 year old car that will be sure to draw stares wherever you go. And the 👮 are gonna be steamed when you smoke em!
Leave it alone and drive it
This horn must work.
Kinda looks like my old 69 Firebird but the door panels and hood are different and mine had a 400 as well.
Starter sounds rough
Needs to be shimmed...pretty typical for the Pontiacs.
@@turbotato all BOP really...and even a lot of Chevys of the era.
Thats a beautiful pontiac
My best friend in HS (1975) totalled one exactly like this. Very bad wreck but thats all I'll say about it.
Love that car, too bad about that driver's door. Would love to have that car.
Nick we need a walk around video of your Chevelle as well as a Real Ride! Take us to lunch one day!!! Keep up the Fantastic Work! Waiting for a Sweet A Body Mopar for my 340 and 4 speed I have in the Garage!!! Appreciate your work Bro Thanks as Always!
A spot on the door.. one hell of a spot. Lol
The fuzz were a #1 band in 69
What does the hood for a 400ci look like?
2 hood scoops like the GTO hood.
Yup , 2 small scoups on it And it says 400 on it , not 350 lol
Is this still available?
Has car been sold yet?
She's beautiful
Like Supertramp sings Take The Long Way Home ! Needs some work but fair price ❗ Have a good day Nick ❗❗👍👍☝✌ 💪☝ 🎤🎵On❗😎
Thanks, you too!
Funny how Firebirds are worth less than Camero . Same car. Just needs a Italian tune up
How much ate you paying for gas
That’s Binky’s car!
To get good money for a Pontiac you should order the PHS Documents to determine pedigree and origins. The inside mirror must be getting sleepy...
Seat belt don’t work *nervous chuckle*
Hahahhaha! I had that same AudioVox stereo in my 1980 Grand Prix in high school. 1988 ( or so lol ) And 4 Radio Shack speakers! 👀🏳️🌈
This one won't last.
HOW MUCH ARE THE PAYMENTS FOR THE 69 PONTIAC?
