CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Perseus (Sam Worthington), Io (Gemma Arterton), and the Argos soldiers visit a group of witches to find the answer to killing the Kraken.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
The 1981 mythological fantasy adventure Clash of the Titans is resurrected in this remake from Incredible Hulk director Louis Leterrier. Discovered at sea as an infant by a weary fisherman, demigod Perseus (Sam Worthington) grows up with no real knowledge of his celestial origins until his watchful guardian, Io (Gemma Arterton), informs him that he is the offspring of Zeus (Liam Neeson). When Zeus' brother Hades (Ralph Fiennes) casually wipes out Perseus' family, the grieving son vows to show the gods just what kind of damage humankind can inflict on its creators. Before long, Perseus and a small group of soldiers are venturing out into the desert in order to find a way to stop the Kraken, a terrifying force of nature that an indignant Hades has vowed to unleash upon man should they fail to offer up beloved princess Andromeda (Alexa Davalos) as a sacrifice. Along the way, the soldiers encounter a trio of frightening witches with second sight, contend with Hades' devoted servant Calibos (Jason Flemyng), battle giant scorpions, and come face to face with Medusa (Natalia Vodianova), the dreaded gorgon whose gaze has the power to turn men into stone.

Fun fact, the Graea (the witches) are also sisters to Medusa. That's probably why they didn't want to give the location of her cave away to Perseus at first.

@@simplyyellow6240 Well, depending on the myth, Medusa was the only beautiful one out of her siblings. She chose to live among the mortals and worship Athena, until the same goddess transformed her into the Gorgon we know Medusa as today.
@@mr_ms_who122 That is Ovid's version, who was a Roman poet. In Original Greek Myths she was always a Gorgon. Along with the other 2 sisters born to primordial Phorcys and ceto.

With medusa being my favorite character from Greek Mythology when i was younger, i almost cheered out when the fates said her name when i saw this in theaters
They're called the Gray sisters, and in some versions, they have a tooth that they share too.

Iñigo Rus I have a little bro and he’s the same. But Greek Mythology doesn’t always make sense. In some stories, they don’t eat, but the one I like the most is the one where they share a tooth and an eye. It’s really nasty but the just pop it in when they need to use it. But apparently they are able to eat flesh and tear your skin with their tooth.

They remind me of The Fates in Disney’s “Hercules”.
That’s the point. The Fates in Hercules were given the basis of the Witches’ one eye. For what reason I have no idea, but rest assured that in actual Greek mythology the Fates could see and controlled people’s deaths, while the witches were the ones that shared a single eye (and a tooth but that was understandably left out).

This scene was the worst in this very bad movie. The original 1981 version cast three veteran actresses in the brief but memorable roles. Anna Manahan, Dame Flora Robson, and Frieda Jackson portrayed the witches after long and esteemed careers of both stage and film. This remake was embarrassing. The witches here deliver their lines in a bossy and grumpy way, but they are not developed as characters and are utterly forgettable. They were played by non name actresses who probably worked on the cheap.

I would say no, as they are all related to each other, technically these witches are sisters to Medusa. In the story, they were truly immortal with the exception of Medusa who was susceptible to decapitation.

I love how they screwed with Perseus’ head by pretending to present more extra knowledge only for them to say he’ll just die in his battle with Medusa. Real diabolical touch with them.
Graeae, or the three sisters of dread, horror, alarm and shock, were born like this 😳 sharing an eye and a tooth. They also apparently LOVE war and blood shed. They live for it
I think Sarah Huckabee Sanders, kellyanne Conway, and Ann Coulter did a hell of a fine job playing the stygian witches in this reboot.

These are the 3 sisters. They were in the original story as well. They are all seeing and all knowing. The design changes over time but same telling. They are in Hercules the cartoon movie as well.
