Hondo has a point. Sometimes people only see what they want/expect. When they see police, they expect protectors. Fair and just when upholding the law. But when they see something that is not what they expected from a police officer, their perspective changes instantly. What Hondo did is justifiable and his superiors know he is doing what is right and trying to improve. But trust begins to waver when people see something that is not their standards of what an officer would do. Doubting the police and having second thoughts about whether they should see them as trusted officers or trigger-happy enforcers. The public does not understand what it's like behind the police force. They don't see that even police are also human and are trying their very best to be the protectors they can be. So they judge whatever they want on what they see or hear in front of them. Making it hard for good cops like Hondo to do their part to be a better cop.

This is one of the things I love about SWAT. They aren't shying away from subjects of racist cops to being a black and how the community looks at you differently if you try to be fair. Also the Dec and Chris arguments over immigrations. They don't hold back.

Hondo seems so upset about what happened I pray that something happens to show people he is a very good cop. He did the right thing. Praying something happens so the people can respect him for doing his job🙏🏽🙏🏽😢😢

It's sad when people look at the profession and only see that - that's a cop. That's a grocery clerk. That's a bank teller. That's a lawyer. They don't see the person doing that job. They lump them into one category often portrayed by the worst of what they've seen. You have a bad experience with a cop where the cop is in the wrong, it's easy to view all cops as pigs - bullies - thugs with guns who aren't held accountable. You deal with one bad loan officer who suckers you into a horrible mortgage rate and it's easy to only see the greed and selfishness in people who work there. Or the attorney who only cared about getting a conviction, and who made sure the jury found the defendant guilty when they themselves weren't even that sure they did it. There's a-holes in every field. Because they're people. Some are good. Some are bad. This will always be true regardless of profession.
If you spend all your time looking for evil, you'll find it. But if you spend all your time looking for good, you'll find that in abundance.
