Been caving for nearly 20 years now. Never managed to make my way to this cave yet. I can also tell not many have descended into this cave because there were so many tell tale signs like lose hanging rocks on the drop down sections of the cave. Advanced and long time cavers/climbers would have removed those rocks in thee past on their first decent with a rock hammer. Hanging or lose rocks are the quickest way to end lives or get you trapped. Also padding pressure points for ropes on jagged rocks is a MUST. I know you used blankets to pad the rocks, but they were the size of beach towels. You all need to take more caution with this in the future as those rocks can easily cut those ropes and they can do it rather quickly. Use bigger rock covers/blankets in the future and pin them down. Last bit of advice I have for you is, don't yell and scream in these caves as you do not know the structural integrity of these rocks. You could easily start a cave in or rock slide because the sound waves have no where to go and continue to bounce around inside the cave acting like a bass speaker as the sound waves spread. I understand you were all excited but loud sounds like "WOOOOOO!!" in a cave can starts a chain reaction. Please take this advice and use it in thee future, if you don't then one day your luck will run out and yourself or someone else could end up hurt, dead or worse trapped and not able to gt out of that cave.
There have been hundreds or thousands in this cave and more now you can do a thru trip. Rockfalls from yelling, never happened in my 38 years of caving. The rockfall happened when the boulder at the top was pushed over the edge. Rocks fell for 10 minutes.
@@keithfilson2364 I mean, rocks can be loosened from vocal vibrations in cave walls even if you don't believe it. We had a guy nearly die 6 years ago from this, and it was in a well known cave that has been caved for nearly 23 years now. Just because someone hasn't experienced it, don't make it any less dangerous. Near the top of the cave there was a lot of loose rocks and normally cavers will clear these by kicking them to the bottom as they descend. Thats why I assumed this cave hasn't seen many climbers.
You guys have improved safety alot. I’m glad. When you all were improperly rigging going into caves without checking water tables weather and almost getting caught in floods. Going into crumbling holes where a literal massive stalactite passed right by your shoulder if you were two feet to the left you would of been dead. So I’m seriously relieved to see more safety coming into play. This was a beautiful trip guys. Good work.
If you like caves(of sorts), check out some of the abandoned mine exploration channels. Most of them do their exploring in old mines in the American southwest(Ca, Nv, Az). Many of those Canadian mines are very wet, and obviously the water is very cold as well.
