Thanks! Yes, I ended up returning the sheath to get an OD green one with brass eyelets and I'll be doing another video on the new sheath in the near future, thanks for watching and stay tuned!!
Thanks for doing this video. My all black version should arrive in two days. TJ has some issue with his Cerakote guy that caused a little delay but that just increased my anticipation and excitement. I’m hoping the high rise handle and modified sheepsfoot blade will be as perfect for edc as I expect!
My pleasure! That's awesome to hear! I think you will love the knife and the all black option will look great, can't go wrong with that. I was thinking about going with the coyote cerakote but I decided not to. Cerakote offers an extra layer of protection to the blade from corrosion and scratches, and gives it an aesthetic look to it. But Magnacut already has an incredible resistance to corrosion and the stonewashed finish won't show scratches/wear as much as cerakote. Now if it were a different blade steel that didn't have as much corrosion resistance, then I would have gotten the cerakote. Just my reasoning behind that.
It's great to support quality USA knife makers, and TJ Schwarz is top notch. I ordered one in red G10/stonewash a couple of weeks ago. Notice how the raised handle and upsweep of the blade allow you to cut on a surface without hitting your fingers. I have the full-size overland and use it a lot in the kitchen for this reason. I bet you could use the sport for food prep, too, in a pinch (or just for fun).
Indeed. TJ is making a big splash in the knife game with his designs. And I would have went with the G10 if I wanted to use it for food prep. I still could if I needed to like you stated, but something about using micarta scales for food prep and getting it wet with various fluids just grosses me out lol.
That's awesome!!!! We have great taste 😆 So I didn't know you could get a different colored sheath until after I ordered the knife and continued looking at his website on my phone (order was placed on my computer which for some reason didn't allow me the different sheath options during checkout), I noticed you could get a custom sheath so I emailed TJ and he just said to return the sheath and he would send out the one I wanted. Super cool guy and great customer service from what I have experienced so far. I wanted the OD green sheath with brass eyelets. I think it will go perfectly with the knife. I can't wait to see it!! Thanks for watching brotha 🤙🏽 🙏🏽
I've been tempted by this one, but almost wonder if I could get away with EDCing the Commandante or whatever the slightly bigger knife by him is called.
Ya the Confidante is 7.75 inches overall and the Overland is 8.5 inches overall. The Confidante looks nice as well, but just not my favorite blade shape.
lol.. if you can't afford this knife and have to make payments, you have no business spending $250+ on a knife. Please people, get your financial health in check... then have fun with prepping (which I very much enjoy myself).
@amirchar Thanks for the financial advice, but not everyone has the same approach to budgeting or feels the need to get judgemental about how others spend THEIR money. But hey, if watching other people's wallets is your hobby, enjoy! 😁 👍🏽
@@KnifeFanatic wasn't intending to come across as being judgmental. I just happen to know a lot of people that are living way beyond their means, and didn't realize anything is wrong until it was too late. I get that there are times and things that justify going into debt, but there is no scenario where it makes sense to do that for a knife. I only say this as a PSA, and absolutely understand that for some they may have a reason to justify the spend, and I hope they enjoy the experience. My comment was just for the folks that get caught up in the excitement of getting a new blade, without considering the bigger picture.
@@amirchar Got it, and thanks for clarifying! It’s good to be mindful of spending, but people have different priorities and ways of enjoying their hobbies, even if it means using payment options to make it more manageable. For some, a quality knife is worth the investment, even if others might not see the value in it. At the end of the day, what works for each person’s budget and enjoyment might look different, and that’s perfectly fine!
Looks great. After you stated magnacut I understood the price. Sheath set up was cool too.

Never seriously tried it, but always interestsd in ways to see how folks EDC fixed blades. Blade shape looks absolutely stellar!

Which has a better grip Griffin Scout or Overland?
Just dropped a new video and hopefully answered your question in the video

Got the exact same configuration lol

May the Schwartz be with you😂
😂😂😂
Seriously looking at this knife with G10 over micarta.
G10 isn't a bad choice. It won't be as susceptible to oil/grease stains etc. I just love the patina micarta takes on. Thanks for watching!!!
12/23… the date he mailed it… 8 days in the future from when you posted the unboxing vid… 🤔
It looks like December 23rd but it's month/year, which is when I recieved it. So December 2023.
Too bad that’s not a taco style sheath… 😔
Ya I wish it were a 🌮 as well but the pancake sheath still isn't that bad
